Winter/Valentine's Decor in the Kitchen, 2018

 Welcome!!!

In my last few posts, I have been sharing how I decorated the Kitchen for Winter with a touch of Valentine's..........

First, I showed you my Winter Cardinal Tree.......
Click HERE if you missed that post......

Then I shared how I decorated the top part of our Kitchen Hutch using Holiday Harlequin dishes from Wegman's........
Click HERE if you missed it!!

Next, I shared how I decorated the desk area of the hutch.....
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

In this post, I will be sharing the rest of the Kitchen....

But first, I want to Thank Richella, over at Imparting Grace, for featuring my post over on my Christmas Blog, Where DO I Put It All?, Under the Stairs, Part 1, from last week's Grace at Home Party!!
 Thanks so much, Richella!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!

We will start where we left off in the Kitchen.......
I am sure you realized that I have gone with a Cardinal theme for my Winter decorations in the Kitchen......

Over on this side of the Kitchen......
You can see that I added a few Valentine's things like towels and a few crocheted heart magnets on the hood.....
This is the area where the window used to be......
I always like to decorate this area for different Holidays and Seasons.....
I took down the evergreen garland that was there for Christmas and put back up a leaf garland intertwined with red rose lights.......
Hearts and bird house ornaments with cardinals on them, were hung from the gingerbread brackets in each corner of the area.......
You can see I also added a pot holder with a snowman and a cardinal on it.....
I also decorated the chandy that I made.....
I added a bow made from a plaid and a cardinal ribbon.......
Hanging from the chandy are a few sets of red beads.........
Hearts......
And a cloche ornaments with a cardinal inside of it......
There are also 2 black ice skate ornaments hanging from the chandy......
On the shelf below.......
I decorated this area for Winter.......
I bought these ornaments in Walmart after Christmas for $1.00 each.....
I found these 2 cardinals in Gabes before Christmas.......
One says Joy........
And the other says Love......
In the middle of the shelf is a crackle glass cardinal lantern with fairy lights inside of it......
Next to the sink......
A Valentine sign.....
My "Winter Beverage Station"........
You can see another potholder with a snowman and a cardinal.......
A copper tray rests on a red and white checked place mat.....
Coffee, Tea or Cocoa.......
On the tray is a cute snow man tea pot.......
I received the "Coca in a Jar" as a gift for Christmas.......
And I used a votive with a hand painted cardinal on it that I bought at a craft fair to hold my sugar substitute packets.....
Packets of flavored coffee, tea and cocoa.......
Tea strainers are stored in the larger red mug......
Plenty of mugs for hot beverages.....
On top of the refrigerator.....
I, again, decorated with cardinals.......
Canning jars with bottle brush trees and a cardinal inside of each one......
A battery operated lit evergreen tree in a red and white enamel bowl that I placed in a wood basket.....
A pretty Winter cardinal scene on it.....
A cardinal figurine and a vintage small pitcher with a cardinal on it.....
Over by the counter bar.....
You can see that I left up the garland that I hung there for Christmas......
And decorated it for Winter and Valentine's Day......
A metal tin sign with a cardinal on it hangs above the counter bar.....
 And copper wire basket.......
I had to remove one of the baskets because it hung down too low with my "new" lamp on the counter bar........
I'll show you the lamp now before I get to the garland........
This lamp was over my neighbor's house.........
My neighbor is in a nursing home due to Alzheimer's and we take care of the house for her sons who both live away.........
They have told me to take whatever I want from the house and I always admired this lamp......
I think it fits well in my Kitchen.......

Love the shade!!
Now back to the garland above the counter bar.......
As I mentioned before, I decorated it for Winter with a touch of Valentine's........

Bows made out of plaid and cardinal ribbon were hung on each end and in the middle......
I hung several types of heart ornaments on the garland..........

Pewter ones.......
Red foam hearts and red fabric hearts......
A red cardinal ornament..........
You may remember that  Joe bought these ornaments in Bed, Bath and Beyond after Christmas on Clearance.......
I like how they match the ribbon on the bows.......
 The center of the garland......
Another red cardinal ornament hangs on this side of the garland......
 And a birdhouse.....
I will keep the plaid rug that I have used for a runner on the counter bar until the beginning of February when I will replace it with a Valentine's runner......
I do love this lamp........
I hope you enjoyed seeing my Kitchen decorated for Winter with a few cardinals and a bit of Valentine's decorations.......

For January Rudolph Day over on my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas, I did a post showing more of the things that Joe and I bought after Christmas on Clearance and where I already used some of them.......
Click HERE to read that post if interested.......

In my future posts, I will be moving into the Den and sharing more Winter decorations like my Winter Tree in the Den......
And my Winter Snow and Ice China Cupboard.......
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

  1. I love cardinals and your décor really celebrates them. I know that I can't do as much decorating as you do, but it is lovely. I adore the red in a kitchen!
