Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays
and Sundays every week so be sure to check back on those days to see a
new post......
Today, I will be sharing the rest of my Late Summer " Under the Sea" decorations in the Living Room....
In my last post, I shared some This and That for July....
New Buys, Crafting, Gardening and a few Sunsets.....
Click HERE if you missed it.....
Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
There was no Reheat and Eat Dinners from the WB Scranton Pens Food Service as Chef Steve is on vacation.....
On Sunday, It was cool enough to turn on the oven as we had low humidity and temps. in the mid 80's...
I made 3 loaves of zucchini bread from the 2 zucchini that joe got a week ago from the Amish Farmer....
I do not add anything to it like raisins, which we do not like, or nuts or chocolate chips.....
I do not put icing on top like a all of people do but I did sprinkle some cinnamon sugar on top.....
I feel there is enough calories in it as it is so I do not need to go and add even more....
I had about 3/4 's of a zucchini left so I decided to make up some zucchini slices....
I usually fry them up on top of the stove but since I had the oven on I looked online for directions to bake them instead....
The only thing different I did was spray them with Pam before putting them in the oven....
My Dad made these all the time and when I was pregnant with my son , Joey, these are what I craved.....
I made these that whole Summer....
Joey had reminded me that I had not made beef stew in quite some time so I decided to make a vat of it on Sunday.....
I used to add carrots to it but after watching Joey painstakingly pick out every single carrot when he was a kid, I decided it just was not worth it....
I add cans of mushroom instead....
We like it with rye bread and Joe picked up this great loaf of it at Price Chopper....
At least it is something that Joe likes and will eat....
I had Joe run a container up to our DIL Danielle as she likes this.....
She told me she even took some to work for lunch.....
My son, Jim, does not like it and will not eat it...
Truth be told, I only eat the potatoes and mushrooms and not too much of the meat...
Chef
Pat from the WB Scranton Penguins Food Service made meatloaf yesterday for
the RailRiders as they have the contract to provide meals for the
Scranton WB RailRiders Minor League Baseball Team...
Joe brought some
home.....
Looks good but there is NO WAY I am eating it as it is made
from ground BISON!!!
I know it is leaner with less fat and more
expensive than ground beef but I will pass on it....
LOL!
Just found out
the RailRiders were playing the Buffalo Bison which is why he made it!!
With my IBS and Post Gall Bladder syndrome, I will not take the chance of trying a new food.....
The Grand Pups are coming to stay for the next several days and I do not want to be sick....
Joey even took Friday off from work so he can spend more time with the pups even though he will be here in the afternoons on the weekend!!
LOL!!
Previously, I shared my "Under the Sea" Tree and the "Beach" underneath it.....
Click
HERE if you missed that post.....
Just a few months prior to that my
dear friend Anne Marie had gifted me some beautiful things the last
time she visited that would fit in perfectly with the theme of this Blog
Tour.....
And oddly enough, Joe had picked up these things at Dollar Tree!!!!
I knew I wanted to use all of them for my Tray ....
Once again, I decided to do my Tray as part of a tablescape....
Click HERE if you missed that post....
Today, I will be sharing the rest of my "Under the Sea" decorations in the Living Room....
Let's start at the front door.....
I "dabbled" a bit with this Dollar Tree sign by adding some scatter star fish and highlighting it with permanent markers....
Joe's Grandmother's Hutch....
I added aqua candles to the votives in the sconces and an aqua flower on the shelves.....
The top of the Hutch.....
I filled some apothecary jars with sand and shells and added a bow I made from aqua and peach ribbon to the top of them..........
I also added shells to the bottom of the candle holders I made from a Dollar Tree vase and candlestick and then placed battery operated candles on top of the shells....
I wrapped an aqua ribbon around the vase....
The Butterflies were gifts from Joe many years ago....
Aqua accents in the Hutch, which I will be doing a post on at a later date as part of my "What's in Your Hutch/Curio?" Series....
The stairs....
I added shells to the lanterns and made bows from aqua and peach ribbon....
The other side of the stairs.....
I also made this from a glass block....
I bought this lighted globe at Ollie's a few years back....
The corner...
I like to decorate this chair for the different Seasons and Holidays.....
This year, I set up a different display on the chair.....
Last year, I framed this graphic that I printed out ...
I added some scatter starfish to the frame....
On the chair are starfish that I embellished.....
And shells....
And a starfish and anchor that I made.....
Under the chair.....
2 lanterns....
I decorated the branch Tree with aqua butterfly, bird and dragonfly ornaments....
I had set the Tree in a galvanized tray that I filled with shells....
Above the curio.....
A Brian Baker Lighthouse....
I recently cleaned this curio and will also be sharing what is inside of it in a future post as part of my "What is in Your Hutch/Curio?" Series....
On the floor on the side of the curio....
Over on the other side of the room....
On the faux window....
I made these plaques several years ago and this year, I added some scatter starfish to them....
I also made the wreath several years ago...
This is a mini yard flag that Joe bought at Ollie's that I embellished with shells and scatter starfish....
I hope you enjoyed seeing my late Summer "Under the Sea" decorations in the Living Room for this year...
I enjoyed adding a few new things that were gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie and that Joe picked up in Dollar Tree....
I love your under the sea decor. The beach and sea is a favorite of mine. Your meals look yummy too! Happy August!
ReplyDeleteThis must take so many hours to create! I just love that it is truly "summer" at your house! I love how you place things to get just the right looks and ambiance. I don't know how you do it all! I have decided to decorate my front porch for fall and it is taking me weeks to get a plan together, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI don't ice zucchini bread either -- it doesn't need it, does it. That stew/soup looks so very good.
ReplyDeleteTropical and beach themed decor is my fav! Thanks so much for linking up at the Unlimited Link Party 78. Pinned.
ReplyDeleteI love the water but am not much into the under the water scene, but it sure does brighten the place up doesn't it. I really liked the big butterfly, it is so pretty in blues!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, your under the sea decor is so pretty. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!

I have always liked that starfish story. It applies to so many areas where someone is in need. Thanks for incorporating that into your design.
