I want to Thank to Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for choosing my post, Fortune Teller's Buffet and a Haunted House, as one of the features from last week's Happiness is Homemade Link Party!!
Thanks so much, Bev!!
Please stop by and link up to these charming parties!!
Yesterday, on Sunday, I helped out with a Trunk and Treat at our church which was jointly sponsored by the Community Group at my Parish, that I belong to, and the Laflin ( the town where the church is located in) Recreation Board.....
May I say that I have never been to a Trunk and Treat in my life as my sons are in their 40's and were able to trick or treat the old fashioned way by going door to door in the neighborhood....
The Trunks set up in the church parking lot...
The Fire department, which is located right across from the church, came out and brought their 2 fire trucks for the kids to see....
We bought the pumpkins from the Amish Farmer that sets up stands every Friday in the Mall by me for $1 each......
It was a lot of fun for everyone.....
The church and the Recreation Board always did their own Halloween parties and this was the first time that they joined forces to host a party and have a Trunk and Treat together....
Both joined together for an Easter Egg Hunt in the Spring but that was when Joe was ill so I could not be part of that...
I think next year, we should all wear costumes and offer prizes for adult costumes too!!
We will be joining together again for a Christmas party for the children of the parish and the town.....
I am looking forward to that one too!!
I have been able to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones because of being part of the Community Group at my parish.....
And it is good for me to keep busy too!!!
In my next post on THURSDAY, I will be sharing some of the amazing Fall Foliage here in NEPA!!
It seems this year, the changing colors of the leaves put on a spectacular show!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

Tuesday Turn About Link Party
That looks and sounds like so much fun! I am in awe over the turnout. It was fun to see everyone's decorated trunks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great community event! In our town we have lots of organizations doing trunk or treats and then we do the old fashioned trick or treat on Oct 31 after dark. To me, it's just a little too much and too much candy, too. But I am an old fuddy duddy.
ReplyDeleteMy youngest grandson's preschool is having a trunk or treat on Wednesday at dusk. The trunk are suggested to "not be scary" . We did our trunk last year with a Grinch theme, the year before we did Under the Sea. This year I had a brain storm. I am going to be the book fairy and I have been purchasing inexpensive children's books all year to pass out instead of candy. I will share photos on my blog.
I really think your Halloween party was terrific! And yes, Adult Costumes Too!!!!
The trunk or treat event looks like such fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie, Your event looks like an amazing time for all! My grandkids went to their school Trunk or Treat on Saturday and had a blast! I think it is more fun then door to door! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteNow, that's a terrific idea. What fun and so cheerful. I don't think we'll be able to pull off Halloween this year so it's fun to see everyone's cheer. What a terrific crowd -- it's clear everyone loved it!
ReplyDeleteHow fun and so much creativity! You captured lots of the action through your photos, Debbie! Our church also had a Trunk or Treat event on Sunday afternoon and there were almost 1000 kids (!) there! I think there were over 80 trunks registered to provide candy! Such a great community outreach! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteDebbie it looks like a fantastic day! What spirit for the kids...and I love your Christmas haul. We are getting ready for Halloween here...we usually get hundreds of kids. It's a fun but exhausting day of answering the door! Thank goodness for pizza! Hahha!
ReplyDeleteHi debbie, what a fun idea for the church and community! love it! xo laura
