 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the top of the TV Entertainment Center for the Patriotic Holidays......

  Along with some Gifts....

And a few things I crafted....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

We have been in a heat wave for the last 6 days and it has been pretty awful with temps. above 90, breaking all records with dew points in the 70's which is considered tropical....

And again I ask, when did Pennsylvania become Tropical??????

 I must have missed that!!!

It is supposed to be better this week, Thank Goodness!!!!

We did have some thunder storms roll through the other night and we got 1 1/4 inches of rain from it which meant a day that I did not have to water!!!

I do have a few new blooms in my back yard Cottage Garden...

The Blue Balloon flower that I planted in a vintage galvanized pail last year is now blooming.....

The pail is surrounded by the Missouri Primrose that is still blooming.....

The large Loose strife off the patio has started to bloom.....

You can see in the back ground that the impatiens that I planted in those hanging pots are filling in nicely!!!

The Black Eyed Susan that I planted in this pot is really taking off!!!

And my day lily in the back of the yard is blooming...

Other years it hardly bloomed but I guess now that it gets more Sun since Joe trimmed the lilac tree back last year, it is doing much better.....

Because of the heat and humidity last week, I was stuck in the house all day with the air conditioner on so I decided to do some crafting.....

And that is what I am going to share today....

I bought this firecracker a few years ago in Michael's......

I wanted to give it more of a vintage look so I decoupaged a few vintage style tags that I had in my stash on to it......

I shared several of these political buttons that were my late neighbor Elly's in my last post...

I pinned this one.....

In the center of the bow.....

I also had 2 of these Patriotic bird houses that I bought in Gabes a few years back....

I decoupaged some vintage styled tags on them too.....

In my next post, I will be sharing where I used these in decorating the Living Room for the Summer Patriotic Holidays.....

In my last post, I shared that I made these 2 firecrackers from Pringle's cans and an old bunting that had faded so I cut it apart......

I also made this from another Pringle's can.....

I used a pom pom that Joe had got as a freebie at one of the Hockey games for the streamers......

I will be sharing more of this area in my next post......

Even though I already shared my Seasonal Tree decorated for the Patriotic Summer Holidays, I did not share the faux window.....

It is a bit different this year....

I made these vintage looking plaques last year and hung the pair on each side along with the Bells that I bought at Christmas from Big Lot's.....

I thought the bells would be appropriate for the Patriotic Summer Holidays because of the Liberty Bell and the whole "Let Freedom Ring" thing..........

The USA sign came from Dollar Tree a few years ago....

And I made this wreath a very long time ago.....

I made these stars last year from metal stars bought at Dollar Tree.....

I hung 2 of them on the mirror along with another Dollar Tree sign.....

And the other plaque.....

I wanted a pop of red here on the sofa so I decided to use the pillow covers I made for Valentine's Day...

The fabric is velvet like with embossed roses on it....

Another project I did last week was I turned this place mat into a pillow by simply opening it up, as it had 2 layers,  and stuffing it with some polyfiber fil....

I then did a cross stitch all around the border.....

The throw came from one of the Veteran's charities that Joe used to donate to....

I also made a few new ornaments for my Patriotic Tree.......

I painted 2 wood plaques that I had and decoupaged vintage style tags on them and trimmed them with red wired tinsel trim....

And after seeing small Patriotic bells that someone bought in Hobby Lobby in a You Tube video, I decided to make my own from small Dollar Tree clay pots that I had in my stash......

I painted them and wrote USA on them,,,,,

I added bows made from blue ribbon with gold stars on it which is actually Christmas ribbon....

And I added a piece of blue and white ruffled lace to the bottom of the larger one as it was all that I had left of this lace .....

I forgot to mention in my post about my Patriotic Tree that I used red bow ornaments, that Joe bought in Big Lot's at 90% off after Christmas, on it this year....

I hung a few things I also made from the drapery rod of the window.....

 I made this last year....

The other ones on the side were made several years ago.....

I like the vintage look of them.....

On the vintage 3 tiered table on the side of the Entertainment Center....

I wanted to display this amazing hand made card that my dear FB friend Angela sent to me....

Just gorgeous!!

And even though I already shared the top of the Entertainment Center......

I forgot to share this vignette in front of it.....

 Celebrating Independence Day!!!

The book on the left was gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie and the box sign on the right came from Gabes.....

An Avon Fostoria cobalt blue pitcher with Mount Vernon on it, bought for 99 cents in Salvation Army.......

And another Liberty Blue dish, which is a saucer but I opted not to use the matching tea cup.........

Another political pin added to a Dollar Tree tinsel star and another sign from Gabes....

"American as Apple Pie"

And this is where I will leave off for today.....

  1. Hi Debbie,
I can relate to the heat except here in CA we don't have the humidity which would drive me crazy. It looks like you're all ready for the 4th. Every time I see your home I just imagine how the girls will react when they go to Mimi's and see different decorations for each holiday. It will be magical for them. Stay cool and thanks for sharing.

    1. PJ,
Thanks so much for your sweet words especially about how the twins would react...Someone once told me that I had better stop decorating the way I do so that the girls do not get hurt when they come to my house and that I do not care about their safety if I do not change the way I decorate....Can you imagine that????Some people can be so hurtful and think nothing of meddling in our people's business so I truly do appreciate your kind comment....
      Hugs,
      Deb
