Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
Like I already mentioned, I only decorate the china cupboard and the area around it in the Den for Saint Patrick's Day.....
This year, I made a few changes.......
I use my green Old Curiosity Shop dishes which I bought at Salvation Army for a $1.00 a dish......
I use these dishes at Christmas as they seem to have a Charles Dicken's like look to them for that Season......
And for Saint Patrick's Day because I think they also have an Irish homestead look to them too!!!
A shamrock and Jim Shore Irish angel ornaments with a Leprechaun's Hat from Dollar Tree!!!
I hung the wreath I made a few years back in the center on a wreath stand......
Placed a vintage Saint Patrick's Day post card in the center of the wreath.......
Love this Home Interiors figurine who reminds me of an Irish Lass.....
A vintage styled greeting card and a tea pot ornament bought at The Christmas Tree Shop quite some time ago....
To the side of the china cupboard is my Thomas Kinkade Calendar......
New this year is the addition of an antique funeral basket on the small table ......
Hanging above it on the side of the cupboard is a shamrock bought at Dollar Tree......
This funeral basket is usually up in my Sitting Room but when I was going through all my Craft Room supplies, I found that I had several bunches of green and white carnations that I had used to make many a wreath when I was a vendor.....
I made a bow from the green and white deco mesh ribbon that I also had left over from wreath making.....
Made the arrangement using a greenery bush, the carnations and a shamrock, 2 Leprechaun Hat picks and a small ivy bush......
An Angel and Saint Patrick ornament with another antique post card adorns the table.....
And some of the gold coins found at the end of a rainbow!!!!
I added a set of battery operated fairy lights around the handle
Sitting on a chair, that I covered with a Saint Patrick's Day dish towel, under the small table........
Is a sweet Irish Lass that sings " When Irish Eyes are Smiling"
She is dressed in tradition Irish garb like a dancer!!!!
Without the puck lights shining down on each shelf.....
With just a set of battery operated fairy lights woven through out the display.....
Green paper foil shamrock doilies.......
Middle shelf.....
Vintage Saint Patrick's Day post cards.....
I will wait to take them down until after I decorate the Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room for Easter.....
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

These decorations look fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot of green! And it is a welcome sight to me by March. I love your cabinet and your treasures.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your boys did not get to grow up with your dad. My dad was usually at work or at men's club meetings. Later he got involved with high school sports when my brothers got older. But my grandchildren are blessed with my husband. They follow him like little minis. He is so patient and always involves them in his projects.
I never do anything with St. Patrick's day so it is great fun to see all your green! It's so festive and that green is long welcome after the white winter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful display, I have never seen so many decorations for St Patricks day. It was a real feast for the eyes. I loved the old curiosity shop dishes and a real bargain find. The vintage cards here and there are a wonderful addition. Amazing that Joe did so well on the lottery cards, well done him.
ReplyDeleteSo much green! I just love your decor! It looks so good and you can tell how hard you worked on it!! Happy March!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, and happy March. You did a great job with the St. Patrick's Day decorations. I love all of that green! It's too bad they aren't celebrating it until September. :( Hope you have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteAs always Debbie, your decorations are just beautiful! Of course I was immediately drawn to that adorable bear all dressed up for the holiday. I loved the pictures of your Dad. I was 100 percent a daddy's girl too. He passed when I was 7 months pregnant with my son. Katie was only 2 so neither remember him. But since I talk about him often they feel like they knew him. So happy for Joe and his winning ticket! We have played the lottery a lot over the past few years but still waiting to have a winner! Take care and have a wonderful week!
This is the translation to Maria's comment above:
ReplyDeleteBloom where God plants you, let Him determine your path and you will feel your life is fully blessed. God, better than us, knows what we are capable of, knows our virtues and weaknesses, and He certainly has prepared for you a path filled with joys and achievements. Do not fear and move forward, let the light of your heart shine. You deserve to be very happy and God will certainly provide you with this blessing.
I have Irish and Scottish ancestry. The Irish on the Reed side of my family. I love all that green, I am starting to want to decorate with more green in my decor these days, like green tables and frames. I love St. Patricks' day and I cannot understand why it's being put off until September. I think it's plain silly. Putting a damper on joy to be had is sad. I so understand you missing your Dad. I certainly miss mine, I sometimes dream he is still here on this earth.
ReplyDeleteI decorate with a lot of red, I just adore the pops of drama in my decor. However, green is actually my favorite color, so this post was a delight. And it doesn't seem to matter how long our parents are gone, does it? My dad passed 41 years ago and I still miss him every day...xxoo
