It has been one heck of a hot Summer.........

Too hot for my liking to be honest!!!

I am No Lover of Heat, Fall and Winter are my favorite Seasons!!!

But I am hanging in there and trying to keep my flowers alive by watering when we do not have any rain in a few days........

So let's take a look to see how my small Cottage Garden is doing.......

We will start on the left side........
My petunias are doing pretty well in this pot.......
My new pink gazing ball........
I have no idea what this perennial is called but I had to trim it back a bit!!
And this one is starting to bloom with it's tiny pink flowers.....
Several pots planted with annuals.....
New Guinea Impatiens.......
More Impatiens......
Another New Guinea Impatien.........
Looking at this area from across the yard.......
The left side of the back of the yard.......
One of my new Metal Garden Flowers.......
Lilies blooming.......
And annuals thriving in this galvanized container.......
The back gate which we do not use as access is almost impossible.......
Another New Guinea Impatien.......
The impatiens that I planted in these hanging bags were filing in nicely.......
Until a squirrel jumped from the tree and landed on the left flower bag!!!!!
You can see how some of the flowers got broken off!!!!

Darn squirrel!!!!

The begonias are doing well in this pot on top of the milk can........
A planter planted with impatiens......
Let's take a look at the middle area of the yard.......
Another new piece of garden art in the back by the fence.......
The hosta's always do good in the shade........
You can tell I had fun with buying those metal garden stakes for $10 each at a Tornado Damage Sale at a Furniture and Home Decor store!!!!
Another gazing ball.........
More impatiens........
A vintage galvanized watering can planted with more impatiens......
In early July, this lily bloomed with vibrant colored blooms!!!!
Such a pretty color!!
Joe bought this plant on clearance at Wegman's a few years ago!!!!!
Over on the other side of the middle section of the yard.......
Annuals planted in a pot in a vintage bistro chair........
When I bought my new pink gazing ball, I did not have a pedestal to display this gazing ball that I have had for several years on........
We had an old piece of PVC pipe from a previous project so Joe pounded some stakes into the ground and placed the PVC pipe over them and then placed the gazing ball into the PVC pipe!!!!!
Gnome Land in the Garden!!!
That is sedum behind the "Door" which will bloom in August.........
I transplanted this perennial from my neighbor's yard last year and it really took off!!!!!
I have already had to cut it back a bit because it kept getting caught up in the market umbrella whenever I opened or closed the umbrella!!!!!
The right side of the yard, looking at the shed in the back corner.......
A pot on a plant stand planted with a Gerber Daisy but I think that petunias are popping up which may have reseeded themselves from last year........
A non-functioning fountain is now a bird bath for our feathered friends!!
Another gnome.......
Another gazing ball and more garden art.......
I like the reflection from the gazing ball on the lattice......
One of my Fairy Garden tubs at the edge of the Patio......
In my previous posts, I shared our small Patio of the back of the house.......
If you missed these posts...........

And HERE......

I call our little Cottage Garden, My Secret Garden.......

Even though I live in a townhouse with a house attached to each side of us and another row of townhouses behind us up on a little hill.......

Our Patio and Cottage Garden are very private!!!!!

This is my view while sitting on our Patio...........
Between the lattice that we added to our chain link fence and the trees planted by ourselves and our neighbors, NO ONE can see into our yard and Patio!!!!!!

I hope you enjoyed my July Tour of my little Cottage Garden!!!!

In my upcoming posts, I will be sharing my late Summer "Under the Sea" Tree and decorations in my Living Room!!!!
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

  1. Your garden is so lovely, and I am always amazed at how many plants you manage to fill it with. I love those impatient bags, very unique. The plant with the lavender spikes that you did not know the name of is called catmint or nepeta - and it looks like the variety called Walkers Low. If you cut it way back after it blooms, you should get more flowers in the fall.

  3. Hi Deb, your little secret garden is so cute, so many pretty flowering plants you must live somewhere it doesnt get super hot, I would have to water 3 times a day to keep all those pretty plants happy! I have wondered if the doves ever come back to nest in the hanging planter?
Hope you can stop by and share on Friday Features this week!
    Have a lovely weekend!
    Hugs

  4. Hi Debbie - I always enjoy your garden tours. In spite of the heat, your flowers are looking beautiful and very healthy. The perennial that you didn't know the name of is Catmint, probably Walker's Low. I have to give mine a good haircut a few times a summer. Stay cool and happy gardening!

  9. All your plants and flowers are doing great! That plant you are’t sure what it is might be a mint plant or catnip.
