"Under the Sea" Themed Tree, 2020

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I have just about finished decorating the Living Room in my late Summer theme, "Under the Sea"....

Today, I will be sharing my Living Room "Under the Sea" Tree with you......

But first,I want to Thank, Barb, over at French Ethereal, for featuring my post, 4th of July Patriotic Porch, from last week's Share Your Style Linky Party!!
Thanks so much, Barb!!

Please stop by and link up to this wonderful party!!
This is the first time I decorated this 7 ft. "evergreen" Tree in the Living Room in the "Under the Sea" theme.....

Last year because of my surgery, I was unable to decorate for the different Holidays and for the seasons of Spring and Summer....
I had previously decorated this 6 foot white Tree in this theme for 2 years....
In the Fall, I tossed out the white Tree which was showing signs of age and wear....

Therefore deciding to leave this Tree up year round.....
Last week, I stripped down the Tree to the lights after it was decorated for the Patrioitc Holidays of the Summer....
Back in 2017, I got the idea to decorate a Tree in a Nautical Beach theme because of these shells......
My neighbor Elly lived in Miami during the Winter months before her 2nd husband passed away and had quite a collection of shells that she had picked from the beach and cleaned and separated into containers......

Her sons were going to throw them all out......

I could not let all her hard work go to waste so I took them and decided to made a few ornaments out of them......
Click HERE if you would like to see how I made them......

I also ordered wooden anchors on Amazon and made them into these ornaments....
Along with sand dollars, more shells and star fish that I had at home.....
Click HERE if you want to see the original post I did about them......

I ordered more wooden cut outs, this time sea horses and made more ornaments out of some that I had at home......
Click HERE if you would like to see how I made these......

Last Christmas, I bought a few more ornaments on Clearance in this theme.....
I started to decorate this Tree by wrapping it in aqua deco mesh like a garland.....
I then topped the Tree off with a bow made of white and aqua deco mesh ribbon.....
I tucked these branches that I bought one year in Dollar Tree into the top of the Tree because they reminded me of something you would see growing on a beach.....
I then wrapped the Tree with a rope that one would see around boats.......
And I added netting that I had bought in Michael's to the deco mesh garland
I then started to decorate the Tree with the ornaments....
I then added all the shell ornaments......
I think I actually like the "evergreen" Tree decorated in this theme better than the white one.....
I think that the ornaments stand out better on this Tree......
I hope you enjoyed seeing my "Under the Tree" for this year as much as I enjoyed decorating it!!!

Since I am now leaving this Tree on the platform year round, I get to decorate under the Tree.....
In my next post, I will be sharing the "beach" underneath my "Under the Sea" Tree also.......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  5. Your trees are all so unique and so lovely. I was just thinking, it is too bad that more people can't enjoy them. Now, this is just an idea, and I know it is impossible with Covid. And you might not want to share them and that's cool too, but.

Years ago I worked as a library assistant. We had a few display areas in the library and I was always on the look out for someone checking out books for a unique hobby or people I heard about that might be willing to share some items for display. I wonder if your library would enjoy having you come in and decorate a tree in theme every so often. Most libraries already have a tree that they decorate at Christmas (I know our local garden club does ours). You would not have to be seasonal; for example there is no reason why your under the sea tree couldn't be February or something. Just an idea. Your trees are so beautiful and unique!

    These ornaments are lovely.

  7. Your tree is beautiful! I love the color scheme you have going on. When my husband's grandparents passed away we found an entire room filled with shells of all sorts from their yearly trips to Florida. Luckily we knew a bride that needed shells for her wedding and shower so they didn't go to waste.
