-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since it is Monday, I an sharing a few things that I bought...
Well, sort of....
Boscov's is a family owned Department store with 52 locations through out 9 different states on the eastern seaboard....
There is one store not far from me but I really do not like that store and used to go to one about a half hour away...
Lately, I order a lot online from their site...
I ordered some clothing on Clearance for my Twin Granddaughters to gift them for Easter.....
I like to order larger sizes at the end of the seasons so they will grow into them like Winter coats, sweatsuits, Winter PJ's....
What I want to show you today is how nicely everything comes packaged when you order online from Boscov's...
They are individually hand wrapped in tissue paper and then sealed with a Boscov's sticker...
Which is why I will not be showing you what I bought because I am leaving them like this when I gift them to the twins...
I used a Boscov's gift card that my son Joey gifted me for Christmas to purchase these...
I also want to share what I received for my Birthday from my family....
My son Jim and his family gifted me this beautiful Angel to add to my Angel Collection....
I love the pink flowers....
It is battery operated and lights up....
I love how the base lights up....
They also gifted me this beauty....
This can be charged using a USB cord and has 3 levels of lighting.........
Warm White
Natural light
White light
And the top with the flowers also light up....
I LOVE them!!
My son Joey gifted me a Walmart gift card as I do order online a lot from Walmart even though I have not stepped into a Walmart in about 3 years now!
2 years ago, I thought it would be easier to put up the garland around my front door and porch railing in the Fall rather than wait until it is much colder after Halloween to decorate for Christmas outside...
I then simply removed the leaf garland after Halloween & added a few things for Christmas.....

Then around the 4th of July, I found a nice garland in my stash for the porch railing and put that up.....
In light of the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping and all the attention on the safety of Senior citizens, along with the fact that I like the front of my house lit up at night, I will be taking the advice of a FB friend who suggested that I keep up the garland after Winter.....
Outside lighting at night is one of the best deterrents of crime for anyone....
Since I worked night shift for 38 years, the front of my house was always well lit at night when I was leaving for work and that was what struck me about Nancy Guthrie's neighborhood....
HOW DARK IT IS AT NIGHT!!
I know the reason for it but I would never ever want to live in such a secluded area, where it is so dark at night, alone!
With white flowers....
My INTENTION is to attach these garlands to the evergreen garland, using it as a base like I did with the Fall leaf garland, around the front door....
I will then use the garland I bought in the Spring last year on the railing separating my porch from my neighbors, as it is similar to this one...
And then I will continue using the garland I found in my stash on the railing in front of the porch....
The evergreen garland already has LED warm white lights on it, so I will not have to add lights to it....
This I plan on doing the last week of March as we can still get snow into April here in NEPA....
So that is my new haul that I spent almost none of my own money on thanks to my kids!
The "Snow Storm" we were supposed to get yesterday night into today was a big disappointing BUST!!
At least here in what we call the Wyoming Valley.....
If you remember from my last post, the 2 local TV stations were calling for this ....
I barely got 2 inches.....
I was out to shovel this morning by 7:30 am.....
Mine and my next door neighbor's as he went to work without shoveling in front of his townhouse...
They are very nice but people his age, mid 30's, around here do not think about getting up early to shovel so no one breaks their neck like my generation did...
It was EASY PEASY!!!!!
More snow and maybe a mix predicted for later in the week.....
Today, I am going to be sharing my annual Winter/Heart Month Home Tour for 2026
Both inside and outside.....
We will start with the Front Porch and Yard....
The theme for my Winter Front Porch and Yard was mainly Snowmen and Red Cardinals....

I shared how I simply removed whatever pertained to Christmas and replaced it with some Winter decor....

When I did this post, we had no snow.....
Well, that changed after getting hit with 2 pretty significant snow storms and the coldest Winter here in NEPA in 3 decades!!!!
After a week of temps. in the 40's and then rain, most of the snow was gone, until last night....
THE LIVING ROOM
This year, I wanted to bring more Winter decorations into the Living Room along with all the Valentine's decor that I use to decorate for the entire month of February, which is Heart Month...
The Hutch is mostly decorated for Winter...

Tree # 2
This year, I did the top of the TV Entertainment Center in a Winter theme...

THE DINING ROOM
The Dining Room is my most Victorian looking room in my 1970's built townhouse....

And it is mainly decorated for Heart Month...

