Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays
and Sundays every week so be sure to check back on those days to see a
new post......
Well, Winter has definitely come to NEPA!!!
And today, I will be sharing how I changed over the Christmas decorations in the Den to a Winter Woodland Forest!!!
In my last post, I showed how in just an hour and a half, I changed over the front porch and yard to Winter by removing whatever was Christmas and adding a few Winter decorations....
Speaking of Winter, after the 2.5 inches of Snow we got on Friday morning last week.......
Luckily, Joe had put Ice Melt down on the sidewalks before the freezing rain started....
Our car encased in ice......
And now we are in a deep freeze where we had a high temp. of 15 degrees on Tuesday with lows in the single digits.....
Joe is still keeping up his winning streak.....
He cashed in $20 worth of winners for a $20 ticket and first , he won both the bonus prizes and he was thrilled with $400!!
Then he scratched off the Pay All symbol, winning all the prizes for a grand Total of $1000!!!!!
The next day, he won $200 and $100 on 2 more tickets....
I got my Co Vid Booster shot on Monday and I thought after 25 hours, I had gotten away with only experiencing a headache....
Wrong!!
I received my shot at 10:30 am on Monday, around 1:30pm on Tuesday while decorating the Kitchen for Winter/Valentine's, I started to get a headache, a bit nauseated and my eyes were burning which has always been my tell tale sign that I had a Fever.....
Yep, 100 then the aches started and even though I was taking Tylenol and drank about 3 bottles of water and 3 bottles of Gatorade, my fever of 102 did not break until 4 am this morning.....
So far, right now ( Wednesday morning) I feel fine but my son's fever came back in the afternoon of the 3rd day post booster shot so I will not count myself out of the woods quite yet...
There is a lot of pictures in this post.....
I usually share this in 2 posts but since I am only doing 2 posts a week now, this is going to be long so grab a seat and make yourself comfortable....
If you would like to compare how the Den looked decorated for Christmas to how it looks now, please click HERE and HERE...
I used a lot of owls, birds, snowmen and trees for my Winter decorations in the Den....
We will start to the left when you walk out of the Kitchen.....
On the wall between the storage room and the Kitchen doorway.....
I moved the sled over here from where I had it hanging on the wall for Christmas.....
I added a few snowflakes.....
And I replaced the "It's a Wonderful Life " sign with this Believe sign that I embellished last year....
I have several "Believe" signs in the Den because I believe in ME!!!
Funny how when I bought this wreath on clearance in Michael's about 5 years ago, no one wanted flocked wreaths and I bought it for 90% off.....
I could have bought about 15 of them at that time because they were all left as no one wanted them....
This year I changed it up by changing the white deco mesh bow to this burlap bow that has gold thread woven throughout the ribbon.....
This is my new Cynthia Hart calendar that my friend Anne Marie gifted me for Christmas.....
My corner where I sit and watch TV most nights.....
Above the TV.....
For Winter, I went with a Woodland Forrest theme......
I moved this flocked swag, that I received as a gift from a friend, here from the Powder Room......
On this shelf is a Snow Owl......
And a music sheet tree that I made.....
Bottle brush trees and another owl and snow ball......
Another white owl.......
And another music sheet tree......
Bottle brush trees and birds.....
In the corner......
Winter Thomas Kinkade pictures that I framed......
I left the snow men under the dome out from Christmas........
You may remember the burlap Winter Tree I just made.......
One of the owls I received as a gift from my neighbor for landscaping his rental property......
Snow men......
Above my chair......
On the shelf......
Winter birds and plates......
"Wanted: One Magic Hat"
I left up the framed Thomas Kinkade calendar picture......
A crocheted snow flake and snowman slate....
More Winter birds and a bird house.....
" One Magic Hat" and a dapper looking Snowman!!
The back door.....
Mittens and a large snowflake.....
I added some snowflakes to this wreath that I made......
Another owl...
I stripped the Tree down after Christmas......
I moved the Bird star to this Tree from the Tree by the China Cupboard.....
And I made a new bow for this Tree this year from a gold shimmery burlap like ribbon.....
I added a set of icicle lights.....
And clear icicle garland.....
Then I decorated it.....
With winter snow birds.....
Owls.....
Large white snowflakes.....
Pine cones and ornaments with pine cones painted on them!!
Silver and gold pine cone looking ornaments....
And a few snowmen, snowflakes and icicles.....
