Wishing all of you a safe Holiday weekend....

I hope you get to spend some of this Holiday weekend with those that you love....

We will be honoring those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our Country on Tuesday with our traditional family Cook In...

I choose not to say we are celebrating the Holiday as it is not a "celebration" but a Remembrance of those who never came home after serving our Country....

July 4th is a Celebration.....

Memorial Day should not be one....

We finally had a break in the rain showers that seemed to be stuck over our area for the last few days and the Sun came out and it actually hit 60 degrees...

At least we will be out of the 50's for high temps in the upcoming days......

I took advantage of that break in the rain to quickly decorate my Front Porch for Memorial Day weekend.....

You may remember that I recently shared how I decorated the Front Porch for the Early Spring/Late Summer....

I simply switched out a few things for some Patriotic decor....

A flag and a bow made from red rose ribbon and blue and white checked ribbon for a Patriotic touch....

I changed the wreath on the front door for one I made a few years ago....

I switched out the signs hanging from the "weeping" mortar on the wall...

For some Patriotic ones.....

Another bow added to the porch light.......

I have had these signs for several years now.....

I simply turned the pillows on the chairs over to the solid black side ....

In the corner....

Sorry about the pole for my porch flag and the broom in the corner but I have nowhere else to put them.....

All I can say is that I live here....

I did not put out my Patriotic porch flag as it has been just too windy to do so....

I made this 2 years ago out of a star bought from the Amish Farmer who sets up in the Mall parking lot down the road from me every Friday....

Truth be told is that I could not find it down my storage shed last year until I got out my outdoor Fall decor...

I changed out the bow and bee signs on this tree that has graced my Front Porch for many years...

Hung a metal wreath on the post and changed out the mail box cover for a Patriotic one.....

I also changed out the bee sign here.....

Again, I changed out the Welcome slate on the porch railing for a Patriotic sign.....

And tucked a few flags in the pots in front of the railing....

Along with 2 Patriotic star yard stakes from Dollar Tree....

Amazing how just changing out a few things can change the whole look.....

The flower bed under the Living Room window....

This year, I hung the basket, with a Patriotic floral arrangement that I made inside of it, on the Living Room window....

And I simply added flags to the pots in this flower bed...

And a smaller one to one of the pots on the retaining wall....

The flower bed on top of the slope that is in front of my row of townhouses.....

My Rhododendron is now in full bloom with every bud now opened.....

It has not bloomed like this in a long time....

I suspect that is because I never got to cut it back last year....

But I will be doing so after it is done blooming.....

I changed out the mini flags in this flower bed for Patriotic ones.....

My park bench....

Again, I added flags and 2 Patriotic flower yard stakes from Dollar Tree....

The mini flag in front of the park bench is that of the Statue of Liberty....

You can see with all the rain we have been getting that I need to cut back the forsythia....

One more Patriotic mini flag....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how simply changing a few things, and adding a few flags, totally changed the look of my Front Porch for this Memorial Day weekend....

I will be hosting my traditional Memorial Day Cook In for my family on Tuesday evening as my son and DIL work every weekend and every Holiday that Target is open....

I am so looking forward to it....

So I will be enjoying a quiet weekend....

I hope you will stop by to visit again on  MONDAY for my next post, where I will be sharing
Part Two of my Bright and Cheery Patio....

  2. Your Memorial Day decor is lovely, Deb. I hope you have a great dinner with your family this week and a sunny weekend. Lots of rain here, too. I'm hoping for some breaks. If not, I'll be inside watching TCM's tribute war movies. xo

  6. That rhododendron is spectacular!! What enormous blooms. What a gift to you this spring!!

Love all of your Memorial Day red, white and blue. Will you keep these patriotic decorations up through the 4th of July or take it down and put it back up? I usually do a cactus theme for my summer decorating and then break out the patriotic stuff a few weeks into June. Can't believe we are looking at June right around the corner.

You've inspired me to make a patriotic wreath fro the front door. Really like the way yours incorporates some yellow. Makes it so cheerful. I think I will make mine with pieces of fabric tied around a metal ring. Fingers crossed, it will be as nice as yours.
