Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS
I
enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and
commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have
a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to
spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

In my last post, I shared that it finally warmed up enough that I was able to buy my annuals to plant in my pots....

I shared what I planted in the front yard pots....

And now for a few Personal Notes...
For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....
On THURSDAYS,
I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local
cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...
I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....
On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...
Well, What did I cook and eat during the week since today is THURSDAY????
Nothing really new or different so I will share what the Community Group, which I am part of, served for our Monthly Family Breakfast last Sunday at my church, Saint Maria Goretti....
We did a Memorial Day theme with red and blue tablecloths, which I forgot to take pictures of, and a few Patriotic decorations on the food table that I brought from home....
Michelle, one of the parish secretaries and also in the group, changed it up a bit and bought a few goodies at Cinnabon, which is owned by parishioners , who also own Auntie Anne's in the mall down the road from me.....
Came with extra icing to put on them......
These were cinnamon and chocolate....
Some goodies left over from last month's breakfast that we froze....
A few trays of bagels and grapes....
Kolachi....
And Coconut pastries, which are always a big hit, from Bakery Delite.....
Coffee and tea...
We had 7 tables filled, around 55-60 people,....
It was a great turnout....
I am helping out with our priest, Father Alex's Farewell Dinner next Saturday...
He is leaving us because he was appointed as Rector of the Scranton Diocese's new Seminary.....
They are converting a former convent into a Seminary where first year seminarians will stay and study together for the first year...
He was Director of Vocations and because of him, we now have 18 new seminarians!!
We have not seen that amount in many decades!!
We are all going to miss him terribly...
I will also be helping out with our next Family Breakfast in June where after every Mass that weekend, we will be hosting a Meet N Greet for our new parish priest Father Michael...
I have heard nothing but good things about him and I am excited to meet him....
Today, I am finally going to be continuing the tour of my Den decorated in an English Cottage style with a bit of Americana, which is NOT the same as Patriotic decor..........
The color theme of the Den is burgundy, blue, beige and ivory, which fits in nicely with Americana.......
Americana Decor which is defined as....
" Americana decor is a timeless style that celebrates American heritage through a patriotic palette and rustic materials.. Modern
trends have shifted toward "heirloom" aesthetics, using muted,
tea-stained colors like barn red, midnight navy, and cream to create a
sophisticated, non-kitsch look."
The colors of ivory and almost a burgundy and dark navy as very different then the red, white and blue of Patriotic decor....
I will pick up where I left off.....
Across from this in the opposite corner, is Nelson Crest, my Victorian doll house, which I will feature in another post............
These are the pictures above Nelson Crest in the corner of the Den.....
What was the Kitchen window, which we took out when my Dad turned an enclosed porch into the Den....
I still treat it as a window.....
I leave this "Believe" sign out year round.....
For the Summer and Fall, I like to display some of my red and blue transferware in the china cupboard....
On top of the china cupboard.....
This year, I did a different display using more of my dishes....

A blue transferware pitcher.......
A red transferware tea cup and saucer.....
A blue transferware dinner plate and a creamer and sugar bowl.....

A blue transferware tea pot and another red transferware tea cup and saucer....
Blue and white birds from Michael's on each side....
A few flags and burgundy and blue roses....
My Thomas Kinkade calendar......
I hung this vintage looking Angel on the left side of the china cupboard.....
Inside the china cupboard....
Top shelf.....
I hung 3 toile hearts from the vintage scarf on top of the china cupboard....
Middle shelf.....
Bottom shelf.....
Did you notice the mini tea pot and tea cup ornaments???
Hanging on the door on the right side of the china cupboard.....
I made this flag a few years ago.....
I also hung bells on the door, which I leave open...
In my next post on SATURDAY, I will be sharing how I decorated the vintage suitcases in front of the china cupboard.....
And how I decorated my Americana Tree.....
Hope to see you again on
SATURDAY when I will be sharing my Memorial Day Front Porch.....
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
And try to find JOY in every single day!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

THURSDAY
Please take some time to visit these terrific hosts and all those joining in on the fun!
Your red, white and blue decor is perfect for this weekend and this summer!
ReplyDeleteThe coffees at your church are very well attended and the goodies look so delicious. I bet you will have bigger crowds who want to meet your new priest!
Hello, Debbie. It's not often that I meet a Debbie. :) However, my name is spelled Debie, one B. I do not have the patience to decorate in detail. I like to decorate my tabletops and at the entrance to our home. Plus to store everything, I do not have the space. Your decor is fabulous. I like the colors red, white and blue. The colors can also be used for July 4.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time visiting your online home. Off now to browse your blog!
Have a fun Memorial Day weekend.
All the best.
