Finally, I will be sharing our back Patio with you today......
Between all the rain that we had in the Spring and 7 days of 90 + degree temperatures, I finally got around to taking pictures of what I call my Bright and Colorful Patio.......
On our front porch, I stuck to a color theme of red, yellow and orange.......
But out in the back Patio, I went with bright colors.........
I have several new things to show you that I have added for this year........
The pictures that you have been looking at were taken from the back of our tiny back yard.....
In this post, I will be sharing this half of the Patio.........I call this half of the Patio, my side.......
This is where I usually sit.......
We have a small awning over the back of the house.......
It provides some much needed shade because the back of the house gets
the Sun from the morning until about 4pm-5pm when it swings around to
the front of the house in the Summer......
New this year are these outdoor rugs that I bought in the Spring at Michael's........
They were $30, on sale for $15 and I had a 25% off coupon off of the total purchase........I started with 2 rugs but then I picked up a 3rd one........
I have one on each side of the patio and the 3rd one extends from the
back door out to the chair and table underneath the umbrella.........
This is my side of the Patio, where I sit.........We also bought new chairs, cushions, pillows and a table but I will get to that in a minute.......
The Patio is open to our little Cottage Garden......
At the edge of the Patio on this side is where I have one of my Fairy Garden Tubs......
Marigolds and begonias are planted in small pots.....
A bright blue plant stand......
On this stand are small pots filed with hens and chicks, impatiens and marigolds..........
A cute ceramic frog sits in front of the plant stand......
Update: Since I took these photos, I bought a few colored pots in the colors that I had been using here in the patio so I changed some pots out.......
Pink.......
Aqua and lime green pots!!
I like how the new colored pots look......
I bought 6 pots for $6.00 at the Tornado Tent Sale being held daily at a Home Decor and Furniture store that was devastated by the Tornado that hit our area one month ago......
A wreath hangs on the privacy lattice........
I do not plant any flowers in the hanging pot in this corner because this is where we had morning doves nest several times so I keep it open in case they come back to nest again.......
I bought this table at a yard sale and spray painted it bright yellow.........
Flowers, frogs and a citronella candle in a holder brighten up the table.......
Impatiens are planted in the pot that sits on a plant stand in the corner......
In the pot, is the glass part of a non-functioning solar light that now holds an aqua votive cup bought at Dollar Tree with another citronella candle in it.......
The windows are the windows of our Den......
The chandy hanging in the center of the 2 windows was bought at Big Lot's last year and comes on by timer and changes colors.......
Flower plaques that I painted a few years ago hang on the wall......
A purple "Lantern" has small pots filled with bright yellow flowers inside of it instead of candles.......
We bought new chairs and a table at Wegman's........
Joe found these chairs.......
I liked them because they are in the Adirondack style but look like wicker!!!
They are all one piece resin so they will not fall apart like the white resin wicker ones we had previously......
The cushions and pillow were bought at J.C. Penney's for 70% off........
I like the color of the chairs and table because they will not tell the dirt and will be easy to clean by just wiping them down........
They give me the comfort of an Adirondack chair but have to look of wicker that I love!!!The Best of Both Worlds for me!!
I like how the yellow rugs look......
Between the chair and the table is another plant stand.....
My new "Happy Camper" bird house sits on top of the plant stand.......A pot planted with begonias sits in front of it.......
Update: one of the new pots that I bought.......
An aqua pot......
I like the shape of the new table that matches the chairs.........
Bird houses and a candle votive grace this table.......
You may remember this cute tin planter that I bought at Dollar Tree in the Spring......
And the wooden birdhouse at a church Flea Market.......
Well, here they are now.......
I painted a wood candlestick and glued the newly painted birdhouse onto it.......
We were going to wait until the chairs and the table were marked down on Clearance but we were afraid that they would be sold out before that happened as the number of them kept decreasing every time Joe looked.......
So we bought them at full price.....$30 each for the chairs and $15 for the table.....
Joe did inquire and if they drop the price on them within 30 days of purchase, we will get money back as long as we have the receipt.....
When I sit out here, I like to have another table to put magazines or a tray of food on.......
So I spray painted this small resin table pink to match the color in the cushions......
And it gives me more room to put my stuff on when I relax out here in the Patio.....
I enjoy sitting out here in the early morning with my cup of coffee and in the evening when it is nice and shady........
The Den, which was originally a porch, is now the back of our house with this being our back door.......
Hanging on the wall.......
This year, I spray painted them bright colors to go with everything that I have in the back Patio......
A garden plaque that I painted several years ago.......
I converted a non-functioning solar light into a candle holder by placing an aqua votive cup in the glass part of the solar light and then added a citronella candle to it.......
Planted in an old bistro chair is a pot of impatiens........
I put the dish under the chair to catch any water after watering ........
The back door......
A wreath hangs on the door.......
The new outdoor rugs bought at Michael's now brighten up the Patio......
And this is where I am going to leave off for today..........
In my next post, I will share the rest of the Patio.......
Including this area underneath the market umbrella.......
And the other side of the Patio.........
What I call Joe's side.............
And my Potting Table......
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......
And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

Your patio is so bright and cheerful! Great way to start the day with a quiet sit on the patio.
ReplyDeleteLove all the colors, Debbie! Very cozy looking place.
ReplyDeleteYour patio is delightful! Love the new rugs, chairs, cushions, pillows.....well....everything! Would love to sit there ( on Joe's side...lol) and have a morning cup of coffee with you!
ReplyDeleteDebbie you’ve created a cheerful and cozy backyard to relax in. The little flower pots under the bell is such a cute idea. It reminds me of the water chains you can hang off of an evestrough. Your new chairs and table look really comfortable and should be easy to care for. The little bird houses you painted are adorable. Are they demolishing that entire mall?
ReplyDeleteMorning Debbie! You have created a perfect "get-away" for you and your husband. So sweet! I have the same birdhouse from DG and also plants in an old "ice cream set" like your chair, and
ReplyDeleteI'm emailing pics to you. Enjoy your weekend!
This is so colorful, cheerful, and cute. I'm sure you enjoy sitting on your patio & enjoy the sunshine.

ReplyDeleteThe chair you are using as a planter matches the chairs from the Coke set that come to me from my grandparents' corner store that they ran back in the early 1900s. - Margy
