Easter in the Kitchen, Part 1, 2016

Today, I would like to share my Easter decorations in the Kitchen..........
I am doing this in 2 posts with this being Part 1.......

I always call this my Focal Wall in the Kitchen.......
In this post, I will be sharing my hutch......
I like to decorate this hutch for the different Holidays and Seasons.....
The shelves in the hutch are now displaying my "regular" Kitchen stuff!!
But I wanted to add a bit of Easter so I hung a few things on the hutch........
I hung an Easter plaque and a set of Easter dishes on a rack.......
My Kitchen is decorated in red, green and yellow so I tried to look for Easter things in those colors......
The yellow plaque was bought at Michael's.......
And the Easter rack and dishes were a gift........
I used red and yellow ribbons to hang the rack.......
This hutch is actually a desk and top of a piece of bedroom furniture that I married together many years ago.
I mainly use the desk area for my Seasonal and Holiday displays.......
Again, trying to keep with the red and yellow Easter color theme.......
I thought that yellow Easter chicks would work well......
Vintage style paper eggs in a container bought at Michaels......
A green Easter egg plaque.......
This egg was made by my MIL in ceramics class many years ago........
The words are Polish and mean "Happy Easter"!
I was lucky enough to find a bag of Pysanky Eggs at a Flea Market several years ago......
Pysanky Eggs were made by the Eastern Europeans, such as the Polish ( of which we are descendants of ), the Russians, the Lithuanians and the Slovaks who settled in this area in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Joe always comments on spending most of his time in Catholic School around Easter, being taught to make Pysanky Eggs by the nuns!!!

The Catholic School he went to was run by the "Russian" Greek Orthodox Church that is laterally in his parent's back yard. The "Polish" Church that his family actually belonged to , did not have a school so most of the children in the town went to the "Russian" Church's School.

This is the same church where the women of the parish make and sell home made Pierogies weekly through out the year!!
They sell them already cooked , with butter and onions in these nice containers for a mere $6.00 a dozen. We usually stock up on about 10 dozen and pop them in the freezer and just pop them in the microwave for a quick meal.
They taste just like the ones my Mother used to make!!

The cute chick dish was bought at Michael's for 90% off on Clearance in Michael's.....
The cabbage bowl came from a neighbor.......
Another vintage style paper egg.....
Bunnies, Chicks and a Lamp......
Underneath the desk........
An Easter bottle bought at The Christmas Tree Shop.......
And a few eggs......
On the side of the hutch......
Again, my feeble attempt at chalkboard art for Easter........
And that ends this post on Part 1 of my Easter decorations in the Kitchen......
In my next post, I will be sharing Part 2 of my Easter decorations in the Kitchen......
So I hope you will come by and visit  again!!

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......
