Today, I am sharing Part 4 in The Patio Project Series!!!
Finally, the rain has stopped but now we are in a heat wave!!!!
But there is no humidity and by Thursday, it is suppsoed be back in the 70's for high temps.
I am okay with that as I am no lover of Heat!!
I planted all the annuals in my pots in the Patio and I also bought a few things too!!
So the Patio is pretty much finished for the season except for the concrete block which we plan to paint once we get a few dry days in a row........
Let's start on my side of the Patio......
In the corner on the table.........
I planted impatiens in this pot since it is always in the shade under the awning.......
I had a lot of faux flowers left over from when I was making wreaths to sell at Craft Fairs so I took some and plopped them in this terra cotta wine cooler........
In the middle of the two windows, hanging on a hook is this chandy!!
I bought it at Big Lot's this season!!
It is a Battery operated LED light!
Here are some photos from the web site......
There are 2 bulbs that hang in the middle that change color and it is set on an automatic timer.....
The silver pieces and crystals reflect the colored lights and it looks beautiful in the evening but I will leave that for another post......
It sells for $20.00
You may remember that I spray painted this bell black and Joe added a chain instead of a rope......
I dressed it up a bit by adding a few pots.......
I used pots that I bought at Dollar Tree........
Below this, in a chair that I made into a planter, is a pot planted with begonias.......
And a small pot planted with 2 marigolds that rests in a wire planter that I painted blue, sits on the floor on the side of the chair.......
You can see that we have the chair, table and umbrella set up on the "Bump Out" part of the Patio........
I call it the "Bump Out" because I made it using pavers and "bumped out" a small area from the concrete block to have a place for a table and chair......
And yes, I laid the pavers myself!!
You may remember that I painted this bird cage yellow and once again, placed some faux flowers in a pot inside of the cage.......
Underneath the table is a small flower box bought at Dollar Tree planted with impatiens.......
Moving over to Joe's side of the patio......
The view of the garden in the mirror is looking a lot better now.....
I planted begonias in this hanging pot.....
And since this pot on top of the file cabinet that stores garden tools, is planted with petunias since it gets more sun especially in the morning......
On the potting bench are a few small pots planted with hens and chicks, marigolds and begonias......
Looking out into the yard.......
Marigolds are planted in this pot........
And impatiens in this one.......
Petunias are planted in this large urn......
And more marigolds here......
So this is how the patio looks ready for this Summer Season.......
I went cheap this year with buying all my annuals for the pots that I plant in the front and in the back of our house......
I did not buy any special plants that cost a lot and only went with flats costing $2.28 a piece from Lowes.
I only spent $66 on annuals this year compared to the $150 that I have spent for several years on annuals.....
In about a week or so, a local nursery will start their annual clearance sale on flowers.
They close out everything in their greenhouses before the 4th of July every year so they can concentrate on their landscaping business for the rest of the season.
I will then buy a few more flowers at this fantastic sale when everything is marked down to 75% off.....
I wanted to give you an update on our robin's nest........
No babies yet!!!
Soon my perennials will start to bloom and the flowers will start to fill in my pots since we are finally getting some warm weather..........
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

Your patio is so pretty this year Debbie, I know you and Joe will spend a lot of time enjoying it! Didn't you have baby birds this time last year? It's been pretty hot here too......I've been coming in from the yard about lunch time because of the heat. hugs.....
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteIt is always a treat to visit you and see what pretties you have incorporated into your decor. Your little green chair is too adorable and I will congratulate you on those upcoming baby birds!
Thank you for visiting me and the vote of confidence on sewing!
Hugs,
Jemma
You have such inspiring ideas! I will be saving this, for sure!
ReplyDeleteCherryl,
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a comment! I could not find any other way to get in touch with you so I am doing it here.
Hugs,
Deb
You have such a fun and interesting patio, Debbie. Something to look at no matter where you are out there. I love the white birdhouse on the stand and the chandy is really pretty! And what fun to have robins in your yard. I would love to have an umbrella on our deck but we live in a very windy spot. Nothing ever stands for long out there. Thanks for the peek into your lovely outdoor space. I haven't been by for a while because I've been recuperating after one of my surgeries. The other one is this week. Happy June!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sandi
Hi Deb. Your patio looks ready for summer. You have so many pretty flowers. I need to start planting some. I am really wanting some bright colors in the garden this year..Happy Tuesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteYou are ready for summer girl! Everything is looking so summery. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great. I've followed your progress on your patio and garden. I especially like the "chandelier" from Big Lots. Enjoy summertime!
ReplyDeleteNice job on laying the pavers yourself! And how clever of you to add small pots to the chain under the bell. Everything looks so cute!
ReplyDeleteit is looking just fantastic, I totally love that chandy and I bet it looks terrific out there at night time! The chair with the plant in the seat is so neat, I keep thinking I need to do that with one of my chairs but still haven't done it.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, your patio is summer ready with a bevy of annuals. Love the pots hanging from the bell and the repurposed chair as a pot container. How cute that you and Joe have your own side of the patio! Thanks for sharing at Gardens Galore!
ReplyDeleteThere's always something to do outside.... and it is fun to have things growing and changing in the growing season. :)
ReplyDeleteLots of pretties Debbie. Love the new chandy! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Wow Debbie, good on you for laying those pavers on your "bump out" - love that word. It's so apt and that chandelier is gorgeous I can't wait to see what it looks like at night. It must be so striking.
ReplyDeleteYour patio is so colorful! What a great area to sit and relax. Love the chandy :)
ReplyDeleteYou have created a fun place to relax and enjoy the outdoors!!

ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful ideas here Debbie, so inspiring :) My garden is bare at the minute. I am working on it this week before my Daughters birthday party. Thanks for sharing at Creative Mondays.
ReplyDeleteYour porch is so inviting ang I know you will enjoy it all summer. Love that "chandy".
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at Happiness Is Homemade.
Hugs,
Bev
How fun is that chandy?! Thanks for sharing your pretty patio at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteDebbie I love all those colors. Between the flowers and the painted pots and furniture it looks like a fairly land. I especially like how you hung the clay pots coming down from the bell.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun space, Debbie. I love all of the pops of color. I especially love that chandelier. Thanks for partying at Snickerdoodle. Pinning.
ReplyDeleteYour attention to detail is very evident in your whimsical patio area. You also had some great and creative ideas for stretching a dollar while making your backyard oasis. If you didn't already, laying landscape fabric underneath the pavers can help keep them from sagging and prevent weeds from growing through the cracks.
