Cottage Garden Secret Garden, Part 3, 2016

ATTENTION: MY MAIN BLOG, DEBBIE-DABBLE, IS HAVING MAJOR ISSUES AND I HAVE LOST ACCESS TO CHANGE ANYTHING IN THE LAYOUT OF THE BLOG SO I HAVE DECIDED TO START A NEW BLOG BECAUSE I FEEL THE ISSUE WITH MY FORMER BLOG MAY NEVER BE RESOLVED.

Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

If you followed me on my other Blog, I would so appreciate it if you will follow me on this blog too!!!!

Links are on my Side Bar!!

Today, I am sharing Part 3 of our Cottage Garden.......

Thanks to Sherry, over at Olives and Okra, for featuring it as the Most Viewed from the Funtastic Friday Party!
Thanks so much, Sherry and all the hosts at Funtastic Friday!!

And Thanks to Linda, over at Crafts a La Mode, for picking it as one of her features from last week's What to Do Weekends Party!!
Thanks a bunch, Linda!!

In this post, I will be sharing the last area of our Cottage Garden over to the right of the yard..........
There is a path of pavers that lead to the shed in back right hand corner of the yard...........
To decorate the shed up a bit, I hung Toy Shovels from Dollar Tree on the doors.....
On the side of the shed, we store work horses and buckets filled with extra pea gravel, sand and soil......
As I mentioned in the last 2 posts, I took these photos on 2 different days, one that was cloudy and rainy and one that was sunny...........
It is hard to get a good photo of this side of the yard when the sun is out because half of it is shaded by the tree in the back....

Hanging on a shepherd's hook is a Post Man Wind Chime ( remember that Joe is a Mail Man) and a solar Lantern......
The Trellis was bought at Home Depot last year and is anchored to the fence with zip ties!!
Underneath the shepherd's hook is an Angel.........
 And a Solar Rock.......
There is a set of Solar Dragon Fly Lights wrapped around the Trellis......
The Bird Bath used to be a fountain but it not longer works.......
  Underneath the bird bath.....
  One of my Garden Gnomes.....
Next to the bird bath is a plant stand with a pot filled with petunias......
They are starting to fill in nicely!!
Another Angel sits on the opposite side of the Bird Bath.....
I bought this Gazing Ball on clearance last year at Big Lot's.....
Asters are planted on the edge of the patio......
"An Hour in the Garden Put Life's Problems into Perspective"

How true......
We have not decided if we are going to extend the lattice higher using the trellis for support of it like we did on the other side of the yard.......
We have an older gentleman for a neighbor that lost his wife several years ago,is battling cancer and Joe likes to talk to him over the fence every now and then......

And our yard is a good 3 feet higher than his, separated by a retaining wall on his side....

And that completes my "Tour" of our tiny back yard......

Our "Cottage Garden"

Even though we live in a townhouse development in a row of 10 houses and a row of 10 townhouses sits behind us, we call out back yard our Secret Garden because of how private it is......

Now I know you are thinking how could it possibly be private with living so close to others????

This is why we call it our Secret Garden......
No one can see into our back yard with the Trees and the lattice.......
I can sit on the Patio in my robe in the morning with my cup of coffee and  no one can see me!!!
I bet my little yard is more private that a lot of your yards are so we call it our Secret Garden because most of my neighbors have no idea what our back yard even looks like!!
I have decorated our "Cottage Garden" with bright and cheerful colors to make it a "Happy Place" for Joe and I to enjoy and I hope you enjoyed seeing it!!

I have been busy while Joe and I were on Stacation last week.......

We did start the ball rolling on taking care of a lot of things having to do with his upcoming Retirement in September....

I finished tweaking my Patio for the Summer...

I did some furniture painting in my new "Sitting Room" , former "Guest Room"......

I planted a few more perennials and tweaked a little flower bed by our Court's Mail Boxes......

And to think that I was recently asked by a co worker who said " But what will you do when you retire? Won't you be bored???"

"Apparently, you don't know me too well!" , was my answer!!

I have a lot more to share with all of you........

So I hope you will be back to visit soon!!

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

Hugs,
Debbie

  3. What a delightful space to spend time in, Debbie! It looks like a lot of work, but the results are well worth it. I'm glad to see you found a way around the blog problems. Thanks for sharing at Snickerdoodle Sunday. Pining to my Great Outdoors Board.

  4. I'm so glad you are back in business, Debbie! It's a shame there are those out in the cyber world who would want to make trouble for others. Think of how much better the world might be if the hackers would use the time and energy to do something good. Your garden is beautiful!
