I hope you get to do the same for this Easter Holiday!!!!

As I mentioned before, I have been rearranging and "dabbling" in our Kitchen......

But before I share more projects that I did with you, I want to Thank these hosts for featuring my post,  Bird Nest Tea Cups, from last week's parties!!

Thanks to Pam, over at An Artful Mom, for featuring it from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Link Party!!!!

And Thanks to Theresa, over at Shoestring Elegance, for choosing it as one of her features also from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Party!!!
Thanks so much, Pam and Theresa!!!

Please stop by and link up to this great parties!!

You may remember that I have had this "Galley" sign in my Kitchen for a good many years now......
I bought it at a "yard sale" at the local Red Lobster!!!!

Yes, Red Lobster!!

They were remodeling and decided to have a yard sale in their parking lot, selling all the decor items that they were not going to use after the remodel!!

I remember running into my dear sweet neighbor Elly there and we both bought the same sign for $5.00 a piece!!!
When Elly passed away and her sons told me to take what I wanted from the house since we had kept an eye on it and took care of the yard for many years , one of the things I took was her "Galley" sign......
About 2 years ago, I had spray painted it white and then used chalkboard paint in the center of it......

One year, I had it in the Dining Room as part of my Halloween decorations......
I screwed in a few hooks into the top and attached the chain that I used to hang the other sign with and hung it up above the sink.....

Looking through different Pinterest photos, I saw a sign with simply "Kitchen" written on it.....

So I feebly wrote "Kitchen" on this sign.......
Okay, I never said I was good at creating any type of chalkboard masterpieces.......

I hung it where I would normally hang my sign......
I think it brightens up the Kitchen a bit......

My sign is in need of a new paint job as you can see by the side of it.....
I will freshen it up, using the same colors and it will make an appearance again in the Kitchen during the Winter months......

Next up are these milk bottles.......
These are actually "real" milk bottles that I had when we used to get milk from a "real" dairy which is still open!!!

I have wanted to display these for years but the marking on the clear glass just got lost.......

I then saw a post over on Sadie Seasongoods blog where she shared how she painted the inside of bottles to look like milk bottles...

This is her finished project......
I love the pastel colors and the vintage labels......

She simply added a bit of water to craft paint and poured it inside the bottle and tipped them over......

Click HERE to read her post....

What I wanted to do was make them look like they had real milk inside of them and I also wanted to make the signage that was already on the bottles pop and stand out......

So I added a bit of water to a small bottle of white craft paint and poured some inside of the bottle......
Since I did not want to cover the entire bottle with paint, I swirled the paint around , covering as much glass as I wanted to and adding more paint as needed......
The small bottles look like some milk was poured out of them and the signage and lettering on the bottle really stands out now......

I filled the larger bottle up to the top.......
When Joe came home and saw them, he said "They look like there is actually milk in them" and that is the best compliment I could get on the project because that is what I was trying to achieve......
Here is where I have them on display......
And I already had the carrier!!!
I could not believe when I saw a carrier on Amazon for $31.99!!!!!
Mine was free when I bought the 4 bottles of milk!!!!!

And I saw bottles on Amazon which were $19.99 for 2 small milk bottles and $29.99 for 2 large ones!!!!!
Mine came with the milk that I bought!!!!

Hillside Farms Dairy is a Historic Non-Profit 412 acre Educational Dairy Farm.....

It is about a 10 minute drive from my house.....

From their web site:

 Dairy Store

The Lands at Hillside Farms Dairy Store is not a place, it is an experience.  Here, you can shop at a centralized “local food hub” that sells over 100 products such as artisan cheese, “true local” raw honey, certified organic vegetables, fresh baked goods, jellies, jams, salsas, syrups, and hand crafted chocolates. We also sell a variety of healthy beverages including beet kvass tonic, elderberry syrup, and kombucha.
We are proud to sell our own high-quality, wholesome items such as pastured 100% grass fed beef, pastured eggs, pastured pork, ice cream, and Hillside Gold pastured dairy. Scientific data clearly supports what we have known for years, that is pastured protein not only tastes better, it is far superior to mass-produced feedlot meats, factory farmed dairy and eggs. True pastured protein is better for you, the animals, the environment, and the local economy. We also offer GMO free pastured chicken and a variety of sustainably harvested Alaskan salmon.
They also have a Gift Shop and Greenhouse:

Mercantile/Greenhouse

Our Mercantile and Greenhouse are beautiful historic structures where you can purchase quality, affordable local and USA-made products. We also carry a limited line of fair trade items from India and Haiti. At Hillside Mercantile you can purchase hand-milled soaps, creams and candles, as well as a variety of scented oils and air sprays. We carry locally made one-of-a-kind jewelry, purses, wallets, scarves, hats, and wraps.
For the home we carry a variety of local artwork including signs, photographs, paintings, vases, birdhouses, and more. We also have a Children’s section that carries books, clothing, blankets, traditional old-fashioned games, and Green Toys. Be sure to check out the assortment of chairs, tables, benches, coasters, and other items made right here in the farm’s woodshop.
Inside the Greenhouse you will find extraordinary beauty in the building’s physical structure. This rare Lord & Burnham greenhouse was constructed between 1820 and 1870 and fully restored in 2011. Shop the greenhouse for hanging baskets, potted flowers, and vegetables as well as garden tools and supplies, fountains, benches, and garden decor. Seasonal items include mums, pumpkins, holiday wreaths, and poinsettias.
The Potting Shed, located next to the Mercantile, holds our “Timeless Treasures” collection of furniture and unique accents. Whatever suits your taste – be it antique, art deco, contemporary, or modern – chances are you’ll find that “just right” item here in The Potting Shed. Merchandise changes often so whenever you stop by for milk, ice cream, or eggs be sure to peek in the shed before heading home.
They have many educational programs for children and also offer a Children's Grief Camp and a Green Guides Program for Vulnerable Youths.....

I have to admit that I have not been there in quite some time but this is definitely on my "Once I Can Walk Again" Bucket List!!!!

If you would like to visit their web site, please click HERE....

A few days later, I was watching "Father Knows Best" on TV and a milk man came to the door and said that his milk was "Fresh from Cows Daily".....
I got a kick out of that so I had one of these chalkboard clothes pins and wrote that saying on it......
"Fresh from Cows Daily"!!
In my next post, I will be sharing a few more projects that I have done in the Kitchen.......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
