This is going to be a long picture laden post so I am skipping personal notes for today....

I always say that in my 40's, when all my multiple Medical issues started to rear their ugly heads, I knew that my days of traveling for any distance were over....

So I decided that since I loved the Victorian Era so much that I would turn my 1970's built townhouse into the Victorian Bed and Breakfast that I would love to stay at if I was able to continue to travel....

This year, I decided to decorate my Dining Room as if it was a "Tea Room" in my very own Victorian Bed and Breakfast that I created....

In previous posts, I shared how I decorated the Buffet in the "Tea Room".......

And did a bit of reminiscing about attending different Teas as part of a Victorian Society....

Click HERE if you missed that Post....

Next I shared the Hutch, the 2 Curio's in the Dining Room and the surrounding areas....

......

Today, we will begin with the soffit that divides the Living Room and Dining Room......

This is where I hung my Collection of Guardian Angel plates.....

I started collecting Angels after my Dad passed away.....

I bought them years ago from the Bradford Exchange.....

In the center, I have a Home Interiors picture....

This is the corner where my Holiday Trees are set up.....

A silver table top one for Halloween.....

A 7 foot slim one for Christmas.....

This Tree stayed up and was decorated for Valentine's Day.....

Then the Tree was hauled back down to the storage shed that we rent and the table was brought back and a pink table top Tree was decorated for Easter......

After Easter until mid September, the Dining Room will pretty much remain the same.....

I brought out one of my vintage lamps to use on the table..........

On the side of the table on a pedestal bought at a church Flea Market is a vintage milk glass compote bowl....

Looking for something Tea related to display inside of the bowl, I thought of this....

I used to make tea cups into pin cushions when I sold on EBay and at local Craft Fairs....

I made this from a demitasse cups and saucer.....

I placed a greenery candle ring around the base, added a few silk roses and a sterling silver Tussie Mussie that was gifted to me by a friend.....

The milk glass bowl was my neighbor Elly's as I have several pieces of her milk glass collection.....

I always wanted a Grandfather Clock but do not have the room for one so Joe bought me this hanging wall clock many years ago in J. C. Penny's....

I bought this Victorian Lamp Shade on EBay about 20+ years ago and added angel wings to it and a Victorian Lady ornament....

On the window divider between the Living Room and the Dining Room, I hung 2 Hearts....

This pillow was a gift from a friend....

And this one, I made....

" A Cup of Kindness"

Again, I went with the Victorian Tea Room theme on this table....

I added an identical runner made from toile fabric like the one I used on the buffet....

Since the diameter of the lamp shade is rather large, the lamp has to be placed almost in the center of the table so to avoid a dead space behind it, I placed a pink mercury glass votive there....

I placed a ceramic rose inside of it....

To the left of the lamp....

This is a photo of what I call  "Instant Relatives", pictures I bought at Estate Sales and Flea Markets....

A Tea Pot ornament

I was gifted 5 of these miniature Victorian Homes from a Fellow Blogger about 10 years ago....

I love the detail on them....

Even the side yard....

And the back yard....

I have the other 3 in my upstairs Sitting Room....

A vintage Tea Cup and Saucer...

I love this vintage lamp as the pattern on it is very similar to my wall paper border....

In the middle of the table is another book about Tea.....

I embellished the vintage hanky....

To the right of the lamp....

This is actually a picture of my maternal Grandmother and a cousin....

She is the one on the left and is supposedly who I look like and am built like....

Another Tea Pot ornament....

And one more Victorian home.....

This mini Tea Set was also a gift from a friend....

I just love it!!

To the right of the table.....

On a marble topped stand....

What was once a brass candelabra that I spray painted pink....

My "JOY" rock was gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie....

The round topper is hand made and dyed and was bought on Ebay about 20 + years ago...

The wall behind the Dining Room table...

To the side of the picture.....

I bought a set of 4 vintage Lefton ceramic Cupid  plaques at an Estate Sale for $5

The fan and sconce are Home Interiors...

I adore this Home interiors picture called "May I Play?"

On a Home Interiors shelf below the picture...

More vintage Tea Cups....

On the other side of the picture....

This shelf is above the door way to the Kitchen...

Victorian Tassel Dolls and more Tea Cups...

These 2 are vintage...

This one is a newer one...

And these are vintage......

I found a few of these pink lace valances in different lengths at an estate sale years ago...

Not sure what they were originally intended for but I placed a spring tension rod with one of them on between the brackets of this shelf to hang one from.....

While planning and decorating this "Tea Room", I had to wrack my brain for things I had bought and used many years ago when I did a lot of entertaining....

I bought this set of 4 chair covers at Target after Christmas one year at 75 % off....

I think they were only $10....

I actually thought that I had given them away!!!

Glad that I did not!!!

I LOVE the transformation of my Dining Room chairs with them on...

We eat in our Dining Room every day because my Kitchen is too small to have a Kitchen table in it....

So I set the table very simply so it is easy to move things off of when it is Dinner time....

I bought these sweet Bunny vinyl place mats from Boscov's.....

And I placed my Bunny Tea Pot that my friend Anne Marie gifted me, along with a vintage Bunny, on a pink depression glass sandwich tray that was Joe's maternal Grandmother's in the center of the table....

Simple but cute!!

And now for the Chandy!!

These are shades I bought at the Christmas Tree Shop and embellished....

I use them in the Fall to Winter months....

One of the women in the Victorian Society gave me the idea of adding shades to the Chandy that Joe's Aunt Margie gave us when she bought a new house because she did not care for it and replaced it with a more Country looking one.....

These were the shades that I used in the Spring and Summer months ..

I did embellish them with white gimp trim and beads....

BUT....

I thought they needed a bit more Victorian Glam for my Tea Room.....

So I added a rose colored beaded trim and a large white ribbon rose to them.....

They do stand out more now!!

I love the hang seasonal decorations from the Chandy....

For the Summer months, I decided to hang these Victorian styled ornaments that I bought many years ago in Lowe's at 90% off after Christmas.....

Also hanging from the Chandy are a few glass blown ornaments and Chandy beads....

I decided to take it one step further when I found several tea cup and tea pot ornaments....

I added the tea cup and tea pots ornaments....

Fitting for a Tea Room....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated my Dining Room like a Victorian "Tea Room" for the Summer months....

I sure had a great time doing so!!!

  1. I just love the idea of the dining room decorated like a tea room. I am full of ideas but I am waiting until fall to start my project since I seem to be overrun with grandchildren already this summer. I love the chair covers. I used to have some very similar, mine were more of a cream color. I bought them for (I think) $5 a pair on clearannce at Big Lots. I used them for special occasions since we had a hand-me-down table and mismatched chairs. I have a large family and they were so cheap that I really think I had 20 or more. Then, long story: neighbors house burned down, visited our homeowner policy, found homeowners only covers $50 in cash in home, made husband turn in about 100 coffee cans of change under our bed that he had been collecting for the first 40 years of our marriage. Had enough money to have the Amish build us a complete bedroom set and new dining table and eight chairs. AND the chairs are too large for the covers. I donated them to our fair board who uses them to cover chairs during our county fair royalty contest. Don't think I did that right away. This hoarder kept them in the closet a few years trying to think about what to do, LOL. Your tea room is so beautiful and filled with so many lovely things.

  4. The tea-time decorations harken back to the Victorian Era with the floral designs and feminine touches.
