And now for a few Personal Notes...
Food of the Week
I made something for Dinner the other night that I have not made in quite some time....
A London Broil....
I made it like my Dad always used to....
Place it in a baking dish lined with tin foil, place the meat in and cover it with Savory Herb and Garlic Soup Mix, add 1/2 inch of water and then pull up the tinfoil over the meat and pinch the tinfiol closed, making it like a bag...
Bake in the oven at 325 for one hour...
I also made meatballs out of Italian Seasoned Ground Turkey that I served with spaghetti...
They were good, a bit spicy but the spaghetti helped tone them down....
Now that Joe is no longer working evenings, it is much easier to make Dinner and I am so glad that I am not making 2 dinners a day like before...
We had our Grand Pups over the other day....
They take advantage of being able to sleep when they come here....
Azumi likes to be my her sister, Faye...
The week after Christmas, we had some unseasonably warm temps in the high 50's so I took advantage of that and changed the front of the house over from Christmas to Winter....
This is what it now looks like....
I was hoping we would have a bit of snow but no such luck!
I leave a lot of the decorations out for Winter....
My pots of greenery that I got from the trees on the side of our road are holding up nicely....
The new plaid ribbon that I made all the bows for this year out of still can be left out for Winter.....
I replaced the Christmas sign above the door with our "welcome to our Porch" sign...
A Winter slate on this side of the front door....
I learned to put snowflakes on the garland for Christmas that can stay up for Winter....
This is a wreath that I made for the front door a few years back....
And this year, I decided that I would freshen it up a bit...
I bought this plaid ribbon on Clearance after Christmas....
And these Snow Balls....
And here is the wreath now....
I also added some glittered tree and snow flake stickers to the "Let It Snow" sign.....
I think it looks good with the plaid bows....
I bought this Red Door at Big Lot's last weekend for 75% off and we also had a coupon for $10 off $40 so it came down from $30 to a little over $6....
I knew I wanted to make it over as a Winter decoration....
I removed the "Be Merry" sign and replaced it with this Winter Wonderland sign that I bought in Dollar General at half price for only $2.....
Along with these 2 packages of pine cone ornaments for only 50 cents each...
I also bought this sign at Big Lots for 75% off....
Was originally $12.99 and it came down to under $3 with the $10 off $40 coupon...
And this is how it came out when I finished...
I added some of the pine cones....
Made a small bow after removing the burlap one...
And also added a snow ball...
Along with a few pine cones....
I hung it on the other side of the front door...
I like the way the wreath and the red door look together.....
To the side of the front door....
I replaced the lighted white star that i made with the black medallion that normally hangs in the center of the house year round.....
Hanging from a vintage mailbox is another Winter slate....
I changed out the bows on the front porch light and my childhood sled with bows made from ribbon with red cardinals on it....
I left out the Snow Man sign and the Snow Man.....
Another wreath that I made a few years ago....
I hung the "Snow" sign here....
I changed the bow on top of the tree in the corner of the porch and added 2 Winter slates to it....
I left the cover on the mail box....
And added another Winter slate to the porch railing....
And I changed the Christmas flag to a Winter one.....
I left the plaid bows on the railing....
Added a Winter slate to the center...
I left the wreaths and the garland used as boughs on the windows....
And just removed the candy canes from the pots in the flower bed...
The front flower bed....
I changed out all the Christmas mini flags for Winter ones...
Left the park bench as is...
Changed out the red velvet bows on the deer for a plaid one...
So this is what the front of the house looked like for Christmas....

HERE if you want to see that post...
And with a few changes, it is now ready for the rest of the Winter....
Now we just need a bit of Snow which seems to be nowhere in sight....
Ugh!
It took me 1 day to change over the Front Porch and Yard from Christmas to Winter.....
I have been busy changing over the Den from Christmas to Winter and I hope to share it on SATURDAY...
So I hope you will stop by to visit again on SATURDAY!!
