Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the entry in the Living Room in a Coastal/Nautical theme....
And now for a few Personal Notes...
For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....
On THURSDAYS,
I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local
cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...
I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....
On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...
Well, what did I buy recently since it is MONDAY???
I have been stocking up on rechargeable batteries as I do go through large quantities of batteries and they add up in price pretty quickly.....
Last year, I ordered the charger from Walmart so I have stuck with the same brand of batteries.....
I have both AA and AAA.....
I also ordered these disc batteries for the candles that I have for my chandy that hangs above my bed and in a few votive cups in the sconces in the hallway upstairs.....
If you order over $35 of merchandise from Walmart that they themselves ship, you are not charged any shipping fees......
And you do not need to apply for the membership....
UPDATE on my CRAFT ROOM
I mentioned in Saturday's post that I have been working in my Craft Room...
Well,,,,,the
end is finally near....
Every tub, box, drawer
has been gone through, purged and reorganized....
The Craft Room and the Sitting Room closets are cleaned out and reorganized,....
The Craft Room furniture has been rearranged, everything is now labeled with new stickers, everything
has been cleaned and you will laugh at this one.....
The room has been
redecorated for Christmas!
I decided not to take everything down and
pack it away, only to have to bring it all out and put it up in 2
months again...
I did have to change how I decorated for Christmas as I was able to remove a shelf unit from the room and lost the top of it as a display area...
I plan on sharing all that in an August Rudolph Day post on my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas....
And the rest of the Craft Room at the end of August...
Today, on Day 8, I still have
some things to go through, take down a folding table that I use as an
extra work space that has been up for 3 years and run the sweeper before
calling this massive project DONE!!!!!
I will be sharing how my "new" Craft Room looks at the end of this month...

Today, I will be continuing my tour of the Living Room decorated in a Coastal/Nautical theme and will be sharing my Seasonal Tree in the Living Room.....
But first I want to go back to my last post when I shared that I moved the chandy that once hung here somewhere else in the Living Room......
You can see it in this picture taken earlier in the Summer.....
I seldom even turned it on when it was here....
I replaced it with an air plant as I did not want to obstruct the view of my Fur Babies portrait that was painted and gifted to me by a reader of my Blogs.........
This is where I moved it to.......
You may remember the I recently "aged" the faux brick wall in my Living Room.....
I wanted to lighten it up a bit and I am really happy with the way it looks.....
So to brighten it up even more, I realized that I had another Hook in the ceiling above the Tree where a swag lamp once hung about 40 years ago....
When I moved it over to this corner, at first I was not sure about it.....
Because I was not sure how it would work with the Tree decorated.....
I bought this about 20 years ago at 75% off for $10.....
I decided that I would leave it there and live with it and I could always take it down when I decorate for Autumn....
I then started to decorate the Tree in my Coastal/Nautical theme for late Summer....
I started with the aqua deco mesh that I made into a garland....
Next I added a rope that came right out of my storage room.....
I pretty much decorated the Tree like I have in the past ...
With many ornaments which I made from shells picked on Miami Beach by my late neighbor Elly....
She
meticulously cleaned them and separated them when she lived in Miami
during the Winters when her husband was still alive....
And her sons were going to throw them out so I rescued them and made ornaments out of them!!!!!
I also made other ornaments to decorate this Tree in an "Under the Sea" theme....
I also bought some and was gifted some over the last few years....
I am going to let the pictures of the Tree do the talking......
And now we get to the Beach under the Tree which is different this year....
The tablecloth that I used for several years saw it's last day last year.....
My late husband Joe bought this vinyl tablecloth for $1 on clearance and I was about to donate it to a church flea market when I thought the color of it looks like sand!!!
So I used it as the sand on my beach....
This was half of a mailbox cover that Joe also bought but I decided to use as a background....
I cut the other half of it to fit as a background for these lanterns that I shared in a previous post.....
I have changed up a few things on the Beach too....
To the left of the Tree.....
I added this white branch tree that I bought at Ollie's this past year.....
Wood pilings that I made from Pringles cans and shells that I decorated......
A close up taken a few years ago....
The seahorse was gifted to me by my late friend Anne Marie ....
Joe bought the mermaid in Big Lot's and I bought the sign in Dollar Tree and embellished it....
To the right of the Tree.....
I made another one like this one on my front porch and gifted it to my niece Renae....
Instead of a solar light, I placed a battery operated candle on top of the indoor one...
I am very happy with the way this decorated Tree looks with the "new" Beach and the chandy above it...
My son Joey likes the light there too because he agrees that it does light this corner of the Living Room up as it was a dark corner with just the Tree there....
I do want to mention that I have had an uplight behind the Tree for a few years now.....
And I want to finish by sharing something I usually do not get to see......
A Sunrise from my front porch!!
I was up early one day last week so these pictures where taken between 5:30 am and 5:45 am.....
The Sun rises in the mornings over the woods on the one side of me and sets over the Shopping Center on the other side of me....

Your sunrise photos are beautiful as is your "Under the Sea" tree. I love all of the handmade ornaments, too! What a charming display! Congrats on being "thisclose" to finishing your craft room project!

ReplyDeleteDebbie, I love your sunrise photos!! I often take pictures of the sunrise on my walks and then I will share them with Charles or with my brothers in our texts. I like that you put the light up above the summertime beach tree! It looks good there and good lighting makes all the difference! I kept up the Christmas wreath from my collaboration with King of Christmas for 4th of July as we like the soft light it provides over the fireplace mantel. Really beautiful how your tree and the beach below turned out! <3 Glad you finished your craft room closet. Feels good, huh?!!
