A Garden Tea Table in My Sitting Room, My Very Own Bed and Breakfast Series

 Welcome!!!!!

Today, I will be sharing my Garden Themed Tea Table in my Sitting Room......

But first, I want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn , for choosing my post,  2 Tea Cup Shelves in the Dining Room, as one of her features from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Party !!
Thanks so much, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to this great party!!

In a previous post, I showed you how I decorated the mantle on my "faux" fire place in the Sitting Room in a Fairy Garden theme.......
I had decided the decorate the Sitting Room in a Garden theme for the Summer after I hung this wreath that I made on the door of the Sitting Room....
In keeping with the Garden theme, I set up the table in the one corner of the room as a Garden Tea  Table.........
This is the corner where the Tree stood at Christmas.........
The Tree is moved downstairs and decorated for the Patriotic Summer Holidays which I will share in another post.......
This is the perfect corner for the Tea Table because my Tea Cup shelf is also hung in this corner!!
This room has a pretty floral border as you can see below........
That is why I decided to go with a Garden theme in this room ......
The top of the table.....
2 ceramic dishes that were made by my niece Lisa commemorating my 2 son's births hang on the wall......
I embellished the shade on the lamp on the table when I changed the Guest Room into a Sitting Room a few years ago.......
I had used various trims from my stash.......
The lamp is a vintage capodimonte lamp......
Let's take a look at what is on top of the table......
Let's take a look on the left side......
The vase is a yard sale find that cost $1.00.....
In front of the vase is a creamer and sugar bowl that is part of a vintage Tea Set.......
I scattered a few flower seed packets around the display......
The center of the table.......
A tea cup and saucer that is part of the Tea Set.......
A bird's nest with eggs sits inside of the tea cup........

Isn't the pattern on the tea cup pretty?????
A vintage plate with a pretty pattern which was also bought at a flea market rests behind the tea cup and saucer.......
2 yellow ceramic birds also grace the table along with a Garden stepping stone bought at Dollar Tree....
Over on the right side......
Another bird and the matching tea post which is sitting on a pedestal.....
The bright pink doily on the pedestal was found in the Dollar bins at Michael's and it is topped with a vintage doily.....
The pattern on the tea set (which I paid $8.00 for including 4 tea cups and saucers) many years ago at yard sale just screams Summer.....
Another flower seed packet.....
A pretty tea and toast set with an egg sitting in the dish.....
I think my Tea table depicts a Garden Tea even though it is indoors......
I made the tablecloth on the table by sewing the dust ruffle from a sheet set to the bottom of the table cloth, trimming it to the right size for the table......
On top of the table cloth is a vintage topper and a scarf with pink tatting around the edges.........
Can you see the scarf with the pink tatting border?????

Tatting is a lost art.....My Mother tried to teach me when I was a young girl and I just could not pick it up......
Do you see the tea cup pockets in the corners of the topper????

You can put a ta bag packet in the pocket!!!
Isn't the embroidery precious!!
The other pocket.....
I love the delicate trim around the topper......

A bistro chair is to the side of the table......
I re-covered the chair a few years ago using the sheet set that matches the dust ruffle.....
The tassel trim on the chair match the trim on the dust ruffle that I added on to the table cloth......
You can see that I also used the same trim on the pillows......
A sweet Ballerina Bearington Bunny sits on the chair along with a pair of gloves that I embellished.....
A lace parasol rests up against the chair.......
I hope you enjoyed my Garden Tea Table........
This post is part of my series, My Very Own Bed and Breakfast.....

As I have mentioned many times before, I am a Victorian Soul and the Dining Room is the one room in our townhouse that in my opinion, is the most Victorian looking room........

But before I go any further, I would like to explain my decision for decorating my home in the Victorian fashion.........

Several years ago, I realized that due to numerous health issues, traveling would no longer be something that I would be able to do....

So I decided to turn our 1970's townhouse into my very own vacation home......

I love the Victorian Era and would love nothing more then to stay in Victorian Bed and Breakfast Homes.......

So I decided that our home would become my very own Victorian Bed and Breakfast and I would then feel as if I was on vacation every time I walked through the front door.......

In future posts, I will be sharing more of my Garden Themed Sitting Room......
 And my Garden chandy.......
Along with more tea cups....
Also in a future post, I will be sharing more of my faux fire place decorated for the Summer in  a Garden theme......
And how I decorated the hearth area of the fire place......
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

  4. Hi Deb: It is all such prettiness as always. I love that little topper with the tea pockets. Very clever. I love your explanation for the reason why you decorate like you do. I feel like our home is our vacation spot for now. Always something to do and money is not as plentiful after retirement! Are you having trouble getting comments into your e-mail. I have read some are having that problem and today I am too. I hate leaving my answers under other's comments as most people don't come back to read the blog a second time and I don't want anyone to think I have just ignored them. If you know anything about this, would you mind letting me know?..Happy Tuesday and thank you for your sweet visit and kind words..xxoJudy

  9. Debbie, I've never seen a tablecloth with pockets before--what a beauty! Your sunny yellow corner set for tea "in the garden" looks so inviting. And that gardening wreath is so clever!
