Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And now for a few Personal Notes...
For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....
On THURSDAYS,
I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local
cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...
I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....
On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...
Last Thursday, I forgot to share last week that on Friday night when my son Joey treats, we got hoagies from Jersey Mike's....
Joey got a giant cheese steak with extra meat.....
That was only one half of Joey's....
I got a regular Club Supreme with roast beef, turkey and swiss cheese
And a chicken salad one.....
I was only able to eat the halves of each and saved the other halves for the following days....
And that is all that is different in the way of food for me for this week...
Even though I had said in my previous post that I was going to finish up the Living Room tour decorated in a Coastal/Nautical theme today, I did not get a chance to take pictures and I already had this post started.....
So I will be sharing my Update on my July Monthly Goals instead of when I originally planned to on SATURDAY....
Last year, I joined a group of Bloggers who were setting Quarterly and Monthly Goals......
My Goals are more of a To Do List for each Season....

August is usually a month with a lot of down time due to the heat and if it is very hot, I may have to add some new goals and push other ones into September like outdoor ones....
It is also a month when I need to give myself some Grace as there are a lot of dates that correspond with the birthdays and wedding anniversaries of lost loved ones along with the dates that my family lost those loved ones...
August is a very rough month for my family....
New Goals for August...

Personal Goals
On June 1st, I once again embarked on my Wellness Journey....
From June 1, 2022 to June 1, 2023 I was down 50 pounds...
Well,
in the last 2 1/2 years since my husband Joe became ill and passed away
from pancreatic cancer, I gained 18 of those pounds back....
Also in recent pictures, I noticed that I have also lost the muscle tone I had when I was walking and exercising every day....
SO........
I decided that I am going to try to lose 3-4 pounds a month but I am not going to pressure myself...
As my favorite You Tube personality
Arlynn says " I have the rest of my life to lose the weight"...
I am also going to try to do some sort of exercises daily but I am not committing to specific routine yet...
I know I will feel better, both physically and mentally and have more energy....
I just want to be the healthiest version of me that I can be.....
I can now say that I have lost 6 pounds since June 1st!!!
Slow but steady is my goal even if it is only about 3 pounds a month, which will add up....
I feel that so far for 2026, I have accomplished a lot of big projects that I wanted to do so I am pretty happy with that!!!!
I hope you will stop by to visit again on
SATURDAY for my next post....
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
And try to find JOY in every single day!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

Hi Debbie -- Your Jersey Mike's hoagies look delicious -- I love a good sandwich, especially one that is big enough to eat half and save half for another meal. You've done well with meeting your goals for the month -- you certainly do manage to keep busy. Congratulations on the weight loss -- that is always a challenge. Slow and easy is the way to go. Enjoy the rest of your week.
