I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

Halloween Hutch and Tree in the Kitchen

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Today, I will be sharing the focal wall in our Kitchen decorated mainly for Halloween.......

But first, Thanks to Kris and Larry at Kris and Larry.com and to Michelle at Moms are Frugal , who chose my post, How to Retire Early, as one of their features for Family Feature Week from the month long Blog Hop, You're the Star!!!!!

Thanks so much to Kris and Larry and Michelle!!!

Please stop by and link up to this great month long Blog Hop!!!

In last years, I decorated the Kitchen for Fall with a bit of Halloween......

After deciding to bring down and set up the Tree I decorate in the Kitchen for Christmas and Winter last year from the attic and making a bunch of Fall and Halloween ornaments for it.....

Click HERE if you would care to take a look at that post.......

I also got a lot of decorating inspiration from a new Blogger friend, Melisa, over at Pinker n Punkin Quilting and Stitching..........

I decided to do a bit of Halloween decorating in the Hutch in our Kitchen.......

So this wall, which I always call the focal wall because it truly serves no functional purpose in the Kitchen, is pretty much mostly decorated for Halloween this year.......

Now why am I sharing Halloween decorations before showing you my Fall decorations?????

Because I decorated the Kitchen while waiting for the delivery of our new refrigerator, which I love by the way even though we bought it sight unseen, since I had to move a lot of things out of the Kitchen to make room for the coming and going of 2 refrigerators...........

So the Kitchen was the first room to be decorated for Fall/Halloween in the house......

I am working on the Living Room Fall decorations now and should finish by Wednesday, I hope......

Let's start with this side ......

This is a chalkboard that was given to me by a former co worker of mine.......

I like to dress it up a bit for each Holiday......

I taped a sweet vintage looking card that I got when I bought a calendar one year over the tile at the top of the chalkboard.....

It has a quote on it that says......

"Pick a Pumpkin

And on it's back

You'll find you future

Bright or Black!"

I also added a bow I made from plaid ribbon to the top......

I have no artistic ability when it comes to drawing especially chalkboard art so I wrote "Pink a Pumpkin" in yellow chalk on the Board.......

On the shelf in a vintage loaf pan is a Fall towel and a cute wooden block......

On the floor is a milk bottle carrier filled with milk bottles from a local diary that is still in operation and a few vintage mason jars.........

The Tree is one of a set of outdoor Pathway Trees that I bought several years ago and the urn base of it fits perfectly into this antique crock......

It is just the right size to fit perfectly on this side of the Kitchen Hutch.....

Behind the Tree, hanging on the wall, is a frame that I painted black and added a picture to from the same calendar as the card on the chalkboard.....

The Tree is topped with an owl garden stake and a bow made from Fall plaid ribbon.....

This Tree is pretty much decorated the same as last year except for a few cotton picks that I tucked into the Tree......

As I mentioned, this year, I wanted to match the Hutch to the Tree.....

I took everything out of the Hutch, packed some away and moved some things to different places in the Kitchen....

I added a few new Halloween things and some older ones....

I kept the top of he Hutch the same as it was in the Summer.....

Let's take a look at the first shelf.....

On the left side......

The wood mason jar sign was bought at Gabes.....

I filled a mason jar with candy corn and the Halloween dish was one of a set of 4 bought at Target.....

The gourdes, Jack O Lantern and Salt and Pepper shakers I already had.....

On the right side.....

More candy corn.....

The tea pot is from the Holiday Harlequin pattern of dishes bought at Wegman's and the truck was bought at Dollar General......

Hanging in the middle of the Hutch is a Witch's Boot that Joe bought on Clearance last year at Target for under a Dollar....

On the bottom shelf.....

 On the left side.....

These items I used  previous years on the desk area of the Hutch.....

The pumpkin in the back ground was bought at Dollar General last year at 90 % off.......

On the right side......

Another one of the wood mason jar signs that Joe bought at Gabes.....

Another Halloween dish from that set of 4......

The owl Salt and Pepper shakers are from Dollar Tree....

And one more mason jar filled with Halloween candy corn.....

I decorated the desk area of the Hutch with more of a Farmhouse Fall theme.....

With a touch of Halloween added.....

On the left side......

Vintage wood mashers and a milk glass hurricane lamp......

In the middle.......

The sign was bought years ago at Gabes.....

The other 2 dishes in that set of Halloween dishes....

On the right side.....

A Fall recipe box filled with Fall flowers....

Underneath the Hutch......

On top of a vintage metal Picnic Basket.....

Mason Jars filled with faux eggs and fruits.....

On the side of the Hutch facing the Den.....

I hope you enjoyed seeing this part of the Kitchen decorated for Halloween.....

  7. Good Morning, Debbie. Thank you so much for the sweet shout out. I feel very honored and was so thrilled. I could spend all day drooling over your kitchen. It is gorgeous. You should have been an interior designer because you are very talented at decorating. I love the vintage vibe of your kitchen and your Halloween decor is so much fun. The ornaments you made last year are darling. I so many inspiring ideas that I would like to copy. Lol I love how you change out the tile on the chalkboard by adding a different image and all of your mason jars filled with goodies are adorbs. I could go on and on. You now have got me officially inspired to climb in the attic to get down more Halloween.Lol . Have a blessed week. Hugs, Melisa

  10. Lots of fun here in your post...I just can't get motivated to doing anything but toss a few pumpkins on a table. It's great to see someone so motivated for any holiday, Debbie. My energy is being spent cleaning up the garden, expecting frost here, so have to work when the sun still shines.Hugs, Sandi
