Can you believe that July 4th is tomorrow?????
This year seems to be flying by!!!
Or is it just me????
I hope you all get to spend some time this Holiday with those that you love!!
We will be having our family Independence Day celebration on Tuesday, July 8th, when my son and DIL are off as they are working the Holiday and the weekend.....
Today, I will be sharing how I decorated my Front Porch and Yard for the week of July 4th!!

I also will be sharing a few new things for the Front Porch and Yard that I recently bought!!
One of them is this beautiful Porch sign that I commissioned my great niece Caitlin to create for me!!!

I enjoyed a nice visit with my great nieces Carly and Cait when they came to drop off the sign......

Carly will be a Junior in High School in September and works at a Day Care....
Cait works as a Pharmacy assistant and will be starting her 3rd year in a local college Nursing Program....
Their older sister Cortney is working as an RN in one of the local hospital's ICU's, along with her boyfriend, John...
Caitlin is a talented artist and has submitted her art work to the largest state fair in PA., the Bloomsburg Fair, and has been awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place, along with honorable mention for her pieces of Art!!
I wanted a Porch sign with cardinals on it because of the saying.....
This is the draft that she made for me to look at....
I told her that I wanted yellow flowers to match the color theme of my front porch....
And here is the finished project!!
I like how she drew a cardinal in place of the O in Welcome"!!
She also made me this matching sign.....
Did I mention that I just LOVE these?????
Okay, now let me show you where I put these stunning new creations for my Porch!!
I placed the Porch sign in front of the middle pillar between my porch and my next door neighbor's......

They are good with it because it may help delivery people find their house as they only have a small house number on their front door....
And I love that it is tall enough to see it from the parking lot in front of our row of townhouses!!!!

What you see when walking up those 13 steps from my parking lot.....
I love how the Porch sign stands out against the white pillar.....

I wrapped a thin wire around the sign and the pillar to hold the sign in place so it will not blow over as it gets quite windy here.....
I am really looking forward to returning it to it's normal decor for the Summer to see how my new signs look....
I do want to point out the black rugs on the porch.....
I picked up this Welcome rubber mat for only $8 in Gabes and it fit perfectly over the larger black mat that I had bought in Ocean State Job Lot.....
Look at how well the Porch sign goes with the pot filled with faux flowers....
Flags and a red, white and blue bow added to the top of the lantern....
Same Patriotic wreath on the door as for Memorial Day....

I hung the same Patriotic signs from the weeping mortar as I did for Memorial Day.....

And now added my new sign that matches the Porch sign!!

In the corner of the porch......

I again flipped the pillows over on the chairs from the floral side to the solid black side....

Same as for Memorial Day except that the Family, Friends and Freedom sign was hung somewhere different....

An "America the Beautiful" flag.....

Also new is the faux garland that I added to the railing after finding it in my craft stash.....
And I also bought these new solar lights in Ollies and added them to the railing....
I once again tucked flags into the planters filled with faux flowers in front of the railing....
Right before Memorial Day, I bought this metal Uncle Sam in Ollies....
Before I leave the front porch, I wanted to share this orange folding table that I bought in Gabes for $12.....
It provides some extra table space when I am out on the porch reading and I also use it to put my lap top on....
Another thing that I recently bought in Ocean State Job Lot is this bug zapper/light for $9,99....
When I am not using the table, I fold it up and store it behind one of the chairs....

The front flower bed under the Living Room window.....

Coleus is planted in the planter under the mailbox that I store garden tools in....
I hung a basket filled with red, white and blue flowers on the window.....

I added some flags to the pots filled with hostas....
Dollar Tree red, white and blue flower yard stakes were also added to the pots....

The flower bed on top of the slope in front of my row of townhouses.....

A Patriotic mini flag......
I added more flags and a fire cracker yard stake to the pots on the park bench.....

I also ordered something new for this area that pays homage to my late husband Joe's love of Pittsburgh sports....

The picture of Joe, in his 25th Anniversary Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins hockey jersey, is the same picture I used for his obituary....

We were Season Ticket Holders to the Pittsburgh Penguins AHL team, that plays its games in the Arena 5 minutes from our house, for 25 years........

I think it turned out really nice.....
Under the bench is a paver and stone that my son Joey had gifted Joe....
Joe bought the Penguins and Steeler gnomes in Five Below......
Another Patriotic mini flag.....

I recently bought 2 of these from Amazon......

One for the bird bath in the front and one for the one in the back yard......
I do enjoy watching and listening to it when I am sitting on the porch.....
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated the Front Porch for the week of July 4th using some new things.....
It will stay like this until next week after I host my family Independence Day celebration on Tuesday, July 8th when my son Jim and DIL Danielle are off....
Wishing you all a very Happy and Safe July 4th weekend!!!!
And I hope you will stop by to visit again on SATURDAY for my next post!!
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

I just love the Welcome sign - your niece is so talented. Lovely young ladies, too! And it will be helpful to see the number from the street. I think it looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe memorial stone is perfection. That is the Joe we all remember in his favorite jersey. It is a sweet and thoughtful remembrance.
Absolutely gorgeous! Have you ever thought about opening a little bar on your porch? I bet it would be packed all the time! 🙂
