Pictures Disappearing....

Has anyone else on Blogger noticed that their pictures on their posts are disappearing to be replaced by a large white block where the picture was????

I have noticed it on my posts and on other Blogger's posts?

Anybody know what is going on or how can it be fixed????

  1. Hi Debbie, Yes, I see at least one of my pictures is gone! I have no idea what is going on. I was at someone's blog yesterday, and all of the pictures had that square in place of a picture. I just thought it was a problem with that person's blog, but now I see it is a Blogger issue I guess. Yikes

  2. Hi there, it's a big Blogger problem. They addressed it in the help forums yesterday, saying that they were aware of it and working on a fix. Hopefully, it will be soon!

  4. Yes, I have several blogs and pictures are disappearing. When I view in HTML mode it's one big mess.

Spent time today and yesterday re-upoading them after downloading everything from my archives (which are still intact).

  8. I'd best go check on mine but I have noticed it in the posts of others. Hopefully this will be a short-lived blogger problem.

  9. This is how I re-built those blog posts from which pictures had disappeared.

    1. In "view" mode run the cursor down the post to select all. Paste this into a blank microsoft Notepad page. Notepad, because you want clean text only and not stray HTML.

    2. In "view" mode left click on blank image squares and right click to "select image as" to reveal NAME of image. Do not save. (Pointless). Rather copy and paste the image name into the appropriate place on the text file created at 1.

Now you have all the info needed to re-create the post exactly as it was. So ...

    3. In "edit" mode select "HTML". (The huge blocks of irrelevant HTML in a faulty post will be evident). Staying in HTML mode run the cursor down to select EVERYTHING and delete. Don't worry. This will not delete the post title, date, or tags. And you haven't clicked "Update" yet so no harm is done.

    4. You should now be looking at a completely blank square. Click on "compose", THEN click back on HTML to see the code which basically says "dv dir ltr style text-align left trbidi on br dv" has been re-created. (Comments don't allow the full code here). It has. Good.

    5. Go back to "compose" view, and paste in from your Notepad (saved in 1), your first paragraph, stopping just before the place you pasted in the name of the first image.

    6. To insert the first image choose the "from this blog" option. If you recognise the image, no problem. If you need to see the name, and match it to the note you made at 2, you will need to view it in your Album Archive.

Proceeding in this way, alternating between instructions 5 and 6, you can re-create the post exactly as was. It seems a bit painstaking at first, but one soon gets into it.

I doubt Blogger is ever going to find a fix for removing all that random stuff you'll find at number 3.

    1. I simply copy and pasted my new post on to a drafted post as a back up should the pictures disappear so I could pull from the second drafted post...

  10. Late to the party here, but its happening again. I've been searching around to see if anyone else has the same problem. I started hosting my blog photos on Google Photos which I thought might cure the problem, but it doesn't. Don't hold out much hope for Blogger to fix whatever the bug is that causes the issue either.
