It has been felling like Fall around here for the past few weeks but we are supposed to get some warm temps. this week.......
It is that time of year when we start to pack away the garden art in the front of he house and decorate the front porch for Fall.....
But first, I want to Thank Julie, over at Julie's Creative Lifestyle, for featuring my post, Halloween Potion Bottles, Part 1, from last week's Cooking and Crafting with J & J party!!
Thanks so much, Julie!!
Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!
As I mentioned before, with Fall upon us, it is time to make some changes in the front of our house.....
In a previous post, I shared how the flowers in the front of our house looked after a severe wind and rain storm did a bit of damage...
The flowers did recover and this is what they looked like on Sunday.......
The marigolds in these plants had been slit by the storm......
The begonias did so well!!
The begonias in the flower boxes on each side of our small flower bed in front of the Living Room window were flattened down during that storm........
You can see that they recovered nicely!!
I want to mention that I only planted 4 plants in this flower box!!!!
You can see that the begonias in the opposite flower box also recovered........
The flowers in these urns also recovered.......
Now even though the flowers were still looking pretty good, it was time for me to decorate the front of our house for Fall so I had to change out some of the flowers.......
I had bought tri colored mums at Wegman's about a week ago because they really go fast once they get them in.......
I like that the buds are not open yet because it is early in the season......
I changed out these 2 pots in front of the porch with the mums.....
Can you believe that these large mums were only $6.99!!!!!
And I also changed out the urns with mums.......
And I also planted a yellow mum in the larger black pot on the park bench.....
I did save some of the flowers from the front and planted them in the back yard.....
Let's go out in the back yard and see how it looks in early September........
The new guinea impatiens are doing so well!!!
They are blooming more now then they did all Summer!!!
The petunias in the pot in the tall plant stand bit the dust at the end of August so I transplanted other annuals that I had in smaller pots into this pot........
I think I will go with more of the new guinea impatiens next year instead of the petunias........
The regular impatiens were starting to look a bit spent so Joe pulled them out......
I replaced the impatiens...........
With some of the begonias in this wheelbarrow planter......
I also transplanted begonias and duster millers from the front into this pot and flower box........
I had planted petunias in this large pot and now I transplanted some begonias from the front yard in it........
I replaced the petunias in this pot with other annuals that I also had in some smaller pots.......
The rest of the back yard is still looking pretty good........
I planted this plant after a neighbor gave it to me.......
This rose bush is really taking off in this pot.......
I will be planting it in the yard and hopefully, it will come back next year........
The begonias that I originally planted in the back yard are still thriving......
The sedum are blooming.......
Soon the asters will start to bloom........
These are the light purple colored ones.......
And these are the deep purple ones......
I will be showing you these again when they are in full bloom along with the mums in the front of the house......
I also want to share a beautiful sunset that we experienced one evening while sitting on our front porch.......
I will let the photos do the talking.......
Soon we will not be able to see the sunsets from our front porch as it moves to the side of our row of townhouses........
In my next post, I will share how I decorated our front porch and yard for Fall......
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......
