Easter Weekend and Tablescape, 2020

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

UPDATE: I APOLOGIZE IF YOU ARE SEEING LARGE WHITE BOXES WHERE SOME PICTURES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE...

WE HAVE NOTICED THIS ON MY BLOG AND ON OTHER BLOGS AND I DO NOT KNOW WHY IT IS HAPPENING...

IT IS AN ISSUE ON BLOGGER AND THEY DO KNOW IT IS HAPPENING ON MULTIPLE BLOGS....

HOPEFULLY, IT WILL BE CORRECTED SOON....

Today, I will be sharing a bit of our Easter celebration and my very simple Easter tablescape......

But first, Thanks Colleen at Butterfly in the Attic, Darlene at Let It Shine and Mel at Decor Craft Design, who are the Creative Week Hosts for the month long You're the Star Blog Hop!    They chose my post, Pink Easter Dining Room Tree, as one of their features for the month of March!!!
Thanks so much, Ladies!!

Also Thanks to Rebecca over at Zucchini Sisters, for choosing my post, Easter Peat Pots, as one of her features from last week's Celebrate Your Story Link Party!!!

Thanks so much, Rebecca!!

And I also want to Thank, Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for also choosing my post, Easter Peat Pot Baskets as one of her features from last week's Over the Moon Link Party!!
Thanks again, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to these great parties!!!

In my last post, I shared my good friend Anne Marie's home decorated for Easter.......
Click HERE if you missed that post....

Now for some Personal Notes.......

This weekend was pretty busy......

On Good Friday, we were treated to Take Out dinner from one of our favorite places, Valley Seafood, by our son, Joey, who is living with us now for the duration of this health crisis.......

Joey does not like fish so we got chicken fingers for him along with macaroni and cheese, fries and scallops for Joe and I!!
This is the same place where we get our fish for our Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve dinners......

Everything was so good!!!

Later that evening, we were surprised by a socially distanced visit from our Niece Renae and our great nieces who gifted me this pretty Easter flower.......
And brought me one of the home made cheese buns that Renae baked for Easter!!!
It was so good to see them and of course we blew them kisses and wished them Happy Easter!!!!

Since the Senior Class of 2020 has pretty much lost the rest of their Senior year, it has been going around on Face Book asking everyone to post their Senior picture to honor the Class of 2020.....

So to honor our great niece Cortney, here is my Senior picture........
Class of 75.....

And here is Joe's!!!!!!
 Class of 72!!

Get a load out of that hair!!!  I did not know him then!! LOL!!

On Holy Saturday, Joe decided to go to Lowe's to get mulch for the yard......

He went into the store and went straight to the Garden Center where he paid the cashier who was in a glass enclosed  booth......

The cashier then came out and unlocked and opened the garden center entrance for Joe to go to the car and pull around the side where our car was loaded with the mulch.......

Nice set up.......

Here is Joe spreading 3 bags of red mulch around the back yard.......
Notice he uses the grab and toss method......
Not too bad of a job......
You can see by the large slope behind us, between our row of townhouses and the row behind us, why we have to use only our front door to enter our house.......
Joe decided to trim the Lilac Tree in the back yard........
To haul all these branches through the house, he had to cut them up.......

 He enlisted Joey's help....

You can see Joe laughing when I had to run and take pictures of our computer/electronics geek son doing manual labor and with gloves on no less!!!!!
I don't think we have seen this in 38 years!!!!
After all, he has to earn his keep!!

LOL!!

Joe then put dark brown mulch down in the front yard.......

You can still see the back of Lowe's through the trees on the left and above the houses across from us to the right, you can see the VA hospital that is located up the hill from us......
You can see Joe down in our parking lot.......
Putting the mulch on the huge slope in front of our house.....
While he was doing all this yard work, I was cooking a half a boneless ham.........
A ring of regular Kielbasi......
And a ring of cheese Kielbasi.......
For our Easter Dinner.......

I also made my Dad's recipe for Sausage Filling.......
Click HERE if you would like the recipe......

On Easter Sunday morning, I made a turkey breast for Easter Dinner......
Joe has always been the one to carve the turkey......
We enjoyed a great Easter Dinner with our family......

We had Polish Nut Roll and Renae's cheese bun for dessert along with ice cream......
So good!!

