In a previous post, I mentioned that I was waiting to receive my new replacement Camera from Kodak.....

I bought this camera less than 2 years ago but did not buy the extended warranty on it so when it stopped powering up a few weeks ago, I thought that I would be ordering another new camera.....

In fact, I actually had my son order a new one for me but promptly cancelled it after I placed a call to Kodak Customer Service

I did not expect to really get anywhere when I asked if there was something else I could do to power up the camera.....

You can imagine my surprise when I was told that if I sent them my camera and they determined that the camera was not damaged like being dropped on the floor or anything else like that, that they would in turn, send me a NEW replacement Camera!!!!!.....

On Tuesday, I received my new Camera.......

I have to say that I am extremely impressed with the Kodak Customer Service and I want to give Kodak a huge Shout Out for the way they handled the situation!!!

A Shout Out also to Dawn Brown who handled my case....

I am thrilled to have this Camera back as one of my Goals for this year was to learn more about it and be able to use it more effectively.....

I now will have a chance to do so!!

Now, I finally will be sharing today what type of Annual Flowers I planted in the Back Yard and Patio and how my Perennials are growing.....

We will start on the left side of the my Cottage Garden Back Yard........

Asters, a Shasta Daisy that I grew from seed last year, Rose Campion transplanted from a neighbor's garden and Missouri Primrose are planted here.....

My little Remembrance Garden for our 2 Fur Babies......

It amazes me how much clearer I can think now that I am not working and not in such a hurry and stressed out....

I decided to hang the Flower Bags that I plant every year on the Arbor instead of the Back Gate like I have in years past.....

Why I did not think of this before is beyond me.....

And it makes it so much easier to water them......

I plant each bag with 11 Impatiens........

I planted 3 Petunias in this pot inside the coal bucket.......

And 2 Impatiens each in this vintage watering cans......

In the left back corner of the yard...

More Asters, Missouri Primroses, a Lily, a Hosta and another Shasta Daisy......

These are 2 Martha Washington Geraniums.......

I planted them in these 2 pots.....

You may be noticing that I have placed white stones and rocks in the pots in which I planted my Annuals.....

Last year, I waged a War against the Squirrels that insist on burying the peanuts that my neighbor is feeding them by the bag full in my pots, digging out my flowers and killing them.....

In a previous post, I shared that I put white stones in the pots that hold my Dwarf Alberta Spruce Trees......

I realized that in doing this, the Squirrels were not burying the peanuts in these pots so I decided to put rocks in the other pots where I planted flowers.....

 And GUESS WHAT?????

It worked......

The Squirrels are leaving my pots alone!!!!!

I ran out of rocks and white stones so I used gem stones in these that I transplanted Lamb's Ear in.....

I shared this part of the Back Yard Cottage Garden in my post showcasing my Fairy Gardens.....

Click HERE if you missed it.....

Joe bought this hanging planter from an Amish Farmer.....

I placed pots planted with succulents ( hens and chicks) inside of it.....

The Columbine is blooming....

The purple flowers are Bugleweed Ajuga, a ground cover perennial.....

A Petunia planted in that red watering can.....

3 begonias planted in this pot in this chair.......

The right side of the yard.......

Marigolds planted in the pot in the plant stand......

2 Impatiens planted in this Bird Cage.....

Impatiens planted in the Bird Bath that has a hole in it, that was once a fountain, and 2 Marigolds planted in the pot in the middle of it......

The Patio.......

More pots.....

2 Marigolds in the green pot and 3 Petunias planted in the pot in the yellow Milk Crate.....

In the corner of the Patio.....

2 Marigolds in the aqua pot....

One Impatien in the Fairy Garden pot I made, one Marigold in the purple pot and 2 Impatiens in the green pot on the bottom.....

One Impatien in the pot in the corner....

Do you see the Spider on the wall in the picture above?????

3 Impatiens in the pot in this chair on the Patio....

One Marigold in this pot.....

3 Impatiens in this hanging pot....

One Begonia in this pot....

In this corner of the Patio.....

1 Petunia in this pot.....

Over the years, I have learned to plant my annuals in pots sparingly to allow them to grow and not be crowded out.....

My Goal was not to spend more than $75 on flowers this year as I have spent well over double that in years past.....

I am proud to say that i only spent a total of $57 between the annuals in the Front yard and Porch and the Back Yard and Patio.....

I bought almost all flats that contained multiple plants of the same flowers.....

On the edge of the Patio on this side are 2 planters that I planted Marigold Seeds in.....

I covered them with Chicken Wire to keep the Squirrels and Chipmunks out.....

And it worked!!!!!

These pictures was taking through the Den windows.....

Yes, he is standing on the wire but can't bury his peanut!!!!

SO.......

Because I put stones, rocks and gemstones in all my pots in the Back Yard and it is working to keep the Squirrels and the Chipmunks out of the pots, what did they do??????

They moved around to the Front of my house!!!!!!

So I had Joe buy another bag of rocks and did  this in the Front of the house.......

The Squirrels particularly loved to bury peanuts in these planter but NO MORE!!!!!

The Chipmunks love to dig in these small pots on the Front Porch so I found these rocks in my stash to prevent that......

I recycled this glass solar light that no longer works into a Candle Holder for a citronella candle ....

My son keeps saying that the Squirrels are planning their next round of attacks.....

We will see who wins this War but I think I may have won the Battle so far.....

Chipmunks and Squirrels are not our only visitors in the front.....

We now have a family of 3 Morning Doves roaming around our Front Porch and Yard....

Last weekend, we had temps. that barely hit 50 degrees...

This weekend, we will be in the 90's!!!

I hate the hot weather but I do hope that with the rain we have had recently and now the heat, my flowers will start to take off and grow!!

We got another 1/2 inch of rain on Friday after the 2 inches we got in the beginning of the week......

In my next post, I will be sharing a Landscaping Project that I did on our Court....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  1. Oh I love your gardens. I always enjoy visiting. Especially now since I don't have a garden I enjoy it more. And making notes for when I get to start adding pots to our Porch! I am glad you share. Enjoy your beautiful garden and life.

  2. We are playing those temperature games here too. It is not that long ago I was moving plants into the garage to avoid the freezing temperatures overnight. Now we are in the 90's too. Thank goodness we had a lot of rain because my plants are exploding! And thank goodness we had a long enough break that my husband could mow on Friday.

Your patio is so cheerful. I just love all the summer colors in your plants and accessories. You did so well with your budget, too. I knew we were going to be doing NOTHING this summer so I may have spent a little more (LOL) than usual. But I am so in love with everything, I think I might need to start saving for next year! Good luck with those squirrels. I thought you had them outsmarted. Fingers crossed for the next battle.

  3. The entire patio is so fresh and happy, filled with your wonderful attention to detail, but those Martha Washington Geraniums are outstanding. I've never seen them before and they so pretty. Love that pink!! You must really enjoy yourself out there.

  5. I always enjoy visiting your garden. So nice to see the Doves. We had a Cardinal family. But now all we have are Sea Gulls. No trees around us. Thanks for sharing your garden
