Hats Off and Sweet Treats for the 4th of July!!!! A Tail of 2 Patriotic Tablescapes...

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Can you believe it is the 4th of July weekend already????????

Today, I am going to be sharing 2 different Patriotic Tablescapes!!!!!

But first a few Personal Notes...

Our son Jim and his wife Danielle walk a lot for exercise.....

They sometimes take Little Faye with them and she gets tired out and they have to carry her.....

SO.....

They bought Faye a stroller!!!!

Okay, I know you are wondering just as I was what the heck is that "thing" on the handle??????

Well, it is her water bottle!!!

LOL!!

Apparently she can be zipped inside of it.....

They said that she seems to like it!!!

She also now likes to lay in front of the sliding glass doors in their Dining Room in the Sun!!

We had a little scare with this sweet little baby.....

Jim discovered a lump on her belly but the Vet was not worried about it and said it could be from when she was spayed.....

They have to watch it for a change in size....

Hopefully, it is nothing serious.....

Most if the United States is in the grips of severe Heat.....

Here in NEPA, we get humidity that you could pretty much cut the air with a knife.......

After hitting 94 yesterday and breaking records.....

We hit 96 on Tuesday, making it our third day above 90, an official Heat Wave for this area....

So I have been holed up in the house with the shades drawn to keep the blazing Sun out and the air conditioners set on 64 degrees......

Since it has been truly way too hot to do much of anything, I decided to "PLAY!"

Bloggers love Tablescaping or Teascaping and I used to do a lot of it when I first started to blog.....

Joe bought these 2 Patriotic tablecloths at Ocean State Job Lot, using Crazy Deal Gift Cards that he got from purchasing something else....

$3.49 each....

But essentially they were FREE because of the Crazy Deal gift cards!!!!!

SO.......

I decided to "PLAY" and do 2 Patriotic Tablescapes, celebrating the 4th of July!!!

Memorial Day is a solemn Observance of those who lost their lives fighting for this Country......

While July 4th, on the other hand, is a Celebration of our Freedom as a Country!!!!!

We wish others a Happy 4th of July!!!

You really should not wish people a "Happy" Memorial Day as it is not really a day for Happiness!!

But with the 4th of July,  we are celebrating the Birth of our Country!!!

Our Country's Birthday, so to speak!!!!

This year, many of the traditional home town and big city Celebrations will go on like they did pre-CoVid......

I hope people will be cautious as there is a new variant out there that is quite dangerous and there has been reported cases of vaccinated people coming down with this new variant......

Even though I am fully vaccinated, I will continue to wear a mask in public as I do not trust other people and I want to protect family members of mine that are not vaccinated......

But since I choose to rarely leave my home, I don't really have to worry about it....

especially with this horrific heat.....

Maybe I will get out more in the Fall when it will be much more tolerable to do so!

I will be hosting our July 4th Celebration on Sunday for our family of 5 plus Faye!!

Looking forward to it, especially since the weather will be a lot cooler.....

 Well, on to the Tablescapes!!!

This is the first one I did!!

Celebrating the 4th of July with a Sweet Treat Tablescape!!

This is more of a Nostalgic Patriotic Tablescape......

A bit "Old Fashioned"......

I started with this tablecloth, a vinyl one.......

I made it simple and set the table for 2.......

Let's take a look at the place setting first.....

I started with this place mat that Joe bought on Clearance last year......

It is reversible and you will see the other side with the next tablescape..........

I used my red handled flatware......

And Ruby Red Depression Glass Tumblers......

I used these Wood Grain Charger Plates......

And  went with red and blue transferware dishes, keeping with that Nostalgic feel....

This is the marking on the dinner plate.....

English Village by Salem China Co.

I went with w red transferware salad plate....

 The markings on this plate....

Old Britain Castles by Johnson Bros.

Next came a tea cup and saucer......

 The markings on this saucer....

Again, English Village, matching the dinner plate.....

And the matching tea cup.....

The place setting on the other side of the table.....

I am calling this tablescape, A "Sweet Treat Tablescape".......

Because of these "Sweet Treats" that my dear friend, Angela, gifted me!!!!

 She handcrafted them herself.....

 Amazing, aren't they?????

We celebrate the 4th of July with Fire Crackers, waving Flags during Home Town parades, having cook outs with good foods and eating yummy desserts......

 "Sweet Treats"!!!!

I decorated the center of this table with that theme in mind......

I pulled things for this Tablescape from my Patriotic decorations in the Living Room......

I tucked a Patriotic pinwheel, bought at Dollar Tree, into a floral arrangement........

It reminds me of the Ferris Wheel on the Broadwalk at Wildwodd, N.J. where my family vacationed for almost 4 decades, many times during the week of July 4th.......

What is the 4th of July Celebration without Uncle Sam......

Fire Crackers that I made out of paper towel and toilet paper rolls...

Placed on each side of the table......

