I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Autumn Elegance Tree, 2017

 Welcome!!!

Today, I will be sharing my Living Room Autumn Tree.......

In my previous post, I shared some Autumn vignettes in the Living Room and how I changed the Living Room over from Summer decor to Autumn decor......
Click HERE if you missed that post........

I have moved the white Tree that sat in this corner of the Living Room up to the Sitting Room where it will be decorated for Christmas......
The above photo shows it decorated in an "Under the Sea" Theme for Summer......

I cleaned up this corner to get it ready for the 7 foot slim Tree that will sit here until the Spring.....
Joe brought the Tree up from our storage shed that we rent.......
We moved the platform down from upstairs where it is stored and set it in the corner for the Tree to stand on........

This way it will be in place for me to set up my Christmas Village on it.....

I shaped the Tree and added all the lights........
The white lights will stay on this Tree until it gets packed away in the Spring.....
The orange lights will be removed for Christmas......
Some Autumn branches will give the Tree more height.......
You may remember that I bought this ribbon at Dollar Tree........
I took apart the bow that I used in previous years for the top of the Tree and made a new one using the 2 ribbons from the old one and adding this new ribbon......
I also made some streamers from the new ribbon......
The new ribbon added a bit of glitz .........
Now the Tree is ready to decorate......
I started by adding a few large leaf florals.........
The copper colored glitter ones were bought after Christmas several years ago at Michael's......
Then I added the large leaf ornaments that I bought after Christmas at Kmart and recently embellished.....
I added a few more leaf ornaments.......
And gold and orange and copper ball ornaments......
I then added some pumpkin ornaments......
Next came the "Specialty" ornaments as I like to call them......
Owls......

A scarecrow......
 Or two....
 Birds......
 More owls.......
 Pine cones.....
More florals in orange and copper colors........
Yes, Joe took this picture of me decorating the Tree......

I wear my old scrub tops when I am cleaning or doing "dirty work" around the house.......
I added some picks of yellow flowers.......
Here are some photos before I turn the lights on......
The copper and orange ball ornaments were bought several years ago at the local Volunteer's of America Thrift Shop for $1.00 a bag...I bought several bags....
The gold and brown ball ornaments were bought after Christmas one year for 75% off.....
The gold pine cone ornaments and cloth owl ornaments were bought at Dollar Tree.......
And with the lights on during the day.....
This Tree will remain decorated like this until after October 31st......
Then I will strip it all down and decorate it for Christmas.......
In my next post, I will show you how I decorated the area underneath the Tree.......
So I hope you will be back to visit again soon.......

  2. Always so pretty. You've inspired me to set my Cabin tree up in the fall and then just change the flowers and ribbon. A wonderful idea. Thanks for sharing your lovely home.
Sorry I haven't commented much. My internet is always so slow. I barely get posts up!
    Have a good week!

  11. Debbie, you're amazing! I know I've said that before, but it's really true. You pull out all the stops to fill your home with seasonal beauty. I love the way you show all the steps you take to decorate this tree for fall--that's really helpful.

Thanks so much for joining the Grace at Home party at Imparting Grace. I'm featuring you this week!
