Another Dollar Store Haul and Soccer Game and A "New" Fall Wreath!!!!

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

I know, I know, I know!!

I really have to stop going to Dollar Tree because every time I stop in, they have different things out for Fall and Halloween!!!

This is my latest Haul from Dollar Tree.......
I want to say it is the last of my Fall/Halloween buying but I guess I really can not promise that!!!

Look at these sweet metal signs.......
I sprayed them with a clear sealant and they found a home out in my front yard!!

And I love this cute "Gather" block....I have already spotted it on other Blogs.....
One can always use oven mitts and pot holders......
I plan on using 2 of the pot holders in a craft project......

And more Fall flowers.....
Look at these Halloween Goodies!!!!
I bought the smaller book boxes.......
They did have larger ones but since I only decorate the Dining Room for Halloween......
Space is limited......
And I bought these 2 packages of Halloween stickers......
I used them to make Fall/Halloween ornaments for a Tree in my Kitchen.....
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

And this is my haul from Dollar General........
All the following items were $1.00 each!!

Another oven mitt and a potholder and dish towels.....
I love the apple theme and the red in these......
Again, loving the apple theme and the canning jars in red!!
Halloween figures that I may use with my Victorian doll house!!
Don't mind the reflection of the lamp on the table....
These are all $1.00 each except for the lights which I bought for my Fall/Halloween Tree in the Kitchen.....
The lights were $3.50....
Loved the plaid ribbon!!

These sweet little pillow hangers were $2.00 each!!
So were these cute Acorn Salt and Pepper Shakers....
And so was this Maple Sugar Donut scented spray!!
This fall Leaf Garland was $5.00...
I hope I am now done shopping Dollar Tree and Dollar General for Fall and Halloween things ......

BUT I can't really promise anything because every time I go to Dollar Tree, they have something different out that I did not see before!!!

And the Dollar General Store 5 minutes from our house has been closed for several days because it is being totally remodeled so of course, we will have to go and check out how the newly remodeled store looks!!!

You may remember that I bought this red truck sign at Dollar Tree......
I decided to use it in transforming an old Fall wreath that I found in my neighbor Elly's house when we were cleaning it out so her family could put it up for sale.....

I took it apart and started all over again....

Yes, I forgot to take a photo of the before wreath.....

But......

This is what it looks like now.......
Some of the milk weed pods ( I think that is what they are called) and the sun flowers were on the original wreath....
I added some of the fall flowers and leaves that I have been buying at Dollar Tree......
I wanted to use flowers in deep rich Fall colors.....
I used the same bow which was made from fabric ribbon.....
I actually took apart the bow and redid it.....
And the right side of the wreath......
I glued a scare crow and a scare crow face from the original wreath to the red truck which I attached to the center of the wreath......
I also glued a pair of metal leaves that I had in my stash to the top of the truck.....

And this is now how the wreath looks........
And this is how my "new" Fall Wreath looks on my front door......
Soon, I will be sharing the rest of our front porch and yard decorated for Fall.....

I have been enjoying my retirement by doing simple things that I was never able to do before and one of them is attending our Great Nieces Soccer games!!

In my last post, I shared that Joe and I went to our 10 year old great niece Carly's game......
Click HERE if you missed the post about what we did last weekend.....

We also attended an evening game where our great niece Cortney is the Goalie for her high school Girl's Soccer Team, the Lady Comets......
Cortney is in the green shirt.....
# 29
Our niece Renae and her daughters live in Mountaintop......
It is called this because this community sits on top of a mountain range about 15-20 minutes from our house.....
It was a beautiful evening with nice comfortable weather......
And with an amazing Sun Set......
With the mountain tops in the background of the stadium!!
Love the above photo of our niece with the sunset and mountains behind her...
And a what stunning sun set....
Unfortunately, the Lady Comets lost the game, 2-1......

At the end of the game, something happened that I think is amazing.....

Below is the face book post that my niece Renae posted after that game.....

"So last night after Cortney's soccer game another soccer family from Wyoming Valley West gave this to her. As Cortney's Mom I am touched that someone would put so much thought into a gift for her. This means the world to us. She is Blessed to have such good friends, even if they may not always get along on the field, friendships do still form. Keep this in mind at your next sporting event."
A member of the opposing team but a friend of Cortney's, gifted her this beautiful tee shirt, memorializing my nephew John who passed away from colon cancer....

I love the blue ribbon for colon cancer with the soccer ball......

Unfortunately, Joe and I had already left so we did not get to witness this loving act of kindness ...

This is definitely what this world needs more of.....

Don't you think?

I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

  3. Debbie, you're so funny! I know you cannot resist bargains and you made such a great haul. I love the red trucks and apples motif. I'm just the opposite from you; I don't like shopping! What? Yes, I'm a female, and I don't enjoy shopping. It just tuckers me out. But if I found a good thrift store with china and home goods, I could probably spend some time in there. I think the world would be terribly boring if we were all the same so I visit gals like you to get ideas. Your wreath is great and the metal signs, really cute! We just came through Hurricane Dorian so I'm making my rounds. It won't be long and we'll all be talking Christmas; my favourite holiday. Hugs...Sandi

  13. Your Halloween Wreath turned out so cute. I also really like the Metal Signs. It is also so nice that you are able to watch your great nieces participate in their activities. I have a sister that does not have any children and she is such a great support to her nephews and nieces and now to their children. They all just love her. I know that she has definitely been a blessing to our family. She has always supported my children and now that 2 of them have their own children, she is always there for them too. I love that you are able to be there for your nieces and their children.

    1. Amy,
Thanks so much for your kind words... we do not have any grandchildren and it is looking like we may never have any but we are okay with that, I would never put pressure on my sons to do so. I always say that I have adopted my great nieces as my grandchildren. They are great kids and when their Dad got sick, we tried to be there and help out and do things for them as much as we could, building a wonderful relationship with their whole family. Now that he has passed, I feel that we need to be even more supportive not only to my great nieces but to my niece who just lost her husband, her high school sweetheart. And since I am now retired, a simple act of showing up at a soccer game or a dance recital means so much to them. We love them like they were our own grandchildren and are so happy to have them in our lives.
      Hugs,
      Deb

  14. Dollar tree can be addictive! I bought a lot myself and love their signs, pumpkins and flowers. I was happy when I found a few copper pumpkins too. It's great to be retired enjoying things we couldn't do working. Glad you enjoyed your nieces soccer games and i know she was happy you were there!