I borrowed the Patriotic Carolers that I bought years ago at The Christmas Tree Shop from where I had them on top of the TV Entertainment Center.....

The Cup Cake dishes , also from The Christmas Tree Shop, go along with the "Sweet Treat" theme.....

The "Celebrating Our Independence" wood block was bought on Clearance at Gabes.....

A tray of "Sweet Treats" on top of a paper place mat from this book.........

I used this one......

 I turned the lights down......

The candles remind us that the 4th of July is a Birthday Celebration.....

 The Birthday of our Country.......

Let's make a wish and blow the candles out, hoping that the Best is yet to come for this County, even with the Pandemic is going on.....

And we all will make it through this......

Next up is my second Patriotic Tablescape.......

I started with this tablecloth.....

I Love the cute dogs on this tablecloth.....

Hence, the title of this post....A Tail of 2 Patriotic Tablescapes.....

" Hats Off to America" Tablescape

This is more of a Whimsical Tablescape........

Again, we will start with the place setting.......

You remember this place mat from the first Tablescape.........

I flipped it over and used this side of it.......

I decided to use my white dinner plates that have a gold trim around the edge.......

I bought them at The Christmas Tree Shop on Clearance several years ago for $1.00 each!!!!!

Once again, I am using my red handle flatware......

I added one of my red heart plates that I bought after Valentine's Day on Clearance at Target many years ago........

I bought this blue glass at Salvation Army for 99 cents.....

I topped it all off with a Patriotic Hat favor from Dollar Tree....

The place setting on the other side of the table.......

I decorated the center of this Tablescape with a more whimsical theme dealing with America and the USA!!!....

A firecracker from Michael's and a " Land of the Free" wood block from Gabes on this side.....

The blue glass dishes were bought at Salvation Army and since I am making M&M cookies for the Holiday, I threw the red, blue and yellow M&M's that I will be using for the cookies in these dishes!!!

The other side.......

Joe bought this flag that plays several Patriotic tunes and "waves" in the breeze on Clearance a few years back.......

"Home Sweet Home" wood block......

The "Little Red Racer" Wagon was my neighbor Elly's.....

Inside of it are 2 bears from Elly's Bear Collection, wearing "God Bless America" sweaters and an Uncle Sam Nutcracker!!!

A Patriotic floral arrangement with a fan tucked into it sits in the center of the wagon......

And a "God Bless America" wood sign is proudly displayed in front of the wagon, matching those sweet Bear's sweaters......

A Dollar Tree hat and an "American as Apple Pie" wood block.....

Surrounded by candles......

Again, celebrating America's Birthday......

Ready to blow the candles out after singing "Happy Birthday" to America?????

I hoped you enjoyed seeing my 2 different Patriotic Tablescapes as much as I enjoyed "playing" around to create them!!!!

I hope you will join me on Sunday when, for my next post, I will be sharing my July 4th Front Porch and my Patriotic Home Tour with maybe a few new additions.......

Until then......

Wishing you all a very HAPPY JULY 4TH WEEKEND!!!!!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  3. Both of your tables are just terrific, but I have a special place in my heart for transferware. Yours are so lovely and so lovely together!

This heat is wiping me out. We had five grandsons here today. I took them for a neighborhood scavenger hunt early this morning, to tire them out before the heat (it was only in the 80's today) and this afternoon we attended a very interesting presentation on blue birds sponsored by a local library under a picnic shelter between rain drops. The presenter must be a grandpa. He was wonderful with the kids. It is challenging to find things for them to do when it is over 100 with the heat factor.

  4. Little Miss Faye is sooo cute! Many years ago I had a cockapoo that went on walks with me and when he was tired he'd get in front of me then just stop. :) Your family will certainly enjoy your festive table! As always, I love the transferware.
Take care and have a glorious 4th!
    Blessings, Linda

  5. I couldn't decide which patriotic tablescape I liked best, so I will just say I liked them both. I will say though, I loved that Uncle Sam nutcracker. He was cool. As for Faye, I'm sure everything will be just fine. That stroller was a good idea, and I'm sure she loves it. Not too hot where we live so I'm grateful for that. Happy 4th of July to you and your family.

  8. Hi Debbie: Little Faye, what a little darling. I love the stroller and might have to get one for Robin. She will only walk on the leash for a little while and then just sits down and will not move. If you want to get from point A to point B you have to pick her up. Little bodies are not always light weight! I love both your tablescapes. I wouldn't know which on to choose. They are both a load of fun..Happy 4th and stay cool. I know that is a hard order right now..xxoJudy

  15. Hi Debbie,

Oh, my goodness! What an awesome patriotic display you have! My all time favorites are the blue and red vintage plate stack/ with cup and also the patriotic carolers!!! Are they Beyers Choice figurines by any chance? Sooo cute! There are so many wonderful things to look at! Thank you, by the way, for visiting on my site! I do appreciate the sweet comments! Wishing you a very happy 4th of July!
