 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I am now posting TWICE  a week !!!

I will be posting on MONDAY and FRIDAY!

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I am going to start a 3 part Tour of my Kitchen decorated in what I call a French Country Vintage Farmhouse theme using a red and yellow color scheme along with a lot of "Roos and Hens"....

In my last post, I shared  a few new Buys and what I did with them including a Front Porch Refresh and some Spring Blooms....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day and got to spend it with those that you love!!!

I had a wonderful afternoon spent with my family!!

We had our usual pizza party that we have for every family celebration like Birthdays, etc...

And Joe bough a cake too.....

Joey gifted me an Amazon Gift Card and I already have something picked out that I will use it for....

Stay tuned....

In addition to this beautiful floral bouquet and picture of the Grand Pups which I received earlier in the week....

Jim and Danielle also gifted me these wonderful things....

This beautiful lighted plaque....

The saying brought tears to my eyes....

I placed it here so I can see it all the time....

I will be decorating this Tree for the Summer Patriotic Holidays soon....

And I am sure that Jim picked this candle out!!!

LOL!!

And they know I love me my coffee!!!

Love the saying on this mug!!!!

It is metal so it can also be used for cold drinks....

Until I decorate the top of the TV entertainment center for the Patriotic Holidays later this week, I set my gifts up for display here.....

Thanks so much Jim, Danielle and Joey!!

Love you guys to the Moon and back!!

Some pictures from our afternoon together.....

 Danielle with Azumi!!

Faye and Azumi asked me to pick up a card and lottery tickets to give to their Mom for Mother's Day......

Listening to Joe talk about something....

And I am shocked that Joey actually let me take this picture of him kidding around after I opened my gifts.....

 LOL!

Faye jumped up on the chair next to me when Joe got up!!!

And then she had to check out what was on the table.....

We now have the pups for the week as Jim and Danielle are on vacation and going to a concert in NYC....

They were a bit tired and settled right in when Jim and Danielle left.....

They will be "helping" me decorate the Living Room with my Patriotic decor this week!!

LOL!

Since I now consider the Holiday Season, which for me is from right after Labor Day til after Easter, over...

I now get to decorate the house, except for the Living Room, in Non Holiday themes....

In past posts, I decorated the Dining Room in a "Tea Room" theme for the Summer.....

And Click HERE to see the posts on the Dining Room.......

I had a lot of fun in the Kitchen too and chose to keep the "Roos and Hens" theme that I used last Summer but expand a bit on it....

I decorated using mostly red and yellow as the color scheme.....

Today, I will start the Tour with my focal wall and Hutch.....

Since Easter, I hung red and white checked valances and curtains which to me, just scream Summer and French Country Farmhouse....

Now this is not the "Farmhouse" look that is so popular now but rather the Country Farmhouse look from about 25-30 years ago that was more colorful.....

Last year at the end of the Season, I bought these vinyl yellow and white checked place mats on Clearance in Boscov's.....

I also found this red and white checked ribbon after Christmas this year....

And I recently bought 2 rolls of this yellow and white checked ribbon in Micheal's.....

I used one roll for bows that I made for the Front Porch and one roll for bows in the Kitchen which you will see as I continue my Tour....

 Back to the focal wall......

On the shelf that my Dad built for me out of scrap lumber many years ago....

I have a lot of vintage Kitchen items with most of them coming from my late neighbor Elly's house, yard sales, estate sales and church flea markets over a long period of time....

A vintage apron and sifter....

The wall phone was Elly's...

I bought the "Rise and Shine" sign in Big Lot's last year...

Below the chair rail.....

I kept out the rolling pin sign that my friend Anne Marie gifted me for Christmas.....

A former co-worker gifted me this chalkboard.....

A vintage loaf pan with a recipe for Happiness!!!

I bought this yellow milk can at a yard sale over 25 years ago for $5!!!

Filled it with a lighted branch and red and yellow roses....

I packed up the Tree for here and it is in storage until after July 4th when it will make an appearance in the Kitchen again.......

The milk bottles are from a local Dairy that is still in existence!!!

