I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Spring and Easter Tidbits

 Welcome!!!!

I know Easter is over but here in NEPA, Russian Easter or Orthodox Easter is this Sunday, April 8th so I thought I would share just a few more Easter Tidbits and some Spring decor.......

But first, I want to Thank Debra, over at Common Ground, for featuring my post, Pink Easter Tree and Vignettes in the Dining Room,  in her post, Easter Inspiration with a Few of Our Friends!
where she chose a few posts to feature from The Spring and Easter Joys Blogger Link Party!!!

Thanks so much , Debra, for featuring my post!!!

I wanted to share a few more  Easter decorations that I forgot to share in previous posts.....

In the hallway leading from the Living Room to the Kitchen........
Hanging on a mirror, is a Bunny Wreath that I made a few years ago.....
The cute Bunny face was bought at Dollar Tree......
Hanging below the wreath is a Macrame Cross that my Mom gifted me about 37 years ago!!
And isn't it funny that Macrame is now making a come back.......
I have changed over the Powder Room from the Snow Buddies that graced it for Christmas and Winter but I did leave out one little Easter Snow Buddy.......
This one is popping out of an Easter egg.......
It is surrounded by pink and black speckled eggs and rests in a pink depression glass vegetable bowl.....

I thought I would share some of the food that we enjoyed for Easter......

On Good Friday, Joe picked up Pagach from Wegman's..........
Pagach or Potato Pie is an Eastern European dish made with potatoes, onions and cheese in the form of a pizza pie......
This one from Wegman's was really good!!

Almost like a pierogie pizza.......

I worked Easter weekend as it was my weekend to work but I still hosted Easter dinner for our family of 5!!

I made the Keilbasi and ham on Saturday......
When I came home on Sunday morning, I threw the turkey in the oven and Joe basted it and then took it out of the oven and had it sliced up before I got up......

I did the vegetables when I woke up.....potatoes, corn, mushrooms and stuffing ...

And we had dinner ready for 3pm......

We also had traditional Polish nut roll for dessert......
We buy this from a friend who has a friend who makes it.......

It tastes just like the kind my Mother used to make......

Then I went back to bed about 6:30 pm and got up and went to work for 11pm!!!

During the night, it started to snow around 2am and this is what I drove home to.......
Yep, on April 2nd, we got more snow!!!!
My Easter flag with the snow covered trees in the background......
And my mini Easter flags.....
We actually got more snow from what was predicted to be snow showers than we did from the 3 Nor'Easter's that we had in March!!!
4 1/2 inches by 8am!!!

When it stopped, we had gotten 5 inches!!!
We had only gotten 3- 3 1/2 inches from each of those Nor Easter's!!!!

In one of my previous posts, I showed you this garland in the Kitchen.....
I added 3 different garlands together.......
A greenery garland with white carnations, a flour and sugar bag garland and an apple garland.......

You may remember that I bought these feed bag ornaments at Christmas.......
This is where I had planned to use them!!
My attempt at Farmhouse decor!!!
I think they go well with the flour and sugar bag garland......
Hanging in the center is a wreath that I bought at Michael's a few years ago.......
I added the red ribbon to it.......
And I added a feed bag ornament to the center of the wreath.....
I thought the egg mash one went well with the wreath......
Over on this end......
Is the 3rd feed bag ornament....
I will keep this garland up until the Fall......
I also did a floral arrangement with yellow tulips in this vintage yellow enamelware coffee pot.....
I will be leaving my Easter decorations up until next week......

In my next post, I will be sharing a few Spring wreaths that I now have out.......
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  3. I don't know about you, but I am so over all this snow. I think we were visited by the "Nor'easter" bunny this year!

Looking forward to your spring decor. I've never heard of the Potato pie you had. Looks good. And the nut roll - well, I make that every year for Christmas, with enough left for the rest of the year. My favorite.

    Happy Spring.

  5. Of my goodness Debbie - such a shame you can't leave your wonderful Easter decorations up till Thanksgiving! I am feeling I should learn everything going about Russian Easter, given that we are off there in a couple of months.
