 A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS

I enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....

UPDATE: Not able to comment on certain Blogs!

I am having a terrible time trying to comment on some Blog posts... The ones where you can comment by logging into Google, using a URL and Name or commenting Anonymously will not allow me to comment at all on some blogs!!
I have learned that if I switch browsers to Google Chrome when viewing these blogs, I can comment one these blogs so that is what I will be doing....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I shared Joe's Trip to Pittsburgh & the Flight 93 National Memorial Site....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

It was a partly rainy, cold and windy weekend so I decided that since Joe bought 2 rather large zucchini's from the Amish Farmer, I would bake my zucchini bread that I freeze and use for the upcoming Holiday Season.....

I will confess that I accidentally put a bit of ginger in one of the batches as I grabbed that bottle instead of cinnamon and I immediately panicked!!!

I quickly ran to the computer and found that Martha Stewart has a Spicy Zucchini Bread recipe out there with ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg so I just added the cinnamon and nutmeg as I usually do and they came out quite tasty....

WHEW!!

I thought I ruined a batch....

I made the other 2 batches with the ginger too!!

Even though it was cloudy, I snapped a few pictures of the beautiful Fall Foliage in our a neighborhood when we took our grand pups for their morning walk....

The mountains by us are simply bursting with color!!!

In previous posts, I shared that I had been picking pine cones and baking them to use in crafts....

For some reason this year, the pine cones are more plentiful then ever before...

They are all over the place!!!!

On the side of our son Jim's row of townhouses....

In another area......

They look like bunches of bananas on the tops of the pine trees....

 On our walk.....

The mountains behind the roof tops of my townhouse development....

This is 2 doors up from my son's house....

He "vomits" green goo at night that lights up!!!!

Joe and I had to take a ride up to our church to drop a few things off for the Basket Raffle held with our Fall Craft Fair that is coming up.....

Some of the trees on the highway along the way....

Turning into to the road by our church....

You can see our sign listing our Masses....

Since the Sun came out, Joe pulled into the shopping Center on the side of our development where one has a clear view of our beautiful mountains.....

Turning into our development and the apartment complex where both of our sons live.....

We are blessed to have a view like that every time we return home.....

And around our Court.....

Looking up at the woods on the side of us from our back yard....

On the side of our road....

The Tree in the yard across from us....

By the end of October this Tree is a blaze of red and orange and depending on how the Sun is hitting it, can look like it is on fire!!!

My neighbor Ed's burning bush that we thought died and cut way back....

And this is the view from my bedroom window.....

You may remember this "Wandering Jew" plant that Joe bought for a mere $6 on Clearance in July....

Well, it definitely wandered....right down to the ground!!!

I could not let the frost kill it and since I did not have anywhere to put it to protect it, I offered it up to a good home....

One of my FB friend's Judy R. had a friend who would take it!!!

Here it is in it's new home!!

And Judy was kind enough to bring me honey for her husband's Bee Hives!!!

This is a pic she posted on FB of her husband.....

I had some in a cup of Tea and it reminded me of my Mother adding honey to tea when I had a sore throat as a child....

Great memories!!!!

I also wanted to share this Fall Sunset.....

And now for my October Haul.....

First off, I went to a local church Rummage Sale which was mostly clothing but I did pick up a few things....

I thought he was cute....

This pretty orange glass leaf plate is in my Living Room...

And I packed this mug away with the rest of my Late Summer/Early Fall Apple decor

I also bought 2 unfinished wood stars that I hope to use in a craft project.....

They were only charging me $2 for everything....

I gave them a $5 donation.....

Dollar Tree

I loved these paper goods....

Perfect for my decor in the Dining Room.....

I had been looking for this hand .....

And this eyeball....

And I finally found them in the Dollar Tree right in the Shopping Center next to us....

The hand goes with this Dollar Tree sign that I bought last year....

 And so does the eyeball....

I also discovered that they added a Dollar Tree Plus section to the Dollar Tree right by me....

Happy Day!!

Big Lot's has been holding Black Friday Specials every Friday and this past week's was 50% off Halloween and Fall.....

 This is what I bought.....

I bought 2 of these cuties....

Here is where I put mine....

On my Beverage Bar.....

I gifted the other one to my friend Anne Marie....

I also bought this set of 3 candle holders....

I used 2 of them in the Hutch in my Dining Room....

I have orange glittered pumpkins in them for now....

I gifted the third one to Anne Marie....

I also bought this bowl......

And here it is on my counter bar in the Kitchen.....

I will used this cute garland on my Halloween Tree in the Dining Room next year....

And I bought these because I can use these well into the upcoming Christmas Season.....

Cinnamon Coffee Bean and Vanilla Cocoa Bean....

I also bought 2 strands of this garland and will put it away for next year to maybe use on a Tree....

At half price, both strands were only $5!

Plus we split this purchase so we were able to use 2 $5 off $15 coupons on top of the 50% off!!!

Ocean State Job Lot....

I made some things using bottles last year that I wanted to light up so I bought these bottle lights....

FREE because Joe used Crazy Deal Gift cards from a previous purchase....

I do want to get 2 more sets....

On the way back from our church the other morning, we stopped in Name Brand Liquidations and I found these for a mere $1.50 each!!!

We also bought these....

That box of 50 Hot Chocolate packets was only $4!!

And the Chocolate Bombs were reduced to a BUCK!!!

And now onto a few gifts.....

My friend Anne Marie came to visit on Saturday and we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon together.....

She gifted me this amazing vintage Halloween piece of crepe that she framed herself.....

It fit perfectly on the soffit in the Dining Room.....

I LOVE it!!!

She also gifted me these 2 cute sets of lights......

I used the ghost ones here on the buffet in the Dining Room....

I have not decoded where I will use these darling candy corn ones yet....

Love them!!

Thanks so much, Anne Marie....

  1. Your trees are just lovely! Here the trees are mostly all yellows. My daughter had photos of her family done on Friday evening and the light just glowed on the yellow leaves between the rain drops during their session. I am hoping we do get some oranges and reds before they all fall.

  2. Very fun finds -- and your colors are absolutely stunning. When fall hits big, it also hits beautifullly!

  3. Wow, you sure got some treasures. And putting that garland away for next year will let you have something "new" to add! Our foliage has peaked and the rain will do a lot more damage. I learned this year that ash trees have yellow leaves--first time I learned that one! My yard is full of sugar maples but the colors were not bright this year--rain and cloudiness from fires in Canada??? I do love your pictures of foliage and your awesome sunsets!

  4. Kathy,
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I am happy with all my treasures....We are going to be getting more rain on Sunday so I think that it will be the end of the leaves after that...And our temps. will be dropping into the 40's for the highs of the day....I hope you have a great weekend!!
    Hugs,
    Deb