Monday morning, we experienced extremely high winds associated with a storm system......

We lost power twice and apparently the power surge when it came back on, fried the hard drive in the tower of my main computer.......

Luckily, I now have my very own IT Specialist living here!!

Like his Mother has a stash of craft and remodeling supplies, Joey has a stash of computers and monitors and cables.......

Since we also lost Cable, Internet and our land line Phone for almost 24 hours, Joey was not able to work from home at his apartment right up the road....

So he set me up with an almost brand new tower and a new Dell High Definition Monitor!!!!
It also gave me a chance to give the computer armoire a much needed good cleaning along with going through manuals and tossing what was no longer needed!!!

Once we got Internet back, he hooked me up and I am thrilled with the new monitor and how fast the whole system is!!!
So I guess that sometimes having your hard drive fried is a Blessing in disguise....

And Joey definitely earned his keep with this one and made his Mom one Happy Camper!!

Also on Monday, Joe came home from working at Wegman's with these 3 lovely bouquets of flowers.....

This one was $8.00....
This one was $12.......
And a dozen red roses for $12......
They were all on Clearance for $1.00 a piece!!!!!

I combined the first 2 bouquets in a crystal vase......
And I put the dozen red roses in this vintage milk glass vase......
It was a nice surprise!!

Later that night as the rain finally stopped and the sky began to clear, I went out on the front porch and took a few pictures........

We did not have any damage to our house but you can see that roofing shingles are missing on one of my neighbor's houses and the gutter is pulled away from the house on the end......

A shelf cloud over the VA Hospital........
Over the mountains across the Susquehanna River.......
Over the large flag by the road that goes around the mall and shopping centers by our house.....
Over Lowe's roof.....
The Sun peeking out on the left.....
I am thankful for the amazing view that we have of the sky from our front porch.......

Now, on to my Easter tablescape......
I set a very simple tablescape for Easter Sunday Dinner.....
I stated with a plaid tablecloth that I bought last year on Clearance....
I then added a plastic lace looking place mat.....
For the place settings, I started with my $1.00 gold trimmed plates that I bought at the Christmas Tree Shop....
You may remember that I bought these melamine egg shaped Easter dishes at Tuesday Mornings a few weeks back.......
I then added these cute Easter Bunny napkin holders that I bought at Gabes....a set of 4 for $2.99!!
And finished off the place settings with my gold flatware and  crystal stemware.......
I wanted a simple centerpiece that I could easily take off the table so I could put the food on the table.....
So I borrowed my childhood Easter Basket from underneath the Living Room Easter Tree......
I also borrowed Bunnies from the Dining Room buffet and placed them on each side of the basket.....
There is a set of battery operated fairy lights wrapped around the handle of the basket....
We celebrated Easter just like we do every year and had a great Holiday!!!

I do hope that you enjoyed seeing my Easter tablescape....

I hope you had the BEST Easter possible with your family under these circumstances.....

In my next post. I will be sharing my Fairy Garden Mantel on my faux fire place in the Sitting Room......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

I like cooking and baking like you, but don't post most of it, since usually my kitchen is so full of things and stuff not perfect for the photos, lol.. I do like posting the baking work, hihihi...
You look so pretty on your graduation pic.

  5. Hi Debbie: You really set a pretty table for Easter. I love those bunny plates. That looked like quite a storm and those skies looked threatening. Glad you didn't get any damage to your home. Looks like three bags of mulch went a long ways. It is always such a good feeling when things get refreshed. We are having such a beautiful day here today, I'm wondering if our nurseries are going to be open. I will imagine everybody needs and wants to get into the garden..Stay well, my friend..xxoJudy

  9. We had that storm on Monday too and had powerlines down everywhere. We lost power a few times but thankfully we had it back pretty timely each time. I love those Easter bunny egg shaped plates; they're so cute. All the food looks so delicious and I just love all those fresh flowers you got. Thanks for sharing with us at Encouraging Hearts and Home. Pinned.

  12. What a wonderful Easter weekend :) (minus the storm, of course)
The cheese bun looks delicious, and your Polish nut bread looks very much like a recipe I make for my family every Easter - a tradition passed down from my Croatian grandmother.
Thank you for sharing your days with us at this week's Encouraging Hearts & Home blog hop!
