Easter/Spring at Nelson Crest

Welcome!!!

Easter is almost here and it seems like it just came so quickly this year even though I know that it is 2 weeks earlier than last year.......

But first, I want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring my post, Living Room Easter Tree, from last week's Over The Moon Linky Party!!!
Thanks so much, Bev!!

And I also want to Thank Marilyn, over at Marilyn's Treats, for featuring my post, Easter Buffet in the Dining Room,  from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Linky Party!!
Thanks so much, Marilyn!!

Please stop by and link up to these wonderful parties!!

BOY!!!

Did I bust my butt trying to get the house decorated for Easter this year ..........

It seemed like I just could not catch up.......

But I did get it all done.......

I even was able to decorate my other house, Nelson Crest, my Victorian Doll House.....
Spring has definitely sprung at Nelson Crest!!!
And flowers are blooming!!!!
I am going to call these flowering bushes azaleas.......
I bought them awhile ago in Michael's in the Fairy Garden section on Clearance.......

They have little spikes on the bottom so I poked them into styrofoam blocks.......
I do plan on painting them green to blend in with the grass but I did not have the time to do so yet......
The front of Nelson Crest is all decked out for Easter with Bunnies frolicking.....
Up on the second floor balcony......
The Easter Egg Tree was also bought at Michael's.......
You can see Mrs. Nelson through the door in the master bedroom.....
A cherub and Bunnies sit on the railing......
Down below in the front yard......
On the left side.....
Flowering shrubs......
More Bunnies.....
The front porch......
Pink Egg Lanterns flank each side of the steps.....
An Easter basket filled with eggs waits to be taken in and enjoyed by the family.....
More Bunnies on the steps.....
Flower pots filled with flowers on each side of the stone walkway.....
Over on the right side......
More Bunnies......
Flowering bushes in the side yard....
A flag pole.....
There is also a pond on this side of the house.....
Nelson Crest is going to need a bit of an updating in the future......
Nelson Crest will be 10 years old this year and the paint is fading a bit......
However, I may have to wait until I retire before I get to update her......

This is my last post before Easter......

I will be working both Saturday and Sunday nights as Easter is NOT considered a Holiday for us and Hospitals do not close because it is a Holiday!!!

I will still be hosting Easter dinner for our family of 5......

Serving turkey, ham, kielbasi, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and mushrooms......

I will make most of it on Saturday, throw the turkey in the oven when I get home from work Sunday morning, Joe will continue to baste the turkey while it cooks and than will take it out of the oven and slice it, I will get up and do the veggies, heat everything else up and have dinner for 3pm!!

We have this down to a science!!!!

Then I will go back to sleep at 6pm and get up and go to work for 11pm Sunday night!!

The story of my life for over 36 years!!!

Can't wait until I can retire....

Hopefully I will live that long.......another year and a half......

Happy Easter to you and yours!!!
I hope you get to spent it with those that you love!!

I also hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

  1. Good of you with working to even feel like fixing dinner. People in your profession of hospital work so hard. I know the nursing home where Mom is there are good people who look like they must live there as they are always there. I wish you and your family a Wonderful Easter.

  2. For all of us who have ever had a medical emergency on a holiday, know that you are appreciated and thanked for all you do on the days when the rest of us are "resting."

I have to say - I love Nelson Crest at Christmas - and it's quite fun at Halloween - but it's also charming at Easter time! Your decorating flair just doesn't have an off-switch, does it?! I'm always a bit in awe of you!

    Again, Happy Easter!

  5. I enjoyed seeing Nelson Crest decked out for Easter. Glad you have holiday meals down to such a science. We are going to "the Farm", where my boyfriend grew up as the oldest of 8. Not as big a crowd at Easter. Will go to sunrise service, followed by breakfast, then home for a bit, back to church @ 11. Made 2 batches of cookies and a double batch of Scotch bars (oatmeal bar cooky) today. Safely under plastic wrap. Happy Easter!

  6. The Nelson Crest house decorated for Easter is amazing. The details to this is awesome. I remember before I retired as an RN working those weekend shifts and holidays. I am glad you will still be able to host dinner with your family. Happy Easter.
    Hugs,
    Kris

  7. Hi Debbie, I just found your blog and want to say that the attention to detail that you give your decorating is incredible!! You are amazing! I just bought a dollhouse and you’ve inspired me to begin collecting holiday items for it. I’m going to search your blog and see if you’ve given any “indoor tours” of yours :) Keep up the great work, Debbie! Happy Easter!

  8. Nelson Crest has never looked better! Is red, white and blue next for the Crest? We are not having our Easter until next Saturday.....the first time available that all the family could get together....lol! With all the nurses, emt's, and firemen it's almost impossible to get everyone together for a dinner! Have a blessed Easter my friend....hugs...

  9. I absolutely loved the Easter tour of your dollhouse, Debbie. The name "Nelson Crest" fits it perfectly. I have a couple of dollhouses but haven't decorated then for the holidays in a few years. Maybe I'll start again after seeing yours . . . beautiful. Hope you and your family had a Happy Easter! ~Cheryl

  19. Debbie, I'm anxious for you to get to retire too. God bless you! Your Victorian house is so cute and you've decorated her beautifully for Easter. Thank you for sharing on Party in Your PJ's!

  20. Debbie, that sounds like a familiar schedule for a nurse, although I never worked 11-7 on a regular basis. Maybe you remember I'm a nurse too. I rotated plenty of shifts, and girl, you doing it for 36 years. It blows my mind. I only worked for 18. Anyway, back to the dollhouse. I'm totally charmed by it, which is why I chose it for my feature at Sweet Inspiration this week. I love dollhouses...used to have one when I was a kid, but never anything ornate like this. I love the Victorian look, and you sure have it decorated pretty for Easter. I haven't noticed it needing a paint job or whatever it needs. I just LOVE those lace curtains!!

  21. Nelson Crest looks lovely all decorated for Easter and springtime, Debbie!!! Yes, it does sound as if you have blogging, cooking and sharing down to a science in between working. :) I always admire nurses and doctors who work 12 hour and night shifts for their knack of being able to 1) sleep anytime, 2) being able to prep anything and sleep and then still be able to function to do things with family!!! Great job!!! <3

    Retirement will be great,
    Hugs,
    Barb :)

Oh, ps, pinning to my Doll Houses for GrownUps and Holidays boards for you. <3
