Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

I
enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and
commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have

And now for a few Personal Notes...
I had a busy weekend!!
On Saturday afternoon, my sister Barb and I went to see Cirque Du Soliel's OVO at the Arena 5 minutes away from my house!!
It has been over `10+ years since any Cirque shows came to our Arena...
Prior to that, Joe and I had the privilege of attending 3 of their shows and we were awe struck!!
Cirque shows have that European flair and are very different from American circus shows...
I am going to share a few pics posted by our Arena, Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza, taken at the 5 shows that were offered this weekend!!
OVO had an Insect heme...
Pictures Courtesy of Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza.....
The show was absolutely amazing!!
25 different Countries had artists participating in this fantastic show!!
"EVERYONE IS WELCOME!"
We had a wonderful time!
On Sunday, I helped out with an Easter Egg Hunt and Party hosted by my church in conjunction with the town where the church is located, Laflin...
The Easter Bunny was driven through the streets to see the children on a Fire Truck before arriving at our Parish Center....
The parish center was decorated beautifully!!
There were games, crafts and coloring pages for the children to do.....
And there was an area set up for families to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.....
The Laflin Recreation Board rents a back drop for these events....
And the new chair that they ordered in November for the Christmas Party, finally came in in February as it got lost on the docks somewhere...
This chair allows the older children to sit along side the Easter Bunny and Santa....
This picture is of one of the families that I know who I got permission to post their picture....
Chicken Nuggets, homemade Mac N Cheese, made by our Hall manager and maintenance guy, was served along with cookies and drinks...
I helped dish out the food....
We had to hold the Easter Egg Hunt out in the large church vestibule as the grass was too wet from all the rain we received overnight...
It was an enjoyable afternoon seeing all the children so happy!
And I even got a job offer, of all things!!
Laflin offered me a paid position as a Summer Camp Counselor for 6 weeks for 3 hours for 3 mornings each week...
I graciously declined as I would have to go through all the screening when you work with children and the fact that being outside for 3 hours straight in the heat and humidity in July some days would pretty much kill me....
But it was nice that I was asked...
Today, I am going to start my tour of the last room in my townhouse decorated for Easter, the Kitchen...
The chalkboard......
The color theme for the Kitchen for Easter is orange, yellow and red....
The cross was gifted to me by my Mother....
I embellished the egg sign....
I decorated the Tree in those same colors....
I made the topper for the Tree using some carrots picks and stakes...
This year, I decided to change over to orange and white checked ribbon from the black and white checked ribbon that I used previously to make my bows...
I bought the orange and white checked one in Dollar Tree, along with this solid orange ribbon, in the Fall....
I made the carrots and yellow chicks for this Tree....
I did use a carrot garland on this Tree....
I actually did the hutch a bit differently for Easter this year....
For the first time, I placed a ceramic yellow pitcher and a vintage yellow enamelware coffee pot on top of the hutch and filled them with some red berry florals.....
Along with a set of vintage salt and pepper shakers and egg cups....

I made a new bow for the hutch.....

The top shelf.....

This year I tried to use mostly Easter decor to decorate the hutch along with some vintage pieces like a green fiesta ware plate....

The bottle brush carrot is from Dollar Tree and that is a vintage paper mache egg inside of a vintage egg cup.....

I hung this bunny sign that Joe bought on clearance in the center.....

I kept out the black and white Holiday Harlequin tea pot from my Winter decor....
A moss covered bunny is to the side.....
The bottom shelf....

"Carrots" I made out of styrofoam eggs.....

Placed in an egg carrier bought at Michael's.....
A smaller vintage paper mache egg placed in a red votive cup.....
And another moss bunny.......
I also hung an Easter plaque in the center......
A yellow vintage fiesta ware plate and vintage egg.....

I made the "carrots" out of plastic cones I had in my stash......

I hung small Easter plates on each side of the hutch....

I bought the lighted Easter cloche in Big Lot's a few years back.....
I bought the yellow bottle brush carrot in Dollar Tree this year....

The carrot house came from Dollar Tree.....
I framed a print of carrots that I bought at a yard sale....
I love the pair of bunnies in Victorian attire.....
A Egg tray placed on top of a vintage yellow fiesta ware platter.....

Along with some eggs and beads bought at Dollar Tree....

Underneath the hutch.....

On top of a vintage metal picnic basket....

A few bunnies on top of a vintage green fiesta ware platter....

An Easter tussie mussie I made a few years ago.....

I hung a few carrots and eggs in the door way to the Den.....

On the side of the Stove.....
I did a new floral arrangement in the grater this year, using new yellow flowers I picked up at Ollies and some carrot and egg picks....
Instead of going and buying a new Easter towel, I used a plain orange one that I had in my stash, shopping my own home....
And this is where I am going to leave off for today.....
In my next post on THURSDAY, I will be sharing more of the Kitchen decorated for Easter!!!
