Snowman and Red Cardinal Winter Counter Bar, 2026

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS

I enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I shared more of my Kitchen decorated for Winter with Red Cardinals and Snowmen....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....

On THURSDAYS, I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...

I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....

On MONDAYS, I will be featuring What I Have Bought or Been Gifted Recently, if anything...

With today being SATURDAY, the only place that I actually went to this past week was the DMV to get my Driver's License Photo taken...

All DMV's in the state of PA. were closed on Monday and Tuesday....

I think because of that, people waiting for roads to get cleared better from the snow and also people waiting for it to warm up from 1 degree yesterday morning, there was at least 100 people there when I got there at 11 am!!

The parking lot was full and there was almost standing room only inside!

Luckily for me, after 10 minutes of waiting, my friend Trish, who owns the house next door to me, walked in...

We spent the next 55 minutes catching up and having a good time...

Yes, I was there over an hour!!

First time that ever happened to me!

I also finished decorating the Living Room for Winter/Valentine's!

It took me much longer than I thought it would as the snow storm kept me busy...

I am starting the Dining Room today which should not take me too long as I used a lot of things from Christmas in creating Winter vignettes in the Living Room...

I do want to share a few pictures I took the other day after the snow, trying to capture the elusive "Blue Hour"....

As dawn was getting closer....

Not quite the "Blue Hour", which looks like this as I took these pictures a few years ago...

And that was just pure luck....

Today, I am finally finishing up my tour of the Kitchen decorated for Winter in a Snowman and Red Cardinal theme...

The last area of the Kitchen I want to share with you is the counter bar.....

On the side of it is a plaid rag rug....

Don't worry, there is a rubber mat under it so I do not go flying...

I added this cute towel with a recipe for Gingerbread cookies to the antique washboard, leaving the vintage copper reindeer cookie cutter out after Christmast.....

I designed and then had a friend build this counter bar for me as I needed more counter space and storage in my very small Kitchen.....

I keep a garland above the counter bar year round using it as a base for decorating it for the different Holidays and Seasons....

I did do it a bit differently this year...

Red and black plaid and Red Cardinal ribbon was used for bows hung on each end and in the center of the garland....

I decorated the garland with plaid bird houses, Cardinals, owls and snowballs.....

Also snowflakes and hot cocoa mug ornaments....

A Snowman hangs in the center...

Large snowflake ornaments that I made hang on each end with Scrabble letters spelling out Snow on the left one and Flake on the right one....

 The left side....

New this year, I decided that these sweet deer face plates needed to be seen so I hung them on each side of the counter bar...

I hung heart ornaments on the shutters....

Also new this year, I placed the beautiful Red Cardinal Tea for One pot, gifted to me by my nieces, on the red mercury glass candle holder....

And this is also the first year that I displayed the Snowman I made out of a clay pot here on top pf a canning jar with a Red Cardinal inside of it....

I placed the sweet deer mugs on top of penguin plates...

I bought these cute napkins several years ago on clearance...

I used a heart runner and a Red Cardinal place mat on top....

Vintage crocheted rose doilies are on top of the red mercury glass candle holders....

Behind the stained glass lamp, that was my late neighbor Elly's, is a white ceramic Tree that my late husband Joe bought on Clearance in Big Lot's for 90% off several years ago

The right side.....

The Red Cardinal tea pot that I bought to match the other piece that was gifted to me...

And another Snowman I made on top of another canning jar with a Red Cardinal inside of it...

I smile every time I see this sweet face....

Winter greenery with a Red Cardinal inside the top of a coffee grinder....

I left out the gingerbread mug from Christmas and filled it with granola bars...

I filled the deer mugs with cough drops and some peppermint candy , which is good for GI issues.....

The cafe curtain that I made from a tablecloth.....

And a Red Cardinal rug that I bought at a church flea market for $1!!

On the right side of the counter bar...

I hang the flashlights, a head band one and a Triple Light that I use all the time here...

I filled this bird pot, that Joe bought me at Wegman's many years ago, with Winter greenery and a bird's nest....

And that finally completes my tour of the Kitchen decorated for Winter....

I took my time this year and really enjoyed decorating with INTENTION this year, seriously thinking about how I wanted things to look....

And I have thoroughly enjoyed this process as it allowed my imagination and creativity to flow freely...

For those of you in the path of the Nor'easter on the southern east coast, stay safe and warm....

We here in NEPA are thanking God that it will miss us because I have no idea where we would even put another foot of snow!!!

I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY when I will be starting my tour of the Living Room Decorated for both Winter and Valentine's....

I am looking forward to sharing some of the changes I made this year....

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

And try to find JOY in every single day!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
