Winter China Cupboard, 2019

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

In my last post, I shared that I was "Tapping Out and Letting Go!!"

By "Tapping Out", I meant that I was not going to be doing some of the Seasonal decorating that I usually do for Winter in the Kitchen and in the Den because I am having such pain in my right knee which needs to be replaced.......
And by "Letting Go", I shared that I had decided to Let Go of some Holiday decorations and put them up for grabs....

My daughter-in-law and my niece took most of the items and the rest went to Salvation Army.....
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

I did leave out some decorations in the Den and added a few things to create a Winter vignette in the China Cupboard and the area around it......

But first, I want to Thank these hosts for featuring my post, Pink and White Valentine's Tree and More!!!
Thanks to Katherine, over at Katherine's Corner, for featuring it from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Linky Party!!
Thanks so much, Katherine!!!

And also Thanks to Karren, over at Oh My Heartsie Girl, for featuring it from last week's Friday Feature Linky Party!!
Thanks again, Karren!!

And I also want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring my post, Red and Gold Valentine's Decor in the Living Room,
from last week's Over the Moon Linky Party!!!
Thanks so much, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to these great parties!!!!

I decided to leave out some of the Christmas decorations in the Den that could also be used for Winter decorations.......

Mainly in the china cupboard.......
I also added a few other things from other rooms that I did not pack away yet......
I know many Bloggers are doing posts about Spring but here in NEPA, we will not see Spring until at least April as we often get some of our biggest snow storms in March!!!

In fact, we have snow and ice predicted for Tuesday here so Winter is far from over in this neck of the woods!!

I removed all the Christmas items from the top of the China Cupboard and replaced them with a few things to make it look Wintery......
Instead of packing away the battery operated LED lighted trees that I had around the house for Christmas, I used 2 of them here.......
I also did not pack away the "Ice" house and church that I used in a Christmas display in the Living Room......
I added a few blue and white birds......
Reindeer that were already here......
And moved a Thomas Kinkade Christmas angel that stays out all year over to the top of the China Cupboard......
To the right is a Thomas Kinkade calendar......
I kept the inside of the cupboard the same as it was for Christmas......
Except for removing 2 Avon Christmas plates that have found a new home with my niece, Renae.....
It will be easier to using plates that I have out year round instead of replacing them with seasonal plates..........
I like to decorate around the bottom of the china cupboard.......
I placed another Tree on the small table next to the chair......
And decorated it with a few small mitten ornaments......
A few deer and a pine cone.....
Normally, when I decorate for Winter in this area, I have a whole bunch of snow men sitting around.......

I had this Dapper looking Snow Man out for Christmas so I simply sat him in the chair......
I have 2 stacked vintage suitcases under and in front of the china cupboard......
I pretty much left them the way they were decorated for Christmas, just removing the Christmas elves from this area......
I " let go" of a corner shelf that was hanging to the right of the China Cupboard......
And placed 2 small trees lit by battery operated lights here......
And there you have it...........

My China Cupboard in the Den decorated for Winter and I hardly put any effort into it because I used what was already out for Christmas!!!
It will stay this way until the end of February when I decorate the china cupboard for St. Patrick's Day.....

In my next post, I will be posting another chapter in my series on Planning for Early Retirement which I started when Joe was planning to retire at 62 years old....

It will also be based on the topic of "Letting Go" when planning for Retirement.....
This Baby is an example of "Letting Go" and sticking to our Retirement plan.....
I will also be doing a Follow Up Post on my post, "Feeling a Bit Disenchanted With Blogging"!!

All the comments were amazing and I feel they deserve to have a little more light shined on the subject....

So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

    1. Dear Nina,
THANK YOU so much for your very kind and encouraging words!! When one posts something on a blog or elsewhere in "Cyberland", one has no idea who or if anyone is reading or looking at what they post!! It is because of you and others like you who let me know that my blog is read and even appreciated, much to my surprise, that give me the reason to keeping Blogging!!! I live a simple hard working life, I don't live in a huge house or have a lot of money and certainly have a family that is not perfect! So it truly shocks me that people actually want to see and read what I have to say!! So THANK YOU again for letting me know that you are out there and reading my blog!!I am so grateful! And please feel free to contact me privately through my email if you want, debbiedabbleblog222@gmail.com
      HUGS to you!!

  4. I love your wintry china collection and would fit well where I am because it's not looking a bit like spring. Rainy, cold and dreary looking. Snow would only make it look brighter. I wouldn't mind that today.
Love the car! We need to look into getting another. I am so ready to stay on the road and see many other places. My sister and her husband bought a used RV and will travel more now. Life she said is getting shorter and she is so ready to move like never before. She is selling some things and traveling more.

  5. I used to live in western NY, so I totally understand that in PA you're not getting spring until at least April! I remember those days. I really love the trees and the lights. Something about greenery and light during the winter is so comforting. Thanks for sharing at #heartandsoullinkup

  8. Hi Debbie ... love all your decorations, especially the houses and churches. Being able to make a few minor changes and make it work for two seasons is great. I do that too. I always enjoy reading your blog and sorry not to comment more often. So many life changing events the past two years, as you can see I have not been able to blog very much. I do try to change my header once in awhile. Hope to get back to blogging really soon.
    Best wishes,

  11. So many pretty Winter items! I recently visted up North and you are right....no sign of Spring up there. I am "letting go " of some of my decor items too. We recently retired and want to travel more...we might sell this house so we don't have a yard to take care of. I LOVE your new car!!! There is a Hyundai plant where I live in Montgomery, Alabama. Maybe it was made here! I also like your Valentine's decorations. I saw your post at the "DIY By Design " blog party.

  12. Hi Debbie, I love all of your sweet little houses and churches and all the little figurines! I think if I came to visit, I would want to play with them all :) The cabinet is really nice, too, with the vintage suitcases. I had one vintage suitcase like that and my daughter 'borrowed' it for her wedding to put cards in. (I gave it to her, because she's always wanted one) They are so versatile and also good storage. Love the Thomas Kincade Angel. I am so over winter.....we keep getting snow and more snow. Hang in there, spring will be here soon, I hope! Hugs xo Karen

  13. I love visiting your blog. You amaze me, you are cutting back, but you still do so much. I am like you, I am cutting back on my holiday decorating. Just a few things here and there for Valentine. Now I need to start giving away to my daughters and granddaughters. I have to say it is hard. But it is time. I have some health problems that need my attention. Rest and less stress is what I need. You take care Debbie. Be sure to stop by. Karie