An alpine and log cabin like village underneath the Tree.....
I bought these in Sears....
I used shower hooks to hang them.....
White birds....
The Computer Armoire......
I pretty much left the Thomas Kinkade village that I set up for Christmas in place.....
I replaced the burgundy feather tree with a battery operated tree that was in the Living Room.....
I hung this Tree that I found in my neighbor Elly's attic.....
Again, I topped it off with another burlap bow.....
And owls, snowflakes and icicles.....
And pine cones....
On the side of the computer armoire....
On a vintage ash tray stand......
Another one of Elly's Snowman Collection....
I pretty much left most of this the same as it was for Christmas.....
The top of the china cupboard.....
I added my Avon Currier and Ives pitcher and tea pot after packing away the Carolers that were here..........
I made the Tree last year from wooden ice cream spoons....
Winter bells....
I kept the tree here.....
Another one of Elly's Snowman.....
I kept the inside of the china cupboard the same....
I decorated this Tree as a Winter Bird Tree.....
Another snowman....
I topped this Tree off with the same type of bow that I used for the hanging Tree and the flocked wreath....
I hope you will be back to visit on Sunday when I will be sharing how I changed up the Powder Room for Winter/Valentine's.....
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

I love bringing out the snowfolk and wintery things after Christmas, don't you? You have such an amazing collection! Maybe with those lotto winnings, you'll get a little gift of a new snow-guy for your collection. That's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! Well, shoot! I typed my comment and poked something and it went away! I'm so glad you're fever broke and I pray it doesn't come back. Joe is one lucky fellow! I have never had luck like that. You're den looks just perfect for winter. I could just stay for hours in your house looking at all of your pretties! Thanks for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Sorry you were feeling unwell! Here there seems to be a bronchial virus going around (along with crazy high covid numbers). I have friends and family with sky high temperatures, horrible headaches and deep chest coughs that won't end. Everybody has been rapid tests and p whatever tested and 99% are just a cold virus. Just watching, the antibiotics and zpac really need a boost of steriods before they feel better. I am hiding in my house. I have chronic bronchitis and don't need the germs. One family member did take a teen aged son who was lethargic to the testing and guess what, he was the only one with covid (but not the cough virus). He had both vaccines and had just gotten the booster, which is why she thought his was a reaction. No headache, fever or cough - just tiredness. Two local school districts have gone virtual for a week as so many staff members are out with whatever is going around (covid/cold).
ReplyDeleteYour house has really changed to winter! I love looking at all the changes you make. You put so much time into making your home beautiful.
Hi Deb, I am so slow at visiting this month but I didn't want to miss your winter home. It is so pretty and you really went all out. That is a beautiful color of blue on your walls and your hubby is kind of freaky! How can one person win so much. Will he give classes to those of us who would love to win too?! How great that is. He certainly knows how to do it right. Glad you are feeling better. What horrible symptoms you had, but I am so proud of you getting your booster. Look out, it sounds like we may have to get them again, and again, and.....!! Your home looks lovely and you always put so much love and time into everything you do, my friend..Happy New Year..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the winter wreath with the burlap ribbon. It is just stunning and perfect for winter. Wow! You guys got quite the ice storm. Ice terrifies me. That's the one good thing about living in a really cold climate is that we don't get ice storms too often.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie - I'm always fascinated with the way Americans keep Christmas trees etc relevant all year round by changing out the theme. You certainly packed in the woodland creatures and the snow to make it all match what's happening outside. We're in the middle of Summer here, so it was a huge contrast to what I'm looking out the window at. Sorry to hear your booster made you unwell (not surprising though) and that you seem to be recovering well.
ReplyDeleteI've been here all morning enjoying your pictures Deb! Everything is as beautiful as always at your house! First, I am so glad that your fever broke and you're doing better! I was very lucky with the booster and had no reaction this time. Still, I know so many who have had the same reaction as you. I am hoping we do not need another one! Next, congrats to Joe! He is so incredibly lucky with the lottery. Now... I am just in love with your winter decor! Of course, the owls get me everytime. Each one is prettier than the one before. Is that a Kincaid lighthouse picture behind the china cabinet? So gorgeous and the cabinet itself was perfect for Christmas and moves right into winter beautifully! Thanks for the all inspiration you always give us. I love my visits here! Stay safe and have a wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeleteYour winter woodland is so cute. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
