A Bit of Vintage in the Kitchen

Previously, I shared how I updated my Beverage Area using some vintage items that I recently acquired........
Click HERE if you missed that post........

I thought I would share more of my recent vintage finds and how I used them in the Kitchen along with my other vintage items......

But first, I want to Thank Christine, over at Rustic and Refined, for featuring my post,
Rain, Olympics and Veggies!  from last week's Dishing It and Digging It Link Party!!
Thanks so much Christine and all the other hosts of this great party!!

Please take some time to stop by and link up to this great party!!

I am just going to take you around my Kitchen.......

We will start on top of the refrigerator......
The long shelf that runs above the door way to the Dining Room and the counter bar.....
I recently added some vintage blue canning jars.......
And a few vintage tins......
The Counter Bar area.......
On the side.......
I spray painted the wooden wall pocket with chalk board paint and keep note pads in it.....

On the other side......
I added the Shutters here in the Spring.........
If you missed that post, click HERE

I already have my Fall runner in place.......
I used this vintage Fiesta Ware plate under the lamp.......
The yellow doily was bought in Michael's in the Dollar bins.......
My faux fruit baskets.....
On the side of the counter bar.....
I go the bright yellow yard stick from a neighbor....
A vintage iron rest and rolling pin.....
Vintage rolling pins and kitchen utensils.....
The vintage Planters Peanuts can was my Mother's.....
Over the the Hutch/Desk.........
On the side of the Hutch......
I placed a set of 3 LED lighted branches that I bought on Clearance after Christmas.....
This is another of my Vintage style finds......
It was given to me by a  neighbor......
My Dad made the red shelves on each side of this wall out of scrap lumber when we were first married........
More vintage items......

The Hutch.......
I made this many years ago by marrying a hutch from a bedroom set to a desk for the cost of $15 for both pieces......
Top of the hutch......
I used 2 new to me vintage fiesta ware plates in the hutch......

A green one on this shelf........
A yellow one on this shelf........
The wooden rooster was a recent find that I painted red.......

I changed the desk area around a bit.......
These jars were bought at a Thrift Shop and I filled them with vintage cookie cutters and faux pastries......
The red place mat also came from a neighbor.......
So did the light........
Pretty shade, don't you think????
I filled to vintage canning jars with faux eggs and fruit........
Beneath the desk area.......
A vintage tin picnic basket........
And a vintage iron......
Over on the other side of the hutch.......
More vintage items......
The reason for Mr. Peanut being displayed here is because Planter's Peanuts was founded here in Wilkes Barre by 2 Italian Immigrant Brothers.......
Love the vintage look of this Coca Cola Picture.......
The basket of apples also came for a neighbor.........
I guess you can say this wall is the focal wall in my Kitchen.......
Above the door way to the Den......
Vintage Vaseline Glass goblets.....

In the corner......
On the side of the stove.....
Vintage aprons.......
I decided to hang the Galley sign, which I bought at a remodeling sale at Red Lobster a few years ago, over the sink........
So that is where I put some of my recent vintage finds......

I can't wait to decorate for Fall and Halloween which I will start to do right after Labor Day.........

This Summer has been so terribly HOT so I am looking foward to the cooler temps. and my favorite time of year!!

  11. Your yellow Levines yard stick made me think of my grandma! She worked in the linen dept for years at our local Levines....great memories! When I was in middle school, I used to get to work at Levines during inventory time and earn some extra money. Your kitchen is so cheery Debbie, I always see something that I didn't notice before! Have a blessed week, hugs

  16. I've said it before Debbie, but I just LOVE the red you have going on here in your kitchen! It looks so cozy and inviting. I especially love the nesting tins with the carnations/clover (?) and the ones with the apples. And your collection of vintage kitchen tools and rolling pins is pretty impressive! I have a couple of pieces, but it's not always easy to find these around here. . .guess there's lots of people collecting them. Oh, and I LOVE ANYTHING Coca Cola! And copper pots! Fun kitchen!!!
