Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for
posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge
it......
Today, I will be sharing how I decorated 2 of the Valentine's Trees in the Living Room......
On a personal note, the kids were over for some pizza on Saturday and little Faye was all decked out to celebrate her 6 month birthday date!!!
She had a little party dress on.....
I could not get her to stay still long enough to get a picture of that cute face so Danielle took the above pictures at their house.....
She was too busy playing and sniffing around at our house.....
She enjoys playing with Uncle Joey!!!
Yes, there are Unicorns on her little Tutu!!
We were trying to get a picture of her with this Bearington Bear as it looks like her but no luck!!!
This was as close as we got!!!
Jim sent these pictures after they went home of Faye with her new tee shirt on!!!
" Security "!!!!!
Jim says that they know when Grub Hub is coming because she barks even before they ring the door bell so she is developing into a good watch dog.....
Even though I am sure her sweet little bark strikes fear in the hearts of many men!!!!
LOL!!!
She fell asleep on Jim's lap shortly thereafter....
She had an exciting evening!!
On a personal note.....
I am always amazed at people who I have not had in my life for many years think that what they have to say is of any importance to me and that my family and I would actually care about what they have to say.......
Really?????
They make me laugh!!
Since I have been accused of lying, click
HERE to read the UPDATED post in question
In my previous post, I shared how I decorated the Dining Room in a Pink Valentine's Theme...
Click HERE if you missed that post!!
After Christmas, I stripped down the 2 Trees in the Living Room ......
I did add a set of clear rose lights to the 7 foot slim Tree.....
I bought them years ago and have not used them in awhile.....
I topped the Tree off with a bow made from this luscious red velvet ribbon that I bought several years ago in Target on Clearance after Christmas.....
I then added 2 different types of beaded garland that I intertwined together......
I alternated it with 2 different red heart garlands......
I have been cleaning out and going through all my tubs in my Craft Room and decided to make few more Valentine's ornaments using things from my stash......
I decided to leave out the smaller Tree in the Living Room that I normally decorate for Christmas with my vintage Shiny Brite Ornaments so I needed a few more ornaments to split between the 2 Trees......
I bought these cone like Tussie Mussie ornaments in Dollar Tree many years ago and honestly forgot about them!!!
I filled them with red velvet roses that I had......
The gold hearts are from paper ephemera Christmas cards
I also found that I had starched doily ornaments in a pack of 4......
I embellished them with Victorian Valentine's tags bought on EBay many years ago, red tinsel trim red rose bud trim and a bow made from valentine ribbon......
These were white ceramic heart ornaments from Micheal's that I embellished.....
I bought several of these frame ornaments a few years back in Dollar General for $1.00 each.....
I simply placed a Valentine's tag inside of it....
I painted these wooden heart ornaments red and embellished them.......
I used some bridal flowers......
This gave me enough ornaments to cover both Trees......
This is the larger Tree.....
The Living Room is decorated in a red and gold color theme for Valentine's.....
I have collected ornaments and even made a few more over many years.....
And gold and red roses bought at Big Lot's......
Various gold cherubs that I bought on Clearance one year at 90% off in Micheal's for 19 cents each!!!!!
I bought all the gold cherubs that they had!!!!
There is one of the gold tussie mussie I just made.....
Another one of the ornaments I just made.....
The gold ornaments with red hearts on them were bought a few years back at Pier One....
2 paper ephemera ornaments.....
I leave the platform up that the Tree is set up on, along with the Tree, year round !!
And decorate it along with the Tree for different Holidays and Seasons!!
I used a vintage tablecloth to cover it......
A BEARY Happy Valentine's to You!!!
The red velvet roses and gold leaf arrangements are from a Harvest Tea at our church that I did one year where the theme was Christmas Nutcrackers and I used red tablecloths with gold charger plates and clear dishes.....
The heart shaped candy boxes were bought at Target on clearance at 75% off and after we ate the candy, I embellished the boxes!!!
The "Thief of Hearts"
This red velvet heart box has a crown on it from the Dollar Bins at Michael's.....
Just a few Bearington Bears......
" Love Bug ", " Cutie " and "Hottie"
2 vintage Valentine's that were my neighbor Elly's.....
Another heart shaped candy box that I filled with roses and wrapped a set of rose lights around, framing it.....
Another floral arrangement and embellished box.....
" Lover Boy "
One more candy box....
In the corner, a Bearington Bear in a Squirrel outfit......
" Nuts about You "
I placed this red cardinal globe that my nieces gifted to me on top of this urn......
The second Valentine's Tree in the Living Room......
As I mentioned before, I decided to leave this Tree out after Christmas.....
I split the ornaments that I have used on the larger Tree between that one and this one.....
I wanted to use the same red velvet ribbon to make a bow for this Tree so I re-did a heart wreath that I made many years ago......
I took off the bow and used it on the smaller Tree....
I re-did it with another bow and a plaque that I made which I will share more of in my next post.....
I wrapped 3 red heart strands of garland around it......
Took all the ornaments that had some white on them and used them on this Tree to make it look a bit different from the larger one....
I also added some red and gold bird ornaments.....
Since you can see this tree from every side, I had to decorate around the entire Tree.....
I am happy that I decided to leave this Tree out and decorate it for Valentine's.......
The Tree sits on a marble topped plant urn that I use as a table.....
I decorated around the urn of the Tree with vintage styled Valentine' post cards and a Valentine's bottle......
I hope you enjoyed seeing these 2 Valentine's Trees in the Living Room......
In my next post, I will be sharing yet another Tree decorated for Valentine's in the Living Room....
And the remainder of the Living Room......

Your tree is just lovely - you are so creative! I am sorry for the family strife. We have some situations in our family, too. I find that if I write myself a letter (for my eyes only) and put it in an envelope in my drawer, I can get past it. I do not forget, but it does help me to not bring it up or get involved in anything. I am past the point of getting over things. We have chosen to absent ourselves from situations, do not respond to accusations against us or other family members and not to engage with the main protagonist. Sometimes you can see the problem (perhaps depression or mental health issues) but the person does not want to accept help from anyone and prefers their own narrative. Life is too short to keep these people in our lives.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to read about the conflict within your family, never easy. You certainly know how to decorate for the special holidays and Valentines is no exception. Loved the gold cherubs, so cute. Talking cute the little dog was adorable. Take care.
ReplyDeleteJust fabulous Debbie, love the tree and all the wonderful ways you decorate. Faye is just adorable all dressed up.

Wow! Your home is just bee-utiful!!! So warm...so cozy...so classy...
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about the family drama you are going through...to me that is one of the worst kinds of drama...the way it rips and tears apart what should be a wonderful and unifying thing (family)...but some people just THRIVE on the chaos they cause...ESPECIALLY within the family...
Your oldest boy looks SO MUCH like you!..and he looks so happy when he is with his "niece-puppy"!
Taken care of yourself dear friend...
xoxo,
Nina
Nina,
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by!!
Thanks too for your very kind words!!
Sadly, the family drama was caused by a niece and great niece who we have not spoken to in close to 10 years and really do not even know...It amazes me that people who do not know anything about a situation can just feel free to give their opinion and accuse you of things that they have no idea what they are even talking about....
Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Little Faye dressed to the nines is just adorable! You work so hard to make life a celebration!
