Hens, Roosters and a Bit of Strawberries in the Kitchen

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays and Sundays every week so be sure to check back on those days to see a new post......

Today, I will be sharing how I decorated the Kitchen in a French Country, Country Victorian theme of Hens and Roosters for late Spring and Early Summer....

I figured I better share it now as I will be changing it after July 4th to a different late Summer look that I have been planning since last year....

In my last post, I shared the rest of my Summer Patriotic decor in the Living Room which is the only room that I decorate for the Summer Patriotic Holidays...

Click HERE if you missed this post....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

 Food of the Week

This week's Reheat and Eat Dinners from the WB Scranton Pens Food Service.....

Grilled Chicken Alfredo with Fettuccini Pasta & Roasted Seasonal Vegetables one dinner each for Joey and I

Sweet BBQ Glazed Meatloaf with Au Gratin Potatoes & Grilled Seasonal Vegetables for Joe

We have had each of these dinners before and they were both very good.....

We have had our Grand Pups since Sunday evening as our son Jim and DIL Danielle are in NYC for a few days....

They went to a concert in Times Square which is where the hotel that they are staying at is and hope to be able to see one more Broadway show while there as they were going to see The Lion King today...

Now of course, I have lots of cute pictures of the pups to share....

During the day, they lay on their separate ottomans as I moved the one from the Den into the Living Room.....

This is my sleeping arrangement for 4 days...

Azumi sleeps on the ottoman with the aqua throw and I lay sideways on the sofa with my feet on the other ottoman and Faye sleeps , curled up in a ball in the corner against the arm of the sofa...

We all slept well this way!!

Sorry about the Sun as I took these from the doorway with Faye laying out in the Sun in the Patio with Joe.....

 So cute!!

I am not a fan of Farmhouse, at least not in my own home...

I do admire it in other's homes though....

Even though it is not my style, I can still appreciate it ...

Too bad that Politics can not be like that here in America any more....

I have decorated my Kitchen, which is done in red and yellow, for many years with Roosters and Hens........

Remember back in the 80's when everything was Geese in blue and pink????

Well, I had chickens and roosters in red and yellow.....

Yes, I have always tended to buck what was in style at different times.....

I have always loved the French Country look of a red Kitchen with Hens and Roosters....

I added my own touch of Country Victorian and Vintage to it making it a very Eclectic Kitchen....

After I took down all the Easter decorations, I decided to go all out with the Hens and Roosters for the rest of Spring and beginning of the Summer until the 4th of July....

Plus I threw in a little bit of Strawberries.....

We will start over at what I call my focal wall as it serves no functional purpose at all....

Too bad my entire Kitchen was like that as I really hate to cook!!!

On the left side of the hutch.....

You can see where I hung my new sign from Big Lots!

Rise & Shine Mother Cluckers....

Below the chair rail....

Now that I have packed away the Kitchen Tree that I decorate from Fall/Halloween til Easter, I brought my vintage yellow milk can that I bought at a yard sale for 5 bucks down from the attic...

Just a reproduction Gold Medal Flour tin and a pear in a green depression glass dish on the shelf of the Chalkboard that a former co worker gave me....

The milk can is filled with greenery, red and yellow roses and a lighted branch.....

The hutch is now back to "normal" decor after I packed away the Easter decorations....

Mostly filled with vintage or vintage style items....

On the shelves....

The desk area of the Hutch....

This is where I set up a Strawberry display for the Summer......

You may remember that I made these strawberries out of styrofoam eggs from Dollar Tree.....

Red and yellow flowers with a strawberry bush in the milk can vase.....

A strawberry tea set from The Christmas Tree Shop.....

Faux desserts displayed on the Tea and Toast set....

A vintage metal tray with strawberries on it.....

The strawberry tea pot......

A vintage yellow fiesta ware bowl with a faux cherry pie as I did not have a strawberry pie!!

My basket of strawberries made from styrofoam eggs....

More faux pastries....

A vintage milk glass hurricane lamp....

Underneath the desk area.....

On this side of the hutch.....

Above the door way out to the Den......

In the corner of the Kitchen cabinets.....

The Chicken oven gloves and towels came from Dollar Tree a few years ago....

New towels that Joe bought at Dollar tree recently....

The plaid goes well with my valances, place mats and cafe curtain....

Above the stove is an old Home Interiors picture that I used a place mat to cover.....

Next to the stove.....

A Hens and Roosters carving board....

My faux window....

I added a second ribbon to the red and white plaid bow.....an Ivy one....that I hung at the top of my chandy..

I hung the red and white checked valance that I made from a tablecloth.....

Several years ago, I re-did Valentine's Day plaques that I got in a mystery Bag at Michael's using  chicken pot holders from Dollar Tree

On the window sill......

Some eggs, a chicken and a Country Store that I bought several years ago at Michael's for 90% off....

In the center....

 A Sweet Shop....

Over in the corner.....

This was an Easter wreath made from eggs and I added red and yellow flowers and a few cotton picks....

The Beverage Area....

I bought the towels hanging on the cabinets in Boscov's....

I used more Chicken Pot Holders from Dollar Tree to hang on the handles....

A Dollar Tree place mat......

Something new is on top of the refrigerator....

I saw this beauty online in Big Lot's and it was on sale for $20 from $25..

Joe had a coupon for $5 off $15...

And another reward for $10 off......

So when all was said and done, It cost only $5!!

A basket of eggs...

A pair of vintage ceramic hens....

On the shelf above the counter bar.....

A laundry display on the side of the counter bar....

Above the counter bar....

A Summer garland....

A red and white plaid runner on the counter bar.....

And another Dollar Tree place mat.....

The cafe curtain I made from a tablecloth......

My red Hen rugs....

You see Azumi photo bombed the picture!!

On the other side of the counter bar.....

The ceramic mold was my parent's.....

I hope you enjoyed this tour of the Kitchen decorated with a few Hens and Roosters and a bit of strawberries for the early Summer....

It will stay this way until after the 4th of July when I will change things up a bit with a theme that I have been planning since last year.....
