Today, I am going to start my Tour of how I decorated the Dining Room for Halloween this year.....

Again, since many of you have questioned where I will be putting all the new things that I recently bought and made, I will be pointing them out.....

I had a lot of fun changing things up this year here in the Dining Room....

I am going to start the Tour in the corner where the Buffet is .....

This year, I set up the Buffet in a Fortune Teller's theme....

I decided to do a larger display this year....

In the corner hanging on the wall....

Is where I hung this tussie mussie that I made last year....

I hung a Dollar Tree sign over one of my Home Interiors pictures.....

"Psychic, Tarot Card Readings"

I placed this new item from Dollar General on the shelf....

A Palmistry Fortune Teller tray from Big Lot's and a sign from Dollar Tree replaced another Home Interiors picture that normally hangs there.......

The buffet has a whole different look this year.....

In previous years, I set it up as a Witch's Potion table....

 Not this year....

Also new this year, I moved Sammy, the Skeleton, over here by the buffet......

Sammy is our resident Fortune Teller.....

He is sporting a bow tie and a hat that I made for him.....

Sammy can look into his glowing pumpkin and may be able to tell your future......

That is if the big spider moves off of it so he can see into it!!!

He can also help you with your "Fears and Phobias" if you like.....

You may remember that my friend Anne Marie gifted me this book box...

You will see where I used those hand that she also gifted me in a future post....

Sammy has all his Fortune Telling wares on display on the Buffet....

I made this witch's hat last year....

I made the potion bottles a few years back....

I bought this candle stick this year on Dollar General....

Along with a few of these candles from Dollar Tree......

I love the candle on the candle stick....

Your fortune can be read with the use of Palmistry.....

On the shelf above the buffet....

The idea for this display came from the Ouija Board that I gifted my sons when they were young....

My son Joey had kept it but gave it to me after buying a more Nostalgic looking one at a game store in our local Mall last Christmas....

The Ouija Board can also be used to see what your future holds....

And the Knowing Eye sees all....

You can see I used the vintage aluminum tray that I painted this year...

One can look into the Halloween crystal ball.....

Hanging on the handles of the Buffet are 2 skeleton people ornaments I bought a long time ago in Ross's...........

And on the floor in front of the buffet is a sign that Joe bought last year at Big Lot's for 90% off..... ......

Now it did not look like this and I did not know what to make of it.....

I could not figure out why there was a dowel on top that only extended 3/4 of the way on top of the sign....

So I decided to do a bit of research and sure enough, I found what it was supposed to look like on a "Shop With Me" You Tube video from last year taken at Big Lot's!

There was supposed to be a broom at the end of the dowel!!!

I had a cinnamon scented broom that I bought last year in Dollar Tree so I attached that and used a few curled black pipe cleaners and a bow made from deco mesh rope to dress it up a bit.....

It did only cost a $1.00 at 90% off.....

I had a lot of fun decorating this area this year.....

But I had a lot more fun because of what I did to the Hutch this year which prompted me to change up the Buffet.............

I took all the dishes out of it and decorated it as an Apothecary Cabinet.....

And dressed Minerva up so I could bring her downstairs again for Halloween!!!!!

I will be sharing this area of the Dining Room on WEDNESDAY!!

So I hope you will stop by to visit again to see a totally different twist inside of the Hutch for this year....

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  1. Love the fortune teller display. I know they creep some people out, but I have a collection of old Ouija boards I found in my gramma's attic that are probably from the 1920's and I love them! I use them for display and even (covered in a clear film) as serving trays. If you believe in heebie jeebies, I still think that objects only have the power you give them. Mine are party game boards. Very cute Halloween corner.
