I am a Victorian Soul, who lives in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion!! I just recently lost my Hubby Joe, who was a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am so glad that we retired at 62 years of age and got to spend that time together before he passed....I still do love Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Winter Bird Tree in the Kitchen, 2017

Welcome!!!

I have finally taken down all of the Christmas decorations downstairs and will be starting to decorate the Living Room and Dining Room for Valentine's Day.

I do leave up all my Winter and Valentine's Day Decorations until the end of February.......

In February, I will begin to take down Christmas upstairs.......

In my previous posts, I have been sharing how I converted some of my Christmas decorations into Winter Decorations....

Those posts are now listed over on my Side Bar if you are interested..........

I want to Thank Jillian, over at Vintage & Co., for featuring my post, Winter China Cupboard, from last week's Let's Talk Vintage Party!!
Thanks so much, Jillian!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!

Today, I will be sharing how I changed the Christmas Tree in the Kitchen into a Winter Bird Tree.......

This is how it looked for Christmas......
And this is how it looks now, decorated for Winter........
This is now how this wall in my Kitchen looks, decorated for Winter , with a touch of Valentine's Day........
I will be showing you more of the hutch in future posts.......

After Christmas, we bought some decorations that I thought would be great to use in my Kitchen for Winter.......
I wanted to go with a bird, mainly Cardinal theme........
The cardinal items were bought at Boscov's at 75% off.......
This wonderful plaid ribbon was bought at Wegman's for 50 % off......
More cardinals.....
The lantern was bought at Sears, the cardinal ornament at Wegman's and the figurine at Boscov's.......
And we bought 2 of these at Boscov's......

One says Noel that I used at Christmas and this one says Joy.......
I used a lot of these items on my hutch...........
Back to the Tree, which is on the side of the hitch........
Here is where is hung the Cardinal tin plaque.......
Isn't this picture on my Calendar for January cute!!
Back to the Tree.......
For the topper, I tucked some greenery and berry branches into the top of the Tree.....
I made a bow using that red plaid ribbon that I showed you before and a pretty red cardinal ribbon that I already had......
I also added streamers of both ribbons for the Tree......

Next I added the ornaments.......

Birds......
Cardinals......
And then I forgot to take any more pictures of the Tree being decorated!!
Back to the ornaments.......

Birdhouses........
Crocheted snowflakes that I have had for years and were bought at a church flea market......
I tucked puffs of Buffalo Snow into the Tree for a more Wintery feel.......
Some birdhouses have hearts on them and I also added a few red heart ornaments for Valentine's Day......
More birdhouses......
A cardinal ornament......
Around the base of the Tree......
A basket with a cardinal on it, bought at a church flea market, and filled with Buffalo Snow, a nest and a cardinal.......
And a pair of child's skates that I got from a neighbor......
This Tree will stay up until the end of February.......
In my next post, I will be sharing how I decorated my Hutch, using the dishes that Joe bought on Clearance in Wegman's.......
So I hope you will come by and visit  again!!

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

  12. I too use Cardinals to extend my Christmas to Winter. However, since I am a decor blogger I have found now that I have to move quicker into the next season so I can post about it, so that has changed for me this year. My rabbits are already out! Looks like you have a treasure of keepsakes for your decor. thanks for joining TADA! Thursdays!
