I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
I don't know about you but I am SO ready for Fall!!!
This past Sunday was a beautiful day with sunshine, low humidity and temps. in the mid 70's!!!
Joe did some weeding on the slope in front of our house and I trimmed our azaleas......
I used to do this but those days are long gone!!
We then took advantage of the gorgeous day and spent it sitting on the Front Porch.......
In my last post, I shared how I updated our Front Porch with new out door chair cushions and pillows and a new rug.........
And I also showed you how my flowers are growing.....
Click HERE if you missed the post.....
Joe read the newspaper and I looked through all my Fall/Autumn decorating magazines......
We even enjoyed a nice grilled sandwich that I made for each of us and a bowl of ice cream while enjoying the nice weather while sitting on the front porch......
It doesn't get any better than that in my book!!!!
Looking through all those Fall/Autumn magazines, I was really in the mood for Fall!!!
Did I mention that I
Before I go any further......
I want to Thank Roseanne, over at This Autommune Life, for featuring my post, A Few New Things, from last week's Snickerdoodle Create Bake Make Link Party!!!
Thanks so much, Roseanne!!
I also want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring my post, Cottage Garden Update and a Project!! from last week's Over the Moon Linky Party!
Thanks so much, Bev!!!
Please stop by and link up to these wonderful parties!!
Today, August 12th, is actually our 41 st Wedding Anniversary.....
They say opposites attract........
We are just thankful that we have not killed each other yet especially since Joe is retired and I am not working....
We ordered in from one of our favorite Italian restaurants, Aldo's, and had a nice quiet dinner at home, just the 2 of us since our youngest son and daughter-in-law are in Atlantic City for the week...
Joe ordered Baked Ziti.....
And I ordered my favorite.........What I call Heart Attack on a plate, Fettuccine Alfredo!!!!
Since the portions are fairly large, neither one of us were able to finish our entree's so we will have the other half of our dinners tomorrow......
On Saturday, the 17th, which is Joe's 65th Birthday, we will be celebrating our Anniversary, Joe's Birthday and a special day for me with a lobster and seafood dinner at home with the kids....
I can not talk about why it will be a special day for me but soon I will be posting about it....
Fall/ Autumn is my FAVORITE Season of the year.....
I LOVE the cool crisp air, the changing colors of the leaves, apple cider, wearing sweaters and a jacket on a sunny Fall day, the traditional colors of Fall decor and of course, Halloween!!!
Last week, I did buy a few things in Micheal's including these 2 items for Fall......
Click HERE to see that post......
I noticed a few posts by other Bloggers showcasing some of the beautiful Fall items that they bought at Dollar Tree......
I went on line to see what they were offering for the upcoming Season and O MY!!!
I fell in love with quite a few things!!!!!
Since the Dollar Tree right down the road from me gets picked out really quick, I thought I had better get my butt down there and see what they have......
PAY DIRT!!
They had everything that caught my eye!!!
Since Big Lot's is located right next to Dollar Tree, I had to check that store out too......
I had a Reward coupon for $5.00 off $15.00 at Big Lot's.....
This is my Fall Haul!!!!
You can see I had a good time, can't you???
At Big Lot's , I found this!!!!
This pretty Fall wreath design and quote is etched on a white enamelware like plaque!!!
I think it will be perfect for my Kitchen!!
It is rather large at 14 inches square......
It was $16.00
I saw this cute piece and had to have it.....
This too is metal and was $7.00 but I had the $5.00 off coupon!!
Dollar Tree had everything that had caught my eye when I looked online!!!!
I love these plaques in the shape of a Mason Jar!!!
Love the red truck which is still so popular even though it has been around for a few years now....
These can be used on a wreath, in a vignette........
I love the Autumn scenes on both of those!!
And look at these!!
I will be using these in the Kitchen.......
I can even use the apple one above all year round if I choose to......
I had to grab this wood plaque cut in the shape of a mason jar......
Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes.......
You may remember that last year I bought this plaque at Dollar Tree.......
And turned this, which Joe got for free after a tornado damaged a furniture store and they had a sale afterward..........
Into this.......
Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes!!
I also bought 2 packages of burlap leaves.......
There are 5 leaves in each package......
They also had the natural color burlap leaves......
I figure these can be used to embellish pillows, on a wreath ,in an arrangement as there are stems on them or even sewn together and stuffed with fiberfill to make ornaments.........
These cute scarecrows will be used as ornaments on my Autumn Tree in the Living Room.......
And I bought 2 packages of wood ornaments......
I bought pumpkins that I will paint and "Dabble" with a bit but they also had leaves and owl wood ornaments.....
There are also 5 in each package of these too!!
Now I do have a lot fo Halloween decor which I use to decorate our Dining Room......
But I could not resist grabbing 2 of these sparkly Hallween trees for my Victorian Doll House.......
They also had black sparkly trees too.......
So what do you think of my Fall Haul?????
I will hold off until after Labor Day to start to decorate for Fall even though I am itching to do so now.......
How about you.......when do you decorate for Fall?
Once again, I want to THANK everyone for their prayers for my nephew John and his family.......
His Funeral Mass was held Saturday morning in a church that was built only 2 years ago......
I thought it was an absolutely stunning church and I would like to share it with you........
It has sloped amphitheater seating......
Rounded pews set in a half circle around the altar.....
The Stained Glass windows were taken out of several old Catholic churches that were torn down as there were too many Catholic churches in our area and not enough priests.....
Isn't this breath taking!!!
It truly was a beautiful church and a beautiful service.......
I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

ReplyDeleteyour haul looks great, neat to see how you used some of them too, sorry to hear about your nephew!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. Dollar Tree had some cute stuff this year. That is a beautiful church. I hope John's family is holding on.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad is finally cooled down some. We are supposed to cool down a little tomorrow.
Hi Debbie, I really enjoyed seeing your Catholic church. It is modern and very beautiful. I am also Catholic. I live in Oeiras a city near Lisbon in Portugal.
ReplyDeleteHusband and I have always worked hard in our Parish, especially in counseling young couples in their preparation for Marriage. Tomorrow 56 years ago we got married. But unfortunately my Husband left 4 years ago for the Lord. I believe he, my Rui, is watching over me, our 5 children and our 9 grandchildren. I keep praying with him as we did for 51.5 years ...
I always love to read your posts. A hug for you!
Happy anniversary to you and Happy Birthday to your hubby also! The church is quote lovely. I am sorry you lost your nephew John but I have prayed for all of you in his phamily. Loss is hard. I have had to force some smiles but each day , with the loss of that sweet great grandbaby Alastor Avery, I have been getting ready for Fall too. The little ones always enjoy my fun displays so I will smile and journey forward. Thanks for the smiles. HUGS to you and your hubby too.
