I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....

I feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I was....

I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....

I want to Thank Charity, over at Mornings on Macedonia, for choosing my post, Fall Front Porch, as her features from last week's Whimsy Home Wednesday Link Party!!

Thanks so much, Charity!!

Please stop by and link up to this amazing party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

The events of this past week are heart breaking....

Violence in our Country is at an all time high....

I am talking about the shooting of 5 Police Officers in York County here in Pennsylvania, which resulted in the deaths of 3 of those officers and the other 2 fighting for their lives....

Our amazing Governor Josh Shapiro, who was also the victim of uncalled for violence in an assassination attempt when the Governor's Mansion was set on fire, has called for all Unites States and State of Pennsylvania Flags to be flown at half staff....

As it should be for the True American Heroes that serve the people of this State and Country in Law Enforcement....

Please pray for the wounded officers and all the families affected by yet another senseless act of violence in this Country...

On the brighter side, my son Joey and I enjoyed a wonderful event my church this past Saturday....

It was our annual Fall Fest!!

For a mere $25 a ticket,we enjoyed pork sandwiches from a pig roast, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, french fries, meatballs, Mac N Cheese, apple cider doughnuts and soft pretzels....

In our Festival kitchen garages, you went through an assembly line, coming out to a table, which included Father Alex's 2 different types of homemade BBQ sauce, homemade sauerkraut and hot dog sauce, onions, tomatoes and the usual condiments!!

There was entertainment and a Game trailer for the children along with some lawn games....

This is Father Alex helping a young Mom out with her baby carriage as she carried trays of food to one of the tables under a large tent....

 The weather was beautiful....

We sat with some of my friends and talked with a lot of other friends....

The next day, after Mass, they were giving away the left over pork....

They gave me a very generous portion and Joey and I had another meal out of it on Monday!!!

It has been a busy week as I attended a HOA meeting where we elected new officers for our townhouse development and voted on a new amendment prohibiting the feeding of any wild animals including feral cats, which I have advocated for for years...

We are now having a problem with bears coming out the woods on the side of us and ripping the doors off our garbage dumpsters to raid the dumpsters before they go into hibernation...

The doors on the dumpsters had needed to be replaced twice already and they are strewing garbage all over the tree line and even on our main road...

They are particularly aggressive this year so we do not need people putting food out in front of their houses which could possibly bring the bear right up to our front doors!!

My squirrel feeding neighbor was not too happy about this !!

Too bad.....

I also had a Senior Group meeting at my church....

I am now the newly elected President!

Good Grief!!

What have I got myself into?????

 LOL!!

Today, I am continuing my tour of the Living Room decorated in, what I call, an Elegant Autumn theme....

I want to share how I decorated the top of the TV Entertainment Center which I treat as if it was a mantel on a fireplace.....

As I shared in my last post, I tried working a bit more aqua into my Fall decor in the Living Room since the walls in that room are painted aqua below the chair rail....

Last week, I found a velvet like aqua pumpkin garland in Dollar Tree for $3....

So we will take a look at the garland first.....

For over a year now, I have been leaving a basic evergreen garland up on the TV Entertainment Center and just using it as a base to build on when decorating the garland for the different Holidays and Seasons....

Once again, I just added a Fall leaf garland to the evergreen one along with my new aqua colored pumpkin garland........

I tucked some Dollar Tree hanging orange and green florala into each side....

And hung an leaf ornament with Thankful written on it....

I also strung a set of fairy lights that come on by timer throughout the garland....

On this side, I hung a leaf ornament with Gather written on it....

Last year, I passed on my Harvest Village, that I displayed here for many years, to family....

I pretty much kept it the way I decorated it last year....

 On the left side....

On the end, is a pumpkin I made using a toilet paper roll.....

Next to it is an acorn that I bought in Big Lot's several years ago....

In the center....

A wreath that I made hung on a wreath stand....

Last year, I bought these Dollar Tree chargers....

And decided to glue them to the back of these plaques......

I placed them on each side of the wreath....

One of the pumpkins that I embellished a few years ago....

And two smaller ones on each side .....

On the right side.....

A squirrel that I also bought in Big Lot's.....

And another toilet paper pumpkin....

 On the shelves....

Some pumpkins and acorns.....

Gifts from my son Jim and DIL Danielle....

And in front of the TV Entertainment Center.....

An arrangement I did in a red wagon.....

On top of the chest....

An arrangement I did inside of a ceramic pumpkin that I bought at a church flea market....

A cute scarecrow I bought a few years back in Gabes...

I placed two signs on top of each other in front of the chest...

On the side of the chest.....

And that is how the TV Entertainment Center looks for Fall this year ....

I hoped you enjoyed seeing it.....

And I hope you will stop by to visit again on SATURDAY for my next post...

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  3. Love your front porch decorated for Fall. While out and about I am seeing a couple of places decorated for Hallowe'en. You will make a great president of the senior group. Your church has so many delicious looking events for food and get togethers. Yikes, bears! good idea to stop all types of wildlife feeding till they go away. Have a lovely weekend.

  4. Your mantle is just beautiful , Deb. It is so elegant and warm . Your attention to detail is spot on. Fabulous job. Law enforcement officers are true heroes. My heart aches for those who lost their lives in the line of duty and for their families. Have a blessed day.

  5. Thank you for bringing attention to the three police officers who died, and the two who were seriously wounded, in the line of duty. My sympathy goes out to their loved ones and the people of Pennsylvania. It was especially meaningful with the rest of your post where you shared the fellowship of friends at your church and the welcoming of a new season in your home.

  6. I giggled a bit to myself when I read that you are the newly elected Senior Social Grop president! You will do an amazing job but I wondered how you'd fit it all in! No doubt you'll find a way! Loved all your decor and the photos from your Fall Fest at church. What a festive (and yummy) event! I thought of you when I heard the sad news about the officer shootings. My heart aches for their families and the community! May the week ahead show glimpses of light and care!

  9. Oh my heart goes out to those police officers and their families. I sure hope everyone listens to the new rules; no one needs to find a bear at their door. EEK! Your mantel is looking beautiful.
