Easter/Spring Home Tour, 2021

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

Can you believe that Easter is this weekend already???????

Is it just me or is this year really going by quickly?????

Okay, maybe it is just me because I always seem to be so busy but I do like it that way.....

I have now packed away Christmas in the Craft Room and converted the Tree over from the way it was decorated for Christmas.....

.

To this, my Summer Tree....

I didn't want to start packing away Christmas in the Sitting Room this week because it is Holy Week and I will be doing a lot of cooking for our Easter dinner for my family .......

Also, the Sitting Room upstairs has more Christmas decorations in it than all the other rooms upstairs so I am putting it on hold until next week.....

However, since I finished my huge photo organizing project, I was finally able to take down and put away this table that I have had up for 2 years.....

And since I did that, along with cleaning out all my Craft supplies in February, I thought it is time to take a good look at the whole room and maybe change up a few things.....

Truth be told, my Craft Room looks pretty much the same as it did when I made it into a Craft Room after my son, Joey moved out over 10 years ago....

So now that I have the time, I am rethinking and re-doing some things in this room.....

It needs a bit of a freshening up and that is what I hope to accomplish this week.....

Will keep you posted.....

Our son Joey received his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday at one of my former employer's clinics...

He qualified because he is a smoker.....

So far, so good with side effects...

Joe received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine a few week ago at Sam's Club....

All he got was a slight headache that evening....

I think the only reason why Joe consented to receive it is because he was afraid that if he did not get vaccinated, he would not be able to attend Hockey games at our Arena in person!!

Me......

Well, I need to speak with my family Doctor first about all my health issues and allergies before I make my decision....

My son Jim and DIL will not be getting the vaccine because of their concern over long term side effects which is a very valid concern....

It is their choice and the one thing that I learned from my Mother is to NOT meddle in my son's lives by expressing unwanted opinions and criticizing their choices....

It is what drove me away from my Mother many times and I will not do that to my family....

I worked with a very wise woman who had 4 children who always said...

" You raise your children to grow up and LEAVE you"

Meaning.......

"Keep your nose out of your children's business once they are adults"

Something I have hopefully, successfully managed to do....

Speaking of my Mother.....

17 years ago, she was buried today on April Fool's Day....

Every year, we always laugh because that day as we were all sitting in the funeral home waiting to go to the church, Joe looked at my Mother and said....

"You know she is going to sit up in that casket and yell out April Fool's!!!!!!!

The other people that were there must have thought we were all insane because we were literally rolling in laughter because we could all picture her do that to spite us all!!!!

LOL!!

Today, even though I did a room by room tour of our townhouse decorated for Spring/Easter,  I will be sharing my annual Spring/Easter Home Tour......

I really do not do much decorating outside for Spring/Easter because here in NEPA, we could be in the high 60's one day and have Snow predicted the next day.....

We had snow predicted for this morning .....

And Mother Nature did not disappoint......

This is what I woke up to this morning......

It is not uncommon that we see an average of 3-4 inches of snow here in April with frost well into May.....

So I just put my Spring Wreath on the front door......

And put out some Easter flags......

And that is about it for Spring....

We still have shovels and a canister of Ice Melt on our front porch so it does not present for a good photo op!!!

 Moving inside......

Now that is a different story as Spring has definitely sprung inside our townhouse.....

I am going to let the pictures do most of the talking......

The Powder Room

And even though the Snow Buddies are packed away until next November, one lone Easter Snow Buddy remains......

I have no idea where I found these black eggs with pink speckles on them!!!!!

I placed them in one of my pink depression glass bowls.....

And that completes my tour of our townhouse decorated for Spring/ Easter.....

I will leave up these decorations for most of the month of April before I pack them away and change over the Living Room to my Summer Patriotic decorations......

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter weekend!!!

I hope that you all get to spend it with those you love whether it be in person or via the phone or Zoom......

We will be celebrating Easter with a family dinner of turkey, ham, kielbasi, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and gravy, sausage filling and corn.......

I hope to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies too...

I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. We had a bit of snow -- mostly flurries -- last night. The poor blooms outside were drooping!

It's all really quite something, Debbie. Love the bunnies and eggs, especially. The carrot and egg tree remains my favorite! The wreaths are so lovely, too!

  3. Snow! Oh my! I hope it warms up soon, Deb. Your Easter tour was amazing. There is so much fun and happiness in your lovely home and I so appreciate you sharing with us. I put out my spring wreath too. I revamped it with some new flowers. Love all of your Easter trees. I can not choose a favorite. Have a very Happy Easter Hugs

  4. I love your spring wreath! I am planning to work on making one for our front door this weekend. We had snow flurries in the forecast last night and I was almost afraid to get up and look outside this morning. We have ice in a few spots and it's very cold but no snow. We've had snow as late as mother's day before so I never take the nice spring weather for granted.

  5. I always wonder where you store all your pretty things during other seasons. You have collected so many. What a blessing!

  6. SO pretty, Debbie. I love all the bright florals. The colors are amazing. Oh...and wise parenting words. I am trying to take it all in and stay out of things as my kids get older. It's not easy, especially when they still live at home! ;) Happy Easter!!

  8. Beautiful Deb! I love the picture of your Mom and the story! I love it all. You do such an amazing job of pulling it all together and creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My daughter also is not ready to vaccinate for the same reasons. I'm sure my tongue is black and blue from biting it so many times. She doesn't feel there are enough studies out there to put aside her fears when it comes to having kids some day. I think eventually she will get there but like you, for the moment I'm keeping quiet. I was honest when she asked my thoughts but now I need to just pray and respect her decision. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful week!
