Easter Tree, a Few Carrots and More Crafting in the Kitchen, 2023

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I am now posting TWICE  a week !!!

 UPDATE

I  will be posting on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY until Easter

I will do this so I can get all my Easter posts done before Easter which is on the 9th....

On Monday, April 10, I will go back to posting twice a week....

Easter sort of crept up on me in regards to posting my decorations....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing the first half of my Kitchen decorated for Easter!!!

In my last post, I shared Part Two of my Dining Room decorations for Easter...

A few Personal Notes...

We are definitely taking advantage of the Lenten Food sales that are being hosted by various churches and other non profit organizations in our area....

On Friday, Joe went and bought potato pancakes from one of our long time favorite churches that does a lot of Food Sales...

These are from Holy Trinity Orthodox Church which is about 10 minutes away from us....

They also sold mushroom soup and a Pierogie casserole with cabbage......

Basically it is like Haluski ( Cabbage and Noodles) only with pierogies!!!

Unfortunately, I can not eat a lot of cabbage due to my IBS so ironically, Joe had bought a dozen of pierogies at Price Chopper on Quick Clearance that morning...

I cooked them up and added them to the casserole to "dilute" the amount of cabbage...

Both were very tasty!!

On Saturday, our church held a Purse Bingo which is a big thing here in our area....

I did not attend as Joe had a hockey game that day but we did go up to get some food....

Even though our church had finished up our Potato Pancake sales the week before, they had made up what was left of the batter, froze them and then were serving them at the Purse Bingo!!

 Very SMART!!

They were just as good and we even got free sour cream with them...

We got 2 porkBBQ sandwiches for Joe and Joey but my friend put the pork bbq in a container so the buns would not get soggy by dinner time....

She gave us enough that we got 4 sandwiches out of it...

And of course , I had to get our Deacon Mike's fantastic tasting Haluski!!!

2 orders of it!!

He makes the best I have tasted in a very long time!!

Joey treated us to Mission BBQ on Sunday and we got pulled chicken sandwiches with Mac N Cheese!!

I forgot to take pictures.....

I loved not having to cook all weekend!!

I did do some crafting but I will share that in later posts...

I will start my Kitchen Tour with this wall in the Kitchen which most of you know I call the focal wall....

Basically, it serves no purpose in the Kitchen other than decoration.....

Too bad the rest of the Kitchen can't be just for decoration only....

We will start here by the hall way from the Living Room....

The shelves on each side of the wall are decorated like this now until the Fall....

On the side of my Easter Tree in the Kitchen is a chalkboard....

I left out this sweet rolling pin that my friend Anne Marie gifted me for Christmas and just taped an Easter card over the tile on top of the chalkboard....

I wrote "Happy Spring"!

A ceramic bunny, eggs and an Easter basket that I made out of a peat pot sits on the shelf....

My Easter Tree in the Kitchen....

A crocheted cross that my Mother gifted me a long time ago hangs on the lid of a vintage enamel pan above the Tree.....

I bought these metal carrot garden stakes when I went to Dollar Tree last week!!

I decided to tuck them into the top of the Tree along with a striped carrot that I bought at Dollar Tree a few weeks ago....

The color theme for Easter in the Kitchen is red, yellow , orange and green...

I also tucked a forsythia bush and pussy willows in to the top of the Tree along with a black and white checked bow!!

I bought these wood carrot cut outs in Dollar Tree to make ornaments....

Along with these bunnies....

I painted the carrot ones and added the bunnies to some of them...

I used some on the Tree and throughout the Kitchen....

There is a carrot garland also on the Tree...

And a set of 3 Easter plates...

Chicks that I made last year.....

A few bunnies...

And lots of eggs....

The Hutch, that I made from a bedroom shelf unit and a desk, is pretty much decorated for the rest of the Summer.....

Except for the desk area and underneath it which is decorated for Easter...

The top of the Hutch....

The top shelf.....

I did hang a Bunny in the center....

The bottom shelf....

After Easter, I decorate the Kitchen in a Rooster and Hen theme....

The desk area....

I bought this lighted cloche in Big Lot's a few years ago...

A moss covered bunny...

I bought this print at a yard sale and framed it with a frame from my stash...

Love how these sweet bunnies are dressed.....

The carrot houses are from Dollar Tree a few years back...

Chicks in an egg dish bought at Michael's at 90% off!!

The Reese's Pieces carrots are actually from last year!!!

Another moss covered bunny!

 Underneath the desk.....

 Vintage styled paper mache eggs...

I hung an ornament from the knob....

The other shelf that my Dad made for me from scrap wood on this side of the wall.....

An Easter egg that I embellished...

The Tree will be packed away after Easter....

Above the doorway to the Den.....

You may remember that I embellished this egg garland that I took apart.....

I added the bunnies to the green, black and orange checked ones and hung them here....

One the side of the stove....

I added a pick f 3 carrots to the red and yellow floral arrangement in the grater planter....

An Easter towel.....

Another Easter towel......

I changed this sign bought at 90% off in Big Lot's.......

To this last year....

The small counter area on the side of the stove....

You may remember that I bought these carrot gift bags at Dollar Tree and stuffed them......

I embellished several of them to use in the Living Room....

I also made one for the Kitchen!!!

Sticking to my Easter color theme for the Kitchen!!!

A few years ago, I made these carrots from cones I bought in a local hardware store....

And last year, I made these from styrofoam eggs!!!

This, year, I decided to use both of these "carrot" creations here...

In decorating the former Kitchen window with carrots for Easter.....

I also added 2 new signs from Dollar Tree that I "dabbled" with a bit to the sides of the "window".....

I added carrots and a burlap bow.....

And a few red ribbon flowers....

I hung each on one side along with bunny signs...

I placed the "carrot" eggs in the demitasse cups of the chandy I made....

And hung the "carrot" cones from the chandy!!!

I added red ribbon flowers and a bow to these "carrots" this year.....

I also hung more carrot ornaments from the red and white checked valance that I made from a tablecloth!!!

A bow up top and a sweet bunny hangs in the middle....

 The other side....

On the "window sill".....

This is where I display my collection of Eastern European Pysanki Eggs.....

The large egg was made by my MIL and says "Happy Easter" in Polish.....

I bought a bag of Pysanki Eggs for $3.00 at a flea market one year....

When Joe went to a Byzantine Catholic school, he and the other students made Pysanki eggs for weeks before Easter for the Nuns to sell.....

If you want to read about Pysanki Eggs, please click HERE

You can see that I also used yellow chicks in this display!!!

And this is where I will leave off today in the Kitchen....

In my next post on WEDNESDAY, I will finish my tour of the Kitchen decorated for Easter and share my Spring Beverage Bar....

And the rest of the Kitchen......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on WEDNESDAY!!

  1. Your church has the BEST food! A lot of the churches around here used to have great homemade dishes. But the cooks retired and that was it. The next town over had homemade noodles for their festival and always sold dried bags too. SO GOOD. The largest Catholic church in town even hires caterers for funeral dinners. My church still serves dinners and bakes pies. But I am not sure how much longer that will go on. We pie bakers are getting old. Those potato pancakes look scrumptious!

  4. I haven't even pulled out my egg tree this year. I'm just not sure where I'd put it, although it may make an appearance by Easter! Now, that's a dinner!
