Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
Click HERE if you missed that post!!
I want to Thank to Marsha, over at Marsha in the Middle, for choosing my post, Falloween Home Tour, as one of her features from last week's Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot Link Party!!
Joe always did the dishes because he made the mistake of telling me when we first got married that I did not do them right so they INSTANTLY became his to do!!
LOL!!
He was very OCD about how he did them too....
I went to clean the Kitchen sink the other day and picked up the drain mat and this is what I saw!!
Sure looks like a Heart to me!!
This is an E Granite sink that Joe picked out when we remodeled the Kitchen 13 + years ago as I did not want a stainless steel one, which is too cold and industrial looking for me.....
Usually bleach removes any stains from it and is really all I could use on this type of sink...
I soaked it in water and bleach then I used Comet with bleach and I can not get this "heart" stain out...
Hmmmm....
A message from Heaven?????
We had a stretch of warm weather last week.....
Actually record breaking heat!!!
I cut back the hostas on the slope next to me using my lopper and what I could not get with the lopper, I did actually climb the slope to cut them back....
Never thought that at almost 67 years old, I would be able to do that again ...
I did sweep up a baby snake so thank goodness, I did not encounter it while on the slope because I would have rolled off the slope onto the parking lot....
I did as best as I could...
May do more when it gets colder but it is good for now...
We will be having a landscaper put mulch on slope in front of both my house and my next door neighbors and the front flower beds in the Spring......
My hands were screaming though along with my back after using the clippers and lopper....
Filled 3 garbage bags that I
also hauled out and threw in the dumpsters....
I pulled up the patio rugs......
Cleaned them off, rolled them up and packed them in the car...
Took all the pillows and cushions off all the chairs in front and back and packed them up also.....
Moved most of the pots under the chairs that I stacked and banked up against the back of the house under the awning....
I moved the resin wicker chairs from the front porch to the back patio and moved one of the solid resin chairs from the back to the front.
I used a
chair for Christmas decorating on the front porch last year and the
one from the back will hold up better in the elements if I decide to do so again this year...
I also pulled up the black and white rug, cleaned it up, rolled it up and packed that in the car to take down to my storage shed with the rest of the Summer things....
Still have a bit more things to do until I tarp everything that is against the back of the house like move the tables from the front porch out to the back...
Joe used to take the tables and chairs from the front porch down our storage shed for the Winter....
I am not doing that....
The less I have to haul back and forth from the storage shed , the better....
I also will be able to store some of the back yard Patio things in my storage room at the house since I cleaned out some of the Joe's things in there that I will not be needing....
I hope that by next year, I may be able to go down to a smaller storage shed....
There is a lot that I need to throw out from the shed and then re-organize it to my liking.....
And then I will see how much room I actually have in it...
On Halloween, the apartment complex that both my sons live in, which is right next to my townhouse development, hosted a Trunk and Treat for their residents....
They also hosted games and crafts for the children a bit earlier......
My son Jim , was able to leave work a bit earlier as he usually works to 7pm, so they could take my Twin Granddaughters to the Trunk and Treat!!!
They invited my son Joey and I to join them........
At first, we were not sure what the twins were dressed in for Halloween.....
Until they put their hats on them!!!!!!
Gigi was Sweet Dreams Care Bear
And Lily was Funshine Care Bear....
Maybe they should have reversed the costumes because it took a bit before Gigi woke up!!
And Mimi and Uncle Joey were happy to have been able to share Lily and Gigi's first Halloween with them!!!
Well, tonight we turn the clocks back here in NEPA.....
Honestly, I LOVE this time of year.....
When I was a child, I was not allowed to turn on the lights of the Christmas Tree until it was dark outside so I loved that it was dark here in NEPA by around 4:30pm!!
In later years, I had a small Tree of my own in my bedroom that I lit up whenever I felt like it and now, with all my seasonal Trees that I keep up year round, they are always lit!!
ALL my lighting is LED and that includes all the light bulbs in all my lamps and light fixtures in my house so keeping the lights on, costs almost nothing with the new energy efficient LED bulbs.......
In my next post on MONDAY, I will be moving over to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas, until the New Year.....
I will be providing a link here to all my Christmas posts over on my Christmas Blog as I have in past years....
I will be sharing another Christmas Haul and will explain where I am and where I am not, with my Christmas decorating....
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
If you do not have a blog, PLEASE give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment. If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

I was not a fan of Trunk or Treat until I attended one. I really think this is the way to go! There are no streets or traffic that you have to worry about (a little boy stepped in front of a car during my town's trick or treat. Injured his leg, but he will be okay). It is light enough to appreciate their costumes and you can see the people handing out the treats, too. We had so much fun at my grandson's preschool trunk or treat.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughters are just adorable as Care Bears. I think it is great that you and Joey passed out candy so that the parents could take the girls out.
The heart. Oh, it's a sign from heaven. (hugs)
Hi Deb! The girls look so cute in their costumes! Wait til next year! They will be running their parents ragged! Precious babies!

DeleteI am so looking forward to next Halloween!! Thanks for stopping by!!
Hugs,

The fall leaves near you are stunning. I'm trying to make a point of noticing and enjoying them when I'm out doing errands. Those little girls are 10 months old already? It's had to believe it's been that long and they're so cute in every picture you post. Enjoy your weekend. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to visit!! The colors on the leaves were so vibrant this year....So pretty but now they are almost all off the trees as Winter is coming!!

Deb
Your color there is beautiful! I've been doing the same with yard clean-up. Do it while we can! And the girls are adorable!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, I love the twins costumes. When my kids were born I made them each a carebear crib blanket. They are not twins, but two years apart. Carebears were very popular then. My grandkids did trunk or treat too. I think it is much better then walking in neighborhoods. You have been very busy getting ready for winter. I am glad the weather has been nice for you to get things done! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe babies are so cute! How fun! I need to get my boys to rake the leaves today. We only have one tree and it has lost most of its leaves.

Aw, I love those Care Bear costumes! I had lots of Care Bears as a kid and remember my mom making a sunshine bear costume for my little brother one year. I haven't seen anything Care Bear related in years!
ReplyDeleteThe heart message for you . . . . . priceless!!!
ReplyDeleteI think so too!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!
