Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

A NOTE ABOUT COMMENTS
I
enjoy reading your comments and will return the favor by visiting and
commenting on your blog or reply to you directly here if you do not have
a blog but I do have my comment section set to Moderation due to
spammers and hackers so your comment will not appear immediately...
And since I have a very busy life, like most of us do, it may take me awhile to return your comments but I promise I will....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my last post, I shared how I decorated the Hutch in the Living Room for Summer....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!
Today, I am going to do a Saturday Snippets post which means a little bit if this and that....
I am still battling whatever is causing me this GI distress for over a week now and will be getting in touch with my Physician on Monday....
So I did not really get a chance to do too much of anything this week....
I hope I can get some answers soon and start to feel better....
First up is the home made pierogies that I ordered from my son Joey's boss Connie, who was selling them for her church!!
$10 a dozen for all this goodness!!
I make them up the Polish traditional way with butter and fried onions.....
You may remember this tiered tray that I bought at Dollar Tree....
It is made from unfinished wood so I decided that I would stain it....
I just used a gel stain from my stash.....
I think it looks much better now.....
And now we go out to the front of my house.....
My neighbor Ed lives in my late neighbor Elly's house and Elly had planted Silver Dollars in the front flower bed....
I managed to give one of Ed's azaleas a trimming and was able to cut off the dried branches of the Silver Dollar bush after it bloomed.....

My neighbor Elly always had a vase filled with Silver Dollar Branches in her home...
So I decided to create my own vase out of a PVC pipe to use outside....
I zip tied it to the park bench so it would not blow over when I placed the branches inside of it....
I just love how this looks...
I am happy with how it worked out...
Staying in the front yard, I want to share how the annuals that I did plant are doing mid Summer....
On the bench....
The red begonias are doing well....
And so are these marigolds....
On the right side of the bench is a pot filled with impatiens which are thriving right now....
To the right of that pot is a red truck planter filled with more marigolds.....
Over on the left side .....
Again, these marigolds are doing well....
I planted red and coral colored impatiens in this vintage red watering can....
Jumping over the sidewalk in the flower bed under the Living Room window on the retaining wall between my house and my neighbor's house.....
About a week and a half ago, I cut off pieces from the coleus planted in some of the pots out front to propagate them....
I put them in cups filled with water and they rooted nicely...
I planted 2 of them in this pot, in which I had originally planted marigolds, that were gnawed down to nothing by slugs....
I had planted 2 other coleus plants in the other pot that also had the marigolds eaten....
These dark red coleus are doing so well that I think I will be propagated more stems form them....
I am glad the slugs did not find the marigolds in the other flower bed....
Over on the other side of the flower bed under the Living Room window...
The impatiens in this pot are doing okay but not as good as the others....
It looks like the smaller coleus are going to be crowded out by the 2 dark leaf ones so I may end up taking the smaller ones out and planting them elsewhere...
And finally, I want to leave with with a few photos of my back yard that I took this morning while sitting out in the Patio having a cup of tea.....

The loosestrife is blooming nicely....
The bees love them.....
I also planted some of the coleus that I propagated in this pot.....
The loosestrife that I planted on both sides of the arbor is also coming along.....
And one more picture before I go.....
The picture of my grand pups, Faye and Azumi, that appeared on their Groomer's web site....

I hope you will stop by to visit again on MONDAY for my next post....
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Those pups are just the cutest. All freshly groomed and in their little scarves.
ReplyDeleteYour yard is so beautiful. I would love to live across the road from you so I could see all that gorgeousness everytime I looked out my window!
Those silver dollars are really unique. I don't believe I've seen them around here. They look lovely on your porch and of course, now I'm going to keep my eyes open for them in my area! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, definitely get in touch with your dr tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteFront yard looks lovely, as do those cute pups!
Hugs, Barb
Barb,
DeleteI will be in touch with my Dr. tomorrow...I need to have this taken care of and find out what is causing this....Thanks for your concern and for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Deb
Beautiful photos, Debbie. I wish you good health and happiness 😊
ReplyDeleteDebbie, about your GI problem. I have one too again. The supplements seniors order thru their insurance companies could be the problem. They do not have the proper coatings and binders. Some are old and breaking down.About 10 years ago one burned a hole in my stomach. Take care if this ASAP-Myrna
ReplyDeleteMyrna,
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by!! I do not take any type of supplements through my insurance company. I have made several Dr. appointments including with my Gastroenterologist..I have had G I issues for over 25 years now. Have a great week!!
Hugs,
Deb
Yes, PLEASE call the doctor. And I hope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you managed to get to the doctor by now (and are hopefully feeling better!). Such fun little snippets this week. I just trimmed the heck out of my coleus and am propagating a new plant. I love that resilient little plant as I don't often have great luck keeping plants alive but never seem to kill that species.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your little snippets! My neighbor used to have silver dollars in her garden as well -- haven't seen any for a long time. Hope you found the source of problems and are feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteI love the pretty purple flowers in the silver on the silver dollar plants. In the past I sprayed the dried silver dollars with a clear finishing spray. You can try hair spray also. It helps keep them a little longer. Have you ever snipped your Coleus plants and saved them over the Winter? If not snip or break off some branches and put them in water to grow the roots. Plant them in pots and grow them over the winter. When each plant gets bigger snip off a branch and start over again. Then in the Spring you have coleus to plant outside..I’ve been doing that for years. Kathy- mklh82@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteKathy,
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by and also for the tip on how to preserve the silver dollars...I may try that with the coleus but I really do not have a space to keep them in over the Winter...Enjoy your week!!
Hugs,
Deb