THE KITCHEN
The Kitchen is decorated like the front porch in a Red Cardinal and Snowman theme with a few hearts thrown in for good measure...
All I really did was take away Christmas items and replaced them with a few Valentine's things as the Snow Buddies work well for Christmas and Winter...
Tree # 6
THE DEN
The Den is decorated for Winter in a Bird, Owl and Woodland theme....
Tree # 7
Tree # 8
Tree # 9
Tree # 9
New this year, I had decided to leave up some of the things I used for Christmas in my bedroom, again taking away anything pertaining to Christmas....

And added new pink deer to the dresser....

And switched out a picture for this Winter scene....
I did not count my Victorian Lady Tree as it is not decorated for Winter or even for Christmas...
It is decorated with Victorian Lady's hats, purses, shoes, parasols, etc...
So there you have it....
My Winter Heart Month Home Tour....
With 10 Trees decorated for Winter and Heart Month....
It will stay this way until the end of February when I will start to change it over to Spring/Easter...
I am currently changing over the china cupboard in the Den to Saint Patrick's Day decor, which I will be sharing soon...
I hope you will stop by to visit again on

THURSDAY
Please take some time to visit these terrific hosts and all those joining in on the fun!
Good morning, Debbie -- What beautiful gifts your son and family gave you. I totally agree with you about living in a secluded area, dark and alone -- we've always kept outside lights on and now have a Ring camera that records any movement at night. So many people turn outside lights off when they go to bed. Stay in and keep warm -- the news reports are showing terrible weather conditions to the north of you.
ReplyDeletePatty,
DeleteIt was a beautiful day on Saturday with temps. in the mid 50's... And then it was 12 degrees this morning...Thanks for visiting!!
Hugs,
Deb
OH, Debbie D.!!! I think I came in here about 9:30, with Second Cup and have been captivated til 11:55! I can't tell you how much I love delving into your lovely vignettes and rooms and settings, with everything from door to door so entertaining and eye-catching!! I DID mark my place, just now, at that magnificent HUTCH after the Cupid's Corner, so I can pick up where I left off. I've been looking in for years, and sometimes haven't been able to find a place to comment, so here I am.
ReplyDeleteThere are no words for your dedication and talented eye and hand for capturing a scene, and my frilly/lacy/pink-loving heart is just so full right now---I LOVE the abundance of it, the carefree abandon of the ribbons and frills and so many homey and happy touches of the seasons. No WONDER Linda chose YOU for a display---we've been admiring your handiwork and details and fun scenes for years. I've been away from my own blog for several years now, with no heart or hand to want to publish, but I've recently picked up the reins and we're riding slowly, but definitely trying to get started up again. I've MISSED so many of you, and have lost several very dear friends in the interim whose lovely scenes and activities and writings BRIGHTED me every day.
Stay well and warm, Faraway Friend---I imagine you hug yourself with joy every time you awaken or return to that lively, perfectly curated, immaculately arranged home overflowing with HAPPY. rachel@ LAWN TEA BLOG
What lovely gifts! Your family loves you so much.
ReplyDeleteWe got your snow. My husband was out for 4 hours with his self propelled snowblower clearing our driveway and sidewalks as well as two neighbors. School is cancelled but luckily all the moms were cancelled too so no grandchildren today.
That was a great gift. And you are spot-on about the packaging. It's really exceptionally well done. We didn't get much snow either, and hopefully it stays that way. It's covering the ground, but barely. Hopefully, gone soon!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, your home is a winter and Valentine wonderland!
ReplyDeleteYour family knows you well, Debbie! The gifts they gave you fit you perfectly! The department store - Boscov's - where you purchased gifts for your grandtwins does a lovely job of packaging items! You are such a good planner! This post was so fun to read - to see all of your winter spaces in one place! A winter wonderland, indeed!
ReplyDeleteYour sunflower light is gorgeous! What a pretty gift! I also love the eucalyptus garland you picked up. I am looking forward to putting up some spring decor in March. It's been a little gloomy around here the last couple of days with rain and I am looking forward to next week's sunshine.

You are so lucky that the snowstorm was a bust! We got upwards of 2 feet and I was stuck in North Carolina unable to find a flight back into Providence RI for an additional 4 days (luckily we were staying with my mom!). I used to buy larger clothes for my boys at the end of the season for the following year too but they were never as prettily wrapped as your packages. I love that sunflower light. It's incredible to me that you keep up all 10 trees and decorate them for each season. They are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI always love how you decorate your home, it's always so colourful and homely, I'm jealous! A gorgeous birthday gift from Jim and family too - a beautiful angel! Sim x #SSPS
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the time to stop by and then let me know that you did by leaving such a kind comment....Glad you enjoyed the tour....