I filled the inside of them with white paint and swirled it around to make them look like they are filled with milk....

The milk can is resting on a vintage crock next to a Raspberry canister with a vintage masher on top of it....

The white enamelware Grocery sign came from Michael's several years ago.....

I used a bookcase from a bedroom set and a desk that I bought at a church flea market and a yard sale over 30 years ago for a total of $15 to create this Hutch.....

The top of the Hutch....

The pictures are Home Interiors....

Everything on the top is vintage....

I love the look of the clock even though it does not work....

You can see one of the bows I made with the new ribbons....

The top shelf.....

Again, a lot of vintage items.....

The bottom shelf....

The desk area which I decorated for the late Spring and early Summer in what I envision as a Country Breakfast theme

I used a yellow and white checked place mat on top of a red and white checked one.....

In this corner are 2 vintage mashers...

And a vintage green bottle that says "Juice" on it.....

I made a bow out of red and white striped ribbon and placed a bumble bee on top of it that I recently bought at Dollar General....

In a vintage yellow fiestaware bowl is a pie candle.....

I bought this vintage wooden trivet many years ago.....

I placed this vintage bowl filled with faux eggs on top of it....

The "Home Sweet Home" enamelware sign was bought at Michael's......

This vintage Libby Pitcher, and the fiestaware dish I placed it on, was my neighbor Elly's.....

I tied some ribbon around the top of it.....

Faux desserts served with a lucite pie server.....

I placed vintage Libby juice glasses on these sweet yellow plates I recently bought at Dollar Tree....

In this corner is a vintage white hob nail milk glass lamp....

Which I placed in a vintage yellow fiestaware bowl......

I added this cute lady bug that I bought at Dollar General to the flowers.....

 Another wood trivet.....

 And more eggs....

I will keep the desk area like this until Strawberry season when I will decorate it with a few strawberry themed pieces....

Below the desk.....

I glued an old Dollar Tree place mat to a piece of poster board to use as a background underneath the desk......

An egg crate bought at Michael's and a copper lantern on top of a vintage yellow fiestaware platter.....

The wood mason jar is from Valentine's that I left out and a vintage mason jar filled with eggs and apples.....

Hanging on the drawer knobs....

Hanging on the side of the hutch is a vintage apron.....

On this side of the Hutch.....

More vintage pieces including a Mr. Peanut bank as Planter's Peanuts was founded right here in Wilkes Barre, Pa.

My Mother's flour sifter and another apron....

A cinnamon smelling broom.....

Joe was gifted these Pittsburgh Steeler knives by our Niece and Great Nieces....

A vintage rug beater...

I bought this in Dollar General for a buck!!!

I added some ribbon to it!!!

 And a vintage door stop....

Above the doorway out into the Den......

Vintage hens and Vasoline Glass goblets....

I bought the metal sign in the center at Salvation Army of a buck and the galvanized measuring cups were given to me by a former co-worker.....

This is a Home Interiors piece......

On the side by the stove....

I just bought this oven mitt at Dollar Tree....

On the side of the stove....

My Grater planter that I made....

 An old Dollar Tree towel...

My rolling pin collection consisting of some new and some vintage ones.....

They are inside a vintage Planter's Peanuts tin that was my Mother's....

She kept the her vintage crank meat grinder in here when I was a kid....

Hanging on the side is a vintage towel...

I just love the scenes on it!!!

And that completes Part 1 of my Tour of the Kitchen decorated for the first half of the Summer....

In my next post, I will be sharing the counter areas......

Which will include a few more new things......

And a Summer Beverage Bar area....

  1. Red and yellow isn't usually a color combo I would choose but it looks very right in your country kitchen (down to the cherry pie!). I love the phone, the signage and your wreath especially. Isn't that gingham fun? Perfect for your theme!

  5. Hi Debbie! Vintage pieces just make my heart sing! They have so much character that makes them feel warm and friendly. Your summer breakfast vignette reminds me of summers picking blackberries in the morning dew with my grandmother. Such wonderful memories! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! Hugs!
